joke aside, nigerians will never learn, this is not a case of pdp or apc but our values generally are damaged
i can't see how nigerian will get out of this doldrums with our present mentality and values

we need a total re-orientation which should start from the kindergatten, its gonna be years of consistent hard work to build into coming generations pristine values for national development as well as loyalty and dedication to the nigerian state

this present crop of politicians are doomed to fail, corrupt, demented cultural values and selfish to the core which is a true reflection of our present societal beliefs.

God help Nigeria!

Being a Nigerian or born as a one is not the problem rather it is growing up under the Nigerian system, mannarism and societal values with its demented state of mind which eventually moulds the person's warped mentality for life.
Many Nigerians are highly successful showing you that we have the resource to be the best state in the world but our society and system of living twist the destiny of each Nigerian.
Wrapped in our DNA is corrupted state of mind that only thinks of selfish means of outplaying everyone with no sense of loyalty and dedication to national development, it's a very sad reality

Dwightventures:
This has been my life message to Nigerians including the big men I've talked to. That's why you only hear of me on nairaland. This country is exactly where the society wants it to be. It is a tragedy for me to be a Nigerian. As I've coined it over a decade ago: "THE PROBLEM WITH NIGERIA IS THE NIGERIAN PEOPLE THEMSELVES, A FEW OF WHOM ARE IN GOVERNMENT FOR A BRIEF PERIOD. THEIR ATTITUDES, WORLDVIEW AND BELIEF SYSTEM ARE SUCH AS TO CREATE A FAILED STATE", and that's what we have. I'm hiding under a rock, trying my best not to interact with any Nigerian. It would be my dream to have an alternative country of residence, but every single country in the world hates Nigerians. But of course, according to Nigerians it is because we are too successful and they're jealousy. Yea, that can only come from a proud member of a failed state. I only laugh at our people now. I'm no longer interested in bettering the country. They've stolen my life already
PoliticsRe: Dangote Petrol Not Enough, NNPCL, Marketers Resume Importation by oloriooko(m): 4:10pm On Sep 20, 2024
@ the bolded
I will not say only APC but every Nigerian is guilty of this and until we reposition our mentality and desires, it will only get worse
All our leaders grew among us so it's an innate problem that require entire repositioning of our mental state and allegiance to national development

ivandragon:
Hmm...

When you tell people that removing subsidy is not an end in itself, they throw up blind arguments.

If as the government said that pms subsidies became unsustainable because of corrupt practices and rising costs, the commonsense thing to have done is check the corrupt practices and then address the issues that gave rise to the increasing costs.

How can you admit that people committed economic sabotage for years and then rather than get those people to pay for thier crimes against the masses, you leave the masses to thier fate because you are too cowardly to do the right thing?

Does bat think the economic saboteurs would just simply go away because he decided to run from them and instead suffer the masses? That cabal would simply evolve into another monster to continue to feed off the broken system, afterall, they are untouchable.

First address the factors that have made fuel subsidy unsustainable, then you can remove the subsidy. At that point, pms could come down to as low as N350- N400 per litre without subsidy, which is still bearable in our present economic state IF the N70k minimum wage is implemented across board.

Once pms crosses N400, reintroduce subsidies, at this point, government would be paying about N50-N75 subsidy. When prices drop, stop the subsidy.

To those saying smuggling because of high prices in other countries, I ask...

1. Why should Nigerians pay more for a product it has comparative advantage simply because the government is too incompetent to perform its duty of securing the nation's borders?

2. What stops fuel prices from going up in those countries as the price in Nigeria rises? So because fuel is N2000 in Cameroon, Nigerians must pay N2500 for something they can get at N500?

3. What happens when the much touted CNG is also adopted by neighbouring countries? So the prices would also rise due to smuggling?

Apc is just made up of senseless characters who are cunning and out for themselves only.

NNPC Corrects Mistake On Petrol Price Increase Statement
The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has corrected a mistake made on the nationwide petrol price statement it released earlier on Monday.
Early Monday morning, NNPCL gave a chart breakdown of the refined petrol product it bought from Dangote Refinery.

While the data of the estimated price to be sold around the country remains the same, the analysis of the transaction it had with Dangote Refinery was altered.

“The NNPC Ltd. has released estimated prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as Petrol (obtained from the Dangote Refinery) in its retail stations across the country.

“The estimated prices are based on negotiated terms between NNPC Ltd. and Dangote Refinery which recognise the current international gasoline prices and the prevailing foreign exchange rate in line with the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021.

“The NNPC Ltd. can confirm that it is paying Dangote Refinery in USD for September 2024 PMS offtake, as Naira transactions will only commence on October 1st, 2024.

“We reassure Nigerians that any discount from the Dangote Refinery will be passed on 100% to the general public,” it read.

While in the first press statement on Monday had a Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) fee of ₦8.99, the second statement showed ₦4.495.

The first statement had an inspection fee of ₦0.97, a margin fee of ₦26.48 and a distribution fee of ₦15.

In the second statement on Monday, there were no inspection fee and marging fee, while the distribution fee was changed to ₦42.45.

The second statement also had an additional Midstream and Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF) of ₦4.495

increase pump price astronomically, allow people make the noise, tell the people you don't have an idea how much dangote will sell (which is a pure lie), tell the people you will negotiate with dangote, come out with the already set price, people will go for it cuz its cheaper than the current price and everyone is happy
