Applications for the 2014-2015 Chevening Scholarships, the prestigious global scholarship program of the UK government is now open.

Scholarships will support over 600 established or emerging leaders from 118 countries worldwide. They are typically for a one-year Master’s degree in any subject and at any of the UK’s leading universities.

The programme is a United Kingdom government’s scholarship programme, funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. Scholars are hand-picked by British Embassies and High Commissions throughout the world, sometimes in partnership with sponsoring organization.

Applicants must:

-be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country, with the intent to return there at the end of the period of study;
-hold a degree that is equivalent to at least an upper second-class honors degree in the UK;
-achieve the minimum Chevening English language requirement;
-have completed at least two years’ work or equivalent experience before applying for a Chevening Scholarship;
-be able to obtain the correct visa, and receive an unconditional offer from a UK university.

A Chevening Scholarship in Nigeria includes:
1. A monthly stipend, travel to and from your country via an approved route,
2. An arrival and excess baggage allowance
3. A thesis or dissertation grant
4. The cost of an entry clearance visa and tuition fees (a global tuition fee cap of £12,000 will apply for MBA courses).

Hi....am also a student of OAU and I haven't gotten any msg either frm odua or DSA...but I asked a frnd of mine to check DSA for info and he said the man in charge told him dey sent a list to odua arnd 3rd week of aug so I shld be wait for odua to send a msg to me. I think odua is responding/contacting beneficiaries based on when each school sends dem a list...so my advice to u is to wait patiently an hopefully somfin good comes out of it....thanks.

The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (Operator of the NNPC/SHELL /TEPN/AGIP Joint Venture) Scholarship Scheme offers first year students in all Nigerian universities the opportunity to study with an annual grant from the SPDC JV for the full duration of their course. The programme aims to promote academic excellence and improve the skills-base among young Nigerians.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Students must be citizens of Nigeria,
Currently enrolled in a first degree programme at an accredited and approved university in Nigeria, and;
Must have gained admission during the 2012/2013 academic session.


SCHOLARSHIP TYPES
The Scholarship is in two categories - the National Merit Award (NM) and the Areas of Operation Merit Award, East or West (OE or OW).

-National Merit Award (NM)

For Nigerians who are indigenes of SPDC’s operational area in Bayelsa (i.e indigenes of Ekeremor and Sagbama Local Government areas) and Delta States.

HOW TO APPLY

All applicants should have their personal valid email accounts (for consistent communication).
Candidates who meet the above entry qualifications should apply online to provide required personal and educational details, and load scanned copies of the following:
A recent passport-sized photograph of the applicant (i.e. jpeg format, that is not more than 200kilobytes);
University or JAMB (UTME or D/E) Admission Letter;
Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) Scores;
‘O’ Level Result(s); and ‘A’ Level /OND /NCE Result(s) as applicable; and

ELIGIBILITY

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD:

Of course, we all know that's not true.

I advise you guys to sit down and think out your own business plan yourself. Buying a business plan will most likely amount to loss at the end of the day for obvious reasons.
In the interview, its what you have in you (your passion) that will be brought out, not what you've crammed up from someone else's passion. If you're presenting something you have passion and solid plans for, you will definitely be able to defend yourself no matter what.
Just my little piece of advice.

You already have the official Delta State scholarship board's website to apply on and how to get your scratch cards (Zenith Bank branches nationwide), don't allow yourself to be defrauded by patronising some miscreants.

Sincerely, all other things being equal...the chances of applicants with colored printouts are as equal as those with clear black and white printouts. (except probably in an extremely rare occasion of too many ties in selection criteria like test scores, O'level results and the likes)

You can use an alternative (e.g a letter from your school/department) in case you don't have the JAMB admission letter. I didn't apply with a JAMB admission letter all through my days in school, its good to have one though.
