The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), the Federal Government agency with the mandate of developing indigenous human capacity and petroleum technology to meet the needs of the oil and gas industry, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for Overseas MSc and PhD Scholarships to institutions under its UK strategic partnership initiative. Successful candidates will be awarded scholarships to study in UK commencing in the 2020/2021 academic session.


The Scheme
Under this scheme, candidates are invited to apply through PTDF to specific programmes at the partner institutions in any of the countries. The award includes the provision of flight tickets, payment of health insurance, payment of tuition and bench fees (where applicable) as well as the provision of allowances to meet the costs of accommodation and living expenses.


Selection Process, Criteria and Requirements

PTDF scholarships are highly competitive and only candidates who are outstanding across board are selected. A selection committee will be constituted to assess applications using the following criteria;

Academic merit as evidenced by quality of degrees, full academic transcripts, other professional qualifications acquired, and relevant publications to be referenced by applicants
Membership of professional bodies
The viability of the study/research plan.
Applicants are required to make a case for their scholarship by submitting a statement of purpose (maximum 500 words) stating the reason(s) they want to undertake the study, the relevance of the proposed study to the oil & gas industry and its expected impact on national development.

Requirements

MSc
A minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) qualification in their first degree or a Second Class Lower (2.2) with relevant industry experience
Must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC)
Must be computer literate
Possession of 5 O/level credits including English Language.

PhD
Must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC)
Must be computer literate
A minimum of Second Class Lower (2.2) in their first degree and a good second-degree certificate;
Must submit a research proposal relevant to the oil and gas industry (of not more than 5 pages) to include: Topic, introduction, objective, methodology and mode of data collection (sample template of the proposal is available on our Scholarship Management Portal scholarship.ptdf.gov.ng);
Applicants must also include their master’s degree project

The Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) program is a nine month non-degree course funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by the Institute of International Education. The objective of the program is to strengthen foreign language instruction at U.S. colleges, universities, and some high schools, while providing future teachers from abroad the opportunity to refine their skills, increase their English language proficiency, and expand their knowledge of U.S. society and culture. FLTA fellows must return to their home countries upon completion of their programs to teach English at the secondary or university level.

Certificates should not be more than Two (2) years old (2016 & 2017). Age limit is from 18 to 20 years.


B. POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS: All applicants for Undergraduate degree courses must hold a First Degree with at least 2nd Class Upper Division. The applicants who are previous recipients of Foreign Awards must have completed at least two (2) years post qualification or employment practice in Nigeria. All applicants must have completed N.Y.S.C. Age limit is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D. and only:

i N.Y.S.C discharge or exemption certificates only are accepted;

ii) Evidence of readiness to be released by employer.


NOTE (For all Applicants):

i) Since the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants should be prepared to undertake a mandatory one year foreign Languare course of the country of choice which will be the standard medium of instruction; and

ii) All applicants for Hungarian Scholarships must visit the official website before 15th February, 2018.

Wishing you all success. I hope that with this new administration, payments are made promptly and list of beneficiaries made more transparent. The previous government made BEA unattractive.

Total Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI) - Annually, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and Total Upstream Companies in Nigeria (TUCN) : Total Exploration & Production Nigeria Limited (Total E&P Nig Ltd) and Total Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI), together with their venture partners, award scholarships to deserving Nigerian students in the tertiary institutions in the country.

The programme is aimed at promoting academic excellence and quality manpower development in the Country. This is one of the many ways TOTAL demonstrates its commitment to the educational development of Nigerian students. It is a part of TOTAL’s rich Corporate Social Responsibility.

Total Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI), in pursuance of its Corporate Social Responsibility, is pleased to announce the commencement of 2016/2017 NNPC/TOTAL National Merit Scholarship application. The scholarship Selection Test will be conducted on Saturday December 3, 2016, at eleven (11) Centers across the Country.

2016/2017 NNPC/Total National Merit Scholarship Scheme

Eligibility
To qualify for consideration, the applicant MUST:

Be a Registered FULL TIME undergraduate in a recognized Nigerian University
Be a certified 100 or 200 level student at the time of application
Show proof of SSCE or Equivalent Certificate.
Show proof of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) score.
Show proof of Admission letter from the University and Matriculation Number
Show proof of A-level or Equivalent Certificate (for direct entry students)

Please Note:

Students with less than 200 score in UTME need not apply
Students with less than 2.50 CGPA of 5-point scale, or equivalent need not apply
300 level students and above need not apply
Current beneficiaries of similar awards from other International Oil Companies (IOCs) need not apply

Interested and qualified candidates should follow the steps below:

Steps

Personal Information: Enter your name, date of birth and permanent home address Upload your recent passport photograph.
Contact Information: Enter your email and mobile phone information. Only use an active email and mobile phone number.
Origin: Enter your state and local government of origin data. You are required to upload a certificate or proof of origin from your local government or state.
University Information: Select your university, course and year of study. You will be required to upload your JAMB/University admission letter.
Result Information: Input your JAMB score or CPGA. You are required to upload your JAMB statement of result and university CPGA. For year two medical students, your JAMB score suffices.
Review Application: Review your application ensure all fields have been correctly entered. Upload all the documents required:
Recent Passport Photograph
Certificate or Proof of Origin
Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (SSCE)
UTME result
JAMB/University Admission Letter
1st Year Result showing CGPA
Conclusion: Attest that all info given is true. Accept terms and condition. On screen alert will confirm that you have successfully completed the application. You will receive an email to confirm this too.

General Information

Selection tests will hold on 3rd December 2016 at designated centers nationwide, which will be communicated to shortlisted candidates only.
Candidates shall bear fully the cost of transportation to/from test venue.
Candidates are therefore advised to choose text center closest to them.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the selection tests.

That list is grossly distorted and unreliable. It does not consider current economic status of Nigeria and was carelessly quoted from outdated information. Dangote and other Nigerian magnates' net worth had dwindled due to a crash on a Naira and most significantly recession.

Apparently, you didn't read the post. Dangote lost $4.3 billion for the same reason you gave and that was Forbes' rating as of Sept 12. If Forbes is 'grossly distorted and unreliable' with respect to net worth analysis, I wonder which other site you have to recommend.
