Crime / 'defiling My Child Is A Family Affair' Accuse Tells Journalist by OlubamzNews: 2:30pm On Nov 03, 2017 |
A 37-year-old man who was arrested and arraigned before an Ikeja High Court sitting in Lagos State, for allegedly defiling his six-year- old daughter claimed that it was a family affair and had nothing to do with outsiders. The suspect, Agu Echezona Harrison, who has been remanded in prison custody by the presiding judge, according to News Agency of Nigeria [NAN], was said to have inserted his fingers into the private parts of his young child over a period of time before the mother got to know about the abuse and reported to the police. The prosecuting officer, Adebayo Haroun, had earlier told the court that Harrison who was arraigned on a one-count charge of sexual Read full article+photo at www.olubamznews.com/2017/11/my-child-is-family-affair-accuse-tells.html?m=1 |

A 19 year-old pupil teacher of Sureso Star Preparatory school in the Wassa Amenfi West district, has been remanded into prison custody by the Tarkwa circuit court for allegedly defiling a fifteen year-old girl. The accused person, Nathaniel Kwarteng, pleaded not guilty to the offense and would re-appear before the same court on Wednesday November 1. Police, Chief Inspector Faustina Celestina Anaman, told the court presided by Mr Emmanuel Bart-Plange Brew that the victim is a pupil at Sureso Star preparatory school and lived with her father at Batmaso, a village near Asankrangwa in the same area with the accused. She said on October 9 this year, Kwarteng forced the victim into his room and had sexual intercourse with her, after which he detained her there till the next day. Inspector Anaman said the victim's father who had been searching for her daughter all night had a tip-off that the accused person had "camped” her in his room. According to the Prosecution, the victim's father informed his neighbours and they escorted him to Kwarteng's house to find out the truth. She said when they arrived and forced the door opened they found the accused together with the victim and she narrated her ordeal to her parents. Science/Technology / Scientist Discovers New Gravitational Waves From Black Hole Collision by OlubamzNews: 7:42am On Nov 02, 2017 |
Scientists announced this week that they have once again
recorded gravitational waves, ripples in space-time, from a
pair of black holes colliding 1.8 billion light years away.
They recorded the event on August 14, the fourth time in
the past two years that astronomers have detected and
recorded such ripples from collisions of black holes. The
scientists made the announcement in a Physical Review
Letters paper, as well as at a G7 meeting of science
ministers in Turin, Italy.
The August collision involved a black hole with a mass of
about 31 times that of the Sun, and another with 25 solar
masses. Once the two crashed, they created a black hole
with a mass of 53 solar masses. In line with earlier
gravitational wave detections, the remaining three solar
masses transformed into the gravitational waves the
scientists detected. The August observations were the result
of Virgo’s August 1 debut, a new gravitational wave
detector in Italy built by the European Gravitational
Observatory.
Earlier detections of gravitational waves were made by
LIGO, a pair of L-shaped antennas in Louisiana and
Washington. Since LIGO first detected the waves in
February 2016 — confirming Albert Einstein’s prediction
and verifying the nature of black holes — the scientists
working with LIGO have been searching for more insights
into the universe. Although the newer Virgo antenna is
only one-fourth as sensitive as the LIGO antennas, the
network can now triangulate the sources of gravitational
waves, allowing optical telescopes to search for any
accompanying visible effects sparking in the night sky.
The astronomers will continue working to improve their
instruments until fall of 2018 when their next observation
run will begin. LIGO Scientific Collaboration spokesman
David Shoemaker told the New York Times : “This is just the
beginning of observations with the network enabled by
Virgo and LIGO working together. With the next observing
run planned for Fall 2018, we can expect such detections
weekly or even more often.”

Politics / Hot Arguments Between Head Of Service And Presidency Staffs Over Maina Case by OlubamzNews: 5:44am On Nov 02, 2017 |
Oyo-Ita, who had been queried by the Presidency over the
reinstatement of the wanted ex-pension task force
Chairman, Abdulrasheed Maina , is seen in the video
angrily gesticulating while talking to Kyari and Vice
President Yemi Osinbajo . It is believed that the argument
was about the Maina scandal. In a leaked memo to Kyari,
as a response to the query, Oyo-Ita had claimed that she
informed the President about plans by some top shots in
the government to have Maina reinstated, adding that she
warned against it. But she did not state Buhari's response
in the memo.

Health / How To Use Water Therapy To Cure Most Diseases by OlubamzNews: 5:17am On Nov 02, 2017 |
Drinking water in the morning is simple to put into practice, and virtually free! However, there are some important rules to remember. The basic protocol recommend by experts is as follows: 1. Immediately upon waking in the morning, drink 1.50 liters of water, which is equivalent to 5-6 glasses of water. 2. Do not eat or drink anything else for 1 hour prior to and after drinking the water. 3. Do not consume any alcoholic beverages the night before. At first, it may be difficult to drink 1.50 liters of water at one time; however, your body will gradually get accustomed to the protocol. When starting out, you may want to make it easier by modifying the protocol slightly, as follows: Drink 4 glasses, then pause for 2 minutes, then drink the last 2 glasses. It goes without saying that the better the quality of water you consume, the better the results you’ll experience from water therapy Read more @ www.olubamznews.com/2017/08/how-to-use-water-therapy-to-cure-most.html?m=1 |
