Hello,

I have been trying to use my UBA mastercard online on Facebook, paypal and they are not working. Facebook says "transaction on this card has been cancelled/declined, please try another card or contact your bank." Paypal says something like "we cannot link this card please try another card".

I have tried it several times, all showing the same thing. The only place the card works is in places like interswitch where there is a column for filling in your card pin.

Please, How can I resolve this issue?

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has granted pardon to 17 prisoners serving various jail terms in the state.

He equally commuted the death sentences on four other prisoners to life imprisonment. Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Governor, Mr. Adejuwon Soyinka, said this in a statement issued and signed in Abeokuta on Thursday.

Soyinka said that the gesture was part of activities marking the 2016 Democracy Day and June 12 remembrance anniversaries in Ogun State.

“Seventeen prisoners serving different jail terms in Ogun State have been granted pardon by the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun. Four others also have their death sentences commuted to life imprisonment,” Soyinka said.

According to the media aide, the Governor’s gesture was, “in line with the power conferred on him by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, as amended.”

He added that the gesture “is in exercise of the Governor’s power to grant prerogative of mercy to convicts as conferred by the Constitution of the country.”

Those granted amnesty by the Governor are: Wale Ibidapo Ogungbade, Emmanuel Obi, Oshilaru Abiodun, Wasiu Raimi, Abiola Samuel, Obi Moses, Abiodun Odedele, Ojo Wasiu, Lateef Bello, Dosu Sunday, Kayode Ogunsawo Sunday Agbehi, Stephen Kolade, Saburi Adebayo, Lekan Shodiya, Ogunsanya Segun and Tolani Ajayi.

TheCable News has exclusively reported that the body of late former Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi is now at Stella Obasanjo Hospital, Benin city, the Edo state capital for autopsy to finally determine the cause of his death.

It was gathered that the body of the football icon was moved on Thursday following demands for an autopsy by the family who are casting doubt on initial reports that he died from 'cardiac arrest'.

Recall that it was widely reported that Stephen Keshi died midnight late Tuesday night after reportedly complaining of 'unbearable pains' in his legs.

He was declared dead on arrival at the Faith Mediplex hospital, Airport Road, Benin. However, after his death, a statement released by Emmanuel Ado, his brother and manager, said Keshi 'suffered a cardiac arrest'.

Keshi’s brother-in-law, Ricky Aburime, insisted an autopsy needed to be done to determine the actual cause of death. He said Keshi’s nephew, Ebuka, who was with him had massaged him on the leg.

“After that his countenance changed and that was when we rushed him to hospital.

"One hour after that massage his nephew who was with him said his countenance change and showed sign of depression and he complained that he didn’t like the way he was feeling and called Ebuka and they rushed him to Faith Mediplex.

“But unfortunately he was brought in dead. This happened between 11:30pm to 12.00pm. The doctor confirmed that Stephen was dead after doing their check-up. Since he wasn’t a patient in the hospital, protocol would not allow them to write any report or give a death certificate.

“They said we should go and get the police which we did and they inspected the body and took the picture before they took him to the mortuary. For better preservation we are moving his body to Stella Obasanjo hospital. We will still do a proper press conference as it is befitting his personality.

“We are not embalming now until the experts come and do the proper toxicology on the body. At that point, we lay everything to rest. We don’t want to speculate because we are not medical experts. When Nar Kumari held her little boy for the first time, he couldn't have been more perfect. Smiling back at her, Ramesh looked like any other bouncing baby boy.

But just 15 days after she got him home, her son's skin began to peel and was replaced by thick, black scales which have been slowly and painfully entombing him since.

His rare skin disorder is slowly turning him into a stone statue has robbed the 11-year-old of his ability to walk and even talk.

Ramesh's scaly appearance meanwhile terrifies other children, leaving him isolated and with no friends.

And for a long time it seemed there was no hope for a cure, leaving his desperate mother and her husband Nanda helpless to do anything besides watch him slowly turn to stone.

Nanda told MailOnline: ‘His skin started peeling off 15 days after he was born and then new skin began to grow very thick.
'It hardened and turned black, we had no idea what to do about it. No one helped us.'

In fact, doctors in Baglung, the remote Nepalese region where the family live, seemed bemused by what they told them was a 'fungal infection' and said they couldn't help.

All the while, Ramesh was getting worse.

‘By this fifth birthday he began to say his body was in pain and he couldn’t walk,' said Nanda. 'He’s never really been able to explain anything to us either.

'He is only able to inform us when he’s hungry or wants to use the toilet. He used to sit and cry but we didn’t know what was hurting him or how to help him.

‘Any young child would see him and run away crying. It was hard for him and us to watch.’

By age six, the condition had left him unable to walk, and so he has never been to school.

Even when Nanda, 35, and Nar, 26, did discover the cause, an extremely rare condition called Ichthyosis, they were unable to do anything to ease their son's suffering.

Nanda is a labourer who earns just 7,000 Nepalese Rupee (£44) a month, and it is not enough to cover the cost of the hefty medical bills.

He explained: ‘We took him to a few doctors in our district but we were told that treatment was costly and only available in private hospitals.
'We did not have enough money and had no choice than to keep Ramesh home and do our best.’

But then help came from an unexpected source - British singer Joss Stone.

Ramesh's luck changed when a video of him struggling was shared on social media - and it was spotted by the acclaimed Nepalese singer Sanjay Shrestha, who happened to be helping Stone organise a concert.

‘I got an email from Joss’ team saying they wanted to perform here and said they wanted to support a local charity.

'In the meantime, I saw a video on social media about this poor boy so I sent them the link and she immediately decided to help him.’

The concert in Kathamandu raised £1,375 for his treatment through the Joss Stone Foundation.

But that wasn't enough for the Devon singer, and she met with Ramesh the next day, spending nearly two hours with the little boy, giving him gifts, including cuddly toys and chocolates.

Sanjay said: ‘Joss was extremely moved by Ramesh’s plight. She got really emotional seeing him. She spent a long time playing and interacting with him. Ramesh was overjoyed by the presents.’

For his parents, the help has been a blessing - both for their son, and the wider family.

Nanda said: ‘We’ve never known how to help him. His mother spends the entire day with him, which makes it difficult for her to focus on our other kids.

'She cannot work either and she used to cry alone feeling bad for him.’

Ramesh is now receiving treatment at the Kathmandu Medical College, where doctors remain hopeful they may be able to make his life easier.

Dr Sabina Bhattrai, assistant dermatology professor, explained: ‘People with his condition suffer from dry, thick, scaly or flaky skin. In many cases, people have cracked skin which resemble the scales on a fish.

'He was in a really bad state when he was admitted. We had to remove the scales from his body and it was painful.

A man has been stabbed to death by his brother over a girlfriend in Awka, Anambra State. The dead brother identified as Julius Alagwu was a student of Applied Biochemistry at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka (UNIZIK). A 26-year-old woman in Zambia’s Luwingu district has given birth to pure hair, according to the Luwingu District Medical Officer, Dr Ernest Mutale.
The Zambia National Information Services (ZANIS) on Wednesday reported the woman had been 10 months pregnant and she gave birth to pure hair and a little blood.
According to Dr Mutale, the woman, a Ms. Mwape, was referred to Luwingu District Hospital from Chikoyi rural health centre after she gave birth to something that looked like Brazilian hair.
Mutale explained that Mwape is a mother of two children and this bizarre pregnancy was her third.
He said that after a medical check-up, Mwape narrated that she was feeling as though the pregnancy was normal as she would feel the baby kicking in her womb.
The Luwingu District Medical Officer said that Mwape attended ante-natal regularly but her medical records showed that there were no irregular movements.
He said that the medical team suspected Mwape had a molar pregnancy but after several medical check-ups results showed that it was not.
Report says Mwape is still admitted to Luwingu District Hospital waiting further medical check-ups.

An unhinged Vermont woman blasted her firearms instructor in the jaw and left him for dead, state police said.
Veronica Lewis, 31, unloaded on Darryl Montague on Monday during her second lesson, authorities said.

Montague, who ran Vermont Target Sports out of his Westford home, was found lying by the side of the road by a relative.

The family member thought he’d been hit by a car, but investigators later discovered he’d been shot twice in the jaw and once in the abdomen.

Fifty year old comedian Ali Baba, who is regarded as the godfather of Nigerian comedy says he does not feel threatened by younger comedians in the business.
Ali Baba who clocked fifty years old last week said there is no reason for him to feel threatened.

"Why should I be threatened by them? how would I be giving them jokes? If I were, I won’t give them my jokes, and I would tell them not to use my jokes. I make jokes and give to some of them. So, there is nothing like being threatened by them" he said in an interview with Punch.

The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has stated that two workers employed by the former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Albert Ilemobade, have confessed to killing their boss.

Ondo State Police Commissioner, Isaac Eke, made the disclosure on Sunday evening in an exclusive interview he gave to a correspondent of SaharaReporters in Akure, the state capital. According to the police commissioner, the late professor’s driver and gateman confessed to police investigators to killing Mr. Ilemobade. The police boss identified the two suspects simply by their first names. One, Daniel, served as the late VC’s gateman while the other, Yemi, was the deceased academic’s driver.

The decayed remains of the former VC were discovered early on Sunday in a detached area of his large compound, according to an earlier report by this website. The alleged murderers told police that they killed Professor Ilemobade inside his compound, and then they fled.

“They confirmed to our men during interrogation that they strangled the professor to death and decided to dump his dead body at an abandoned store in the family’s expansive compound before taking to their heels and making away with his vehicle,” Mr. Eke said.

There were reports a week ago that the former university administrator was abducted along with his gateman and taken to an unknown destination.

Following news of Mr. Ilemobade’s abduction, the police had launched a manhunt for his purported abductors, unaware that he had been murdered and his dead body dumped inside a store in his compound close to a garage.

“The body [of the former VC] was found decomposed when our officers broke into the store where he was kept,” Mr. Eke said.

The police commissioner also disclosed that a team of security agents led by police officers from the Ogun State Command arrested the two domestic employees.

He said the two men were caught as they tried to sell off a red Toyota Rav4 SUV reportedly stolen from Mr. Ilemobade’s residence in Ijapo, near Akure.

“Our men from the Ogun State Command arrested the two [suspects] while they were negotiating a price for sale of their boss’s vehicle which they had stolen from him the day we thought he was kidnapped,” said Mr. Eke.

Asked how detectives found the former VC’s body, the police commissioner revealed that his command acted on a signal and immediately deployed officers to comb the compound.

According to Mr. Eke, the two suspects are being held in police custody. He added that police investigators continue to interrogate the suspects as the investigation into the tragic event continues.

SaharaReporters also learned that the remains of the 78-year old former professor of veterinary medicine had been deposited at a hospital.

The deceased vehicle was later recovered in Ogun state.

The police are scheduled to address a press conference on the matter on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 9 a.m. at the police headquarters on Igbatoro Road, Akure.

A former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, Prof. Albert Ilemobade, who was reported to have been kidnapped last week has been found dead.
He was allegedly killed by his gateman and driver who later dumped his body in the garage in his house at the Ijapo area of Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Ilemobade was earlier reportedly abducted by unknown gunmen on June 22 together with his gateman and driver. Since then, there had been no information about his whereabouts until Sunday when his decomposed body was found in his house.
Speaking about the incident, Ven. Ayodeji Fagbemi, who is the vicar of the deceased’s church, said some policemen from the Ondo State Police Command called him after the church service on Sunday that he should come to the house of Ilemobade at Ijapo.
He said, “I rushed down there only to see the driver and the gateman of Prof Ilemobade leading the policemen to the place where the deceased’s remains were kept after being killed.
“The driver, Yemi, and the gateman, Daniel, confessed to the policemen that they were the ones that killed the former VC and poured diesel on him to cover the odour of the decomposed body.”
The clergyman further explained that the policemen had removed the remains and deposited them at a mortuary for further investigation.
When contacted on telephone, the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Isaac Eke, said the driver and the gateman of the deceased had been arrested.
Eke said, “We have arrested two suspects in connection with the incident and we are going to parade them at the command on Monday (today).”

A Beninoise, Kwenume Ojo, aka Abiodun, has been arrested by men of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly killing her husband, Jimoh Ojo, 32, in the Yaba area of the state.
According to Punch, Kwenume put poison in her husband’s soft drink and forced it down his throat while he slept on the bed. Punch gathered that the 17-year-old suspect took the poison from a relative of her boyfriend after she was forced to marry Jimoh.
The incident happened on Friday on Apolo Street, the Makoko area of Lagos.
When Punch's correspondent visited the area, he met a crowd of residents and family members who said the victim’s corpse had been deposited in a mortuary.
It was learnt that the suspect had been arrested by policemen from the Adekunle Police Division. Jimoh’s in-law, Rotimi Akinlagun, explained that the deceased was retarded, which made it difficult for him to get a wife. He said his marriage to Kwenume was arranged by the two families.
He said, “Jimoh was a carpenter. When he was born, he fell sick and that affected his health as he became retarded.
“When he became mature, we decided to get him a wife. We started asking around for anybody who could give him a wife.
“Kwenume’s father heard and he contacted Jimoh’s family. He gave them Kwenume to become Jimoh’s wife. She had no choice in the matter.”
Kwenume’s father took the decision to prevent her from marrying her boyfriend, who he did not like. The dislike, it was gathered, stemmed from the maltreatment of Kwenume’s sister, who was married into the boyfriend’s family.
“She was brought to me and we took her to Jimoh’s hometown in Yewa, Ogun State. He was going there to make love with her. After six months, she became pregnant and we brought her back to Lagos State.
“The couple moved into a new apartment to start a new family. Their apartment was close to my house so I could monitor them. Abiodun (Kwenume) was assisting my wife to sell food at her canteen,” Rotimi added. After giving birth to a baby girl, christened Hannah, the suspect became attracted to her former boyfriend and she started visiting him. She was said to have met his elder brother, Wensu, a herbalist, who allegedly gave her the poison to put in her hubby’s drink so she could marry the unidentified boyfriend. Jimoh’s elder sister, Modupe Akinlagun, said the victim had returned from work on the fateful Friday and visited her shop to get food.
She said, “He dished the food himself and ate. After eating, I asked him to go home and rest. When his wife returned from an errand I sent her, I asked her to also return home with her baby.
“I was still there when his wife came to call me that he had slumped in the toilet.
“When we got there, people had surrounded him and were pouring palm oil into his mouth. He was vomiting the oil and a white substance. He kept saying, ‘Iya Hannah has killed me, she opened my mouth and poured drug inside.’
“Iya Hannah (Kwenume) denied Jimoh’s accusation, but he insisted that she forced the poison down his throat.”
Another relative explained that Kwenume put the poison in a bottle of drink that the victim had brought home to share with her.
He said, “They usually shared their food and drinks together. After he finished eating at the canteen that day, he bought a bottle of drink and drank half. He took the remaining home to share with his wife.
“It was when she returned that she put the poison in the drink. She then forced it down his throat.”
Modupe’s husband said Jimoh died around 11.30pm on Friday.
He said the community elders took Kwenume aside to press her for information on where she got the poison.
He said after some time, she confessed to the crime, adding that she collected the poison from her boyfriend’s brother who lived in the Sogunro, Iwaya area of the state.
He said, “Around 3am on Saturday, a policeman, together with some of our people went to get the man.”
The two suspects were said to have been kept till dawn until a team of policemen from the Adekunle division arrived in six vans.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident, adding that it had been transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation.
