President Buhari was sworn in on May 29, 2015, and has since then been accused of being too slow in taking important decisions concerning his administration. Buhari has been especially criticized for his delay in appointing ministers, an action which many believe has prevented his administration from actually taking off. However, the President has taken some important steps since assuming office. 5 of them are: 1. Visiting Chad and Niger for talks on Boko Haram. 2. Attending and taking a place of honour at the G7 summit where he secured the help of the US and the UK for the fight against terrorism. 3. Relocating Military Command Centre to Maiduguri to intensify the fight against Boko Haram. 4. Ordering the removal of military checkpoints across the country. 5. Dissolving the board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). http://naijasweetgist..com/2015/06/5-major-steps-buhari-has-taken-since.html

Authorities of the Presidential Villa, Abuja have formally removed officials of the Department of State Services from spots where they can perform “close protection roles” for President Muhammadu Buhari. The decision to restrict the officials’ access to the President was the peak of the inter-agency rivalry that has been rocking security agencies in the seat of power since Buhari was inaugurated on May 29. Punch's correspondent on Thursday saw a copy of a memo redeploying the DSS officials from 10 beats that they had hitherto been manning inside the Villa. The memo issued by the Aide-De-Camp to the President, Lt. Col. Lawal Abubakar, and dated June 24, 2015 was titled, “Redeployment of Department of State Services personnel from close protection roles for Mr. President and some duty locations within the Presidential Villa, Abuja.” Abubakar explained that the decision to strip the DSS officials of their roles was part of efforts to enhance security within the villa. He said the development was necessitated by “recent events.” He however did not disclose what the events were. The ADC directed personnel of the Armed Forces and the Nigeria Police who he said were trained as presidential body guards to take over the DSS officials’ duties of providing “close and immediate protection” for the President with immediate effect. He listed the beats and locations from where DSS officials were withdrawn and replaced with PBGs to include the administrative reception and passage; service chiefs’ gate; residence reception; resident gate and office reception. “However, the personnel of the DSS in conjunction with other security forces are to man other duty beats and locations within the immediate outer perimeter of the Presidential Villa,” the ADC wrote. Meanwhile, officials of the DSS who were chased away from their beats on Wednesday were also not allowed access to their duty posts when they resumed work on Thursday morning. Their beats had already been taken over by plain-clothed military personnel. Many of them were seen under the trees discussing the development in hush tones. Those who were manning the two of the gates leading to the villa as well as the gate of the old Banquet Hall were however not affected as they were seen at their duty posts... http://naijasweetgist..com/2015/06/dss-officials-finally-barred-from-close.html

A 20-year-old Kenyan woman, has confessed to killing three children, one of them her one-week old son, removed his intestines and ate them raw, reports Nairobi News. The woman who lives in Korogocho, a slum in Nairobi, is said to have have slit open her week-old son’s stomach, removed his intestines and ate them before going to her friend’s house and killing two other children. The friend, Nelius Muthoni, told the police that the vampire woman came to her house in the morning and attacked her by trying to strangle her. “She kept asking me why I named my son Peter Kimani and asked if I knew that my mother-in-law had been eating me. She said a lot of things and even said that there were demons inside me. I ran out of the house to seek help from neighbours and when they arrived, they found her holding my 10-days-old son by the neck and under her feet was my 4-year-old daughter. She was stepping on her neck. The neighbours pushed her out of the house and tried to help the children but they were announced dead at a nearby clinic." When she was pushed out of the house, the woman is said to have run to the Korogocho Administration Police post where she reported that she had killed her child. A police officer said: “As we were interrogating her, neighbours who learnt that Muthoni’s children had died, also came here. They wanted to beat her but we shielded her." A neighbour who was at the police post said the woman did not seem shaken and even asked for a soda at some point. The police have also concluded plans to take her for a medical examination to ascertain her state of mental health... http://naijasweetgist..com/2015/06/photo-woman-kills-3-children-eats-their.html

Two more armed robbery suspects were given the jungle treatment as they were burnt to death by an angry mob in Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, barely two weeks after two suspects were also set ablaze after they robbed an Hausa trader at the New Tyres Market. The incident that led to the recent jungle justice came when the robbers armed with pistols, trailed a woman on a commercial motorcycle with money in a 'Ghana-must-go' bag that she was taking to the bank. The suspects allegedly snatched the money from the woman believed to be the cashier of a local bank branch in the town. After snatching the money, the shot sporadically into the air and in a bid to zoom off, they had an accident with their own motorcycle and the woman and other passer-by who saw the incident raised alarm, alerting a passing police patrol team who went after the hoodlums. Eyewitnesses report that on sighting the police, the suspects fired shots at the them and the police replied but the bullets did not pierce their bodies but they were overpowered by the crowd which dispatched the jungle treatment on them, burning them to ashes... http://naijasweetgist..com/2015/06/2-robbers-set-ablaze-after-bullets.html

Bayelsa State-born Timi Dakolo has become a household name in the Nigerian music terrain. He is the winner of the first season of Idols West Africa in 2007 and some years down the line, it is difficult to argue against the fact that the ‘Iyawo Mi’ singer has cemented his position as an A-list act in the highly competitive Nigerian music setting. The soul musician grew up in Port Harcourt before moving to Lagos to pursue his music career. In an interview with NetNG, he shared his compelling story of growing up in the Garden City. What’s the new project you are working on? I am working on music. I have been recording. I have loads of songs that I am working on. I dropped the video of ‘Iyawo Mi’ not quite long ago and I have also released the video of my new song titled ‘Wish Me Well’. The song chronicles the story of my life. The story of how I came from Port Harcourt to Lagos. It’s the real story of my journey. I have truck load of songs that I will release in my album titled Love and Consequences. When is the album coming out? Very soon. Me and my producer, Cobhams (Asuquo) are seriously working on it. We will finish up the album any moment from now. Cobhams produces most of your songs, why do you always work with him? Because he understands music a lot. Sometimes music comes to me in form of humming and I won’t have words for it. The first person I call is Cobhams. For example , I got the inspiration for ‘Wish Me Well’ when I was playing video game with a friend of mine, so he was winning me and I wasn’t happy about it, because I hate to lose . All of a sudden, I started humming and then it sounds good. I then went to Cobhams and I told him this is how I want the song to sound and he said ‘don’t worry’. We talked about the songs for days and we were able to come up with good words for the song. Cobhams is a genius. It was difficult for you to gain acceptance initially because of your kind of music. Many thought you would switch to a more commercial kind of music but it never happened. Did you at anytime think of changing your style of music during that period? Trust me, I am a very stubborn person. I have been a rigid person right from childhood. If I am doing a wrong thing, I can make you believe it is right. I was brought up to believe in what I feel is right for me. My grandma used to tell me that: ‘when you have an idea and nobody believes in it, trust me everybody can be wrong. Your idea might just be right, but you have not sold it enough for them to buy.’ When I say this is the kind of music I want to do people were like ‘it won’t sell in Nigeria’ but I believe good music will sell regardless of the style you use, the message is what will sell it. It is easier to do less publicity for good music, you don’t really need to force people to listen to it, once it’s good, it will fly. So I have always known people will accept my music. One thing that stands you out is your powerful voice; we would like you to tell us the secret behind it? Trust me, na God give me the voice. I have never gone for any voice training in my life. I don’t even know what voice training entails. The only thing I did that I know also helped my voice is I read that voice is like a muscle, the more you stretch it, the bigger and better it takes shape. Is it true that your mum is a Ghanaian? Yeah, my mum is a Ghanaian; I was even born in Ghana, Accra precisely. My Ghanaian name is Kwabna, meaning that I was born on Tuesday. I was born at the Legon Teaching Hospital. I have relatives in Ghana, my grandparents and my cousins are in Ghana. Do you speak any Ghanaian language then? No, I don’t. I came back to Nigeria 9 months after my birth. I grew up in Port Harcourt. How was growing up for you in a place like Port Harcourt? I grew up with my grandmother in Port Harcourt. I grew up to know that my grandmother was my only parent. She used to have a shop at Mile 3 market in Port Harcourt. After school, I would join her at the market. I hawked pure water, plantain chips etc. I did a lot of hustling as a young boy. But the truth is, what I went through while growing up made me who I am today, the experience taught me that hard work pays. When exactly did music start for you? It started after Idols competition, trust me. I wasn’t doing music before then. Even during the competition, I never knew I could get anywhere. I was always like who will vote for me? I felt I couln’t get to the final because nobody knew me. But I was hoping to be back every week so that I can eat free food and enjoy the air-conditioner. But along the line I realised that I have this connection with people when I am singing. So I said to myself, what is worth doing is worth doing well. At a point, I began to put effort and I was rehearsing as if my life depended on it and I found myself in the final and I won. You are one of the heavyweights in modern Nigerian music today, would you say winning West African Idol helped you get your big break? The big break didn’t come immediately after Idol. Despite that fact that I won the competition, it was very tough for me when I started my career. I had problems such that I didn’t know my left from right. It was very tough for me and winning the competition put a huge pressure on me, people were expecting me to hit the ground running but nothing was happening. I wasn’t releasing songs; I didn’t even know where to go from there. I later met Cobhams, I told him I may not have money to pay you now but I will pay you someday, let’s start making music and that was how my story changed. You live in your own house in Lekki and your garage houses latest automobiles. How do you make your money because people barely see you perform at the major shows in Nigeria? I make my money from shows. Because you don’t see me on these publicised music concerts doesn’t mean I don’t get shows. I make money performing at corporate events. I get paid well for performing at birthday and private parties.. http://naijasweetgist..com/2015/06/i-once-hawked-plantain-chips-pure-water.html

An angry father who did not want a young man to have anything to do with his daughter has killed the poor bury and connived with the police to bury his body. The River Basin Authority, Mile 8 area of Calabar, Cross River State, has been thrown into total confusion as one, Godwin Elewana, has been accused of murdering a 22-year-old boy, Douglas Ojugbo, for daring to have love affairs with his daughter on March 10, 2015. Not done with shooting the boy to death, Elewana who is siad to be very influential in the community, connived with the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area and hurriedly buried the dead body in a shallow grave at night. According to eyewitnesses who narrated the incident to Cross River Watch, Elewana is described as a very and troublesome man, killed Ojugbo because he did not approve of the deceased relationship with his daughter. A resident reported: "The girl’s father had warned the small boy not to come near the daughter again. That is what we were made to understand but the two of them could not leave themselves and we hear that it is because of that that the man decided to take that horrible action. On that fateful evening, we saw the man running after the boy who was panting and running but the man caught up with him around the basin authority gate there and shot him with a gun. After shooting him, he dragged him into his car and drove off. All of us were running for our dear lives because like I said, that man is dangerous and everyone around know him for that." After shooting the boy in the arm and leg, Elewana reportedly allowed the boy to bleed to death in his car and drove the corpse to the Federal Housing Police station in Calabar, where the DPO ordered that the boy's body be taken to the Goldie Cemetery and buried without an autopsy or investigation carried out or the parents of the victim informed. read more ... http://naijasweetgist..com/2015/03/wicked-father-murders-daughters-lover.html

My name is Ezekiel Amadi, I have been dating this girl for over three years now all I get is " I hate sex". At first I thought she was just forming but as time went on the problem persist. She always tells me "if I give you too much sex u will get tired of me" I love her so much. Even when I get angry she just manage to go once and that is all for the whole month. I thought she has been seeing someone else but I discovered am the only one so I went ahead and engaged her. That same month I engaged her she told me that the reason why she hates sex was that "she was forcefully raped by her boyfriend when she was a teenager and she lust her virginity then" So anytime she has sex with me she still remembers that and that sex makes her remember every bit of what happened that day. After telling me this she promised to be having it with me. Now my worry is she does not initiate it. She does not like pre-intimacy. Always saying not in the mood. I love this girl but should I marry her? How do I cope with this sex thing if I marry her?... http://naijasweetgist..com/2015/03/what-should-i-do-my-fiancee-does-not.html

19 year old Kelly McKinney (left) claims that Manchester United star Andreas Pereira (right) offered her £10,000 for a party with him and another Man U player, Paddy McNair, (middle). The girl, a Brazilian, told The Sun that she met Andreas and Paddy at a Man. U Christmas party in December 2014 and shared drinks and jokes with them and another friend. She said after the party, Andreas asked if she wanted to go home with him, but she turned it down only to receive a text later from the footballer begging her for a steamy meet-up. Kelly claims Andreas, also 19, then offered her £10,000, if she would let McNair join in. Kelly said Andreas texted her via WhatsApp after tracking her down via Twitter following the meeting at the Christmas party. She said when Andreas asked if Paddy could join in, she asked him what he meant by that, to which he allegedly responded: "party. Will take care of u. U want? How much. Tell me. We were ready to pay 5each." Kelly said; "I nearly fell off my chair when he offered me £10,000 for a party. What kind of low-life does that? I’m not that kind of person at all and found it very, very insulting.” continue reading ... http://naijasweetgist..com/2015/03/19yr-old-student-claims-man-u-player.html
