In the first place, it's heartwarming to have a different boss in the glass house for once. Tired of the old tried and distrusted hands. This young guy Amaju comes well recommended for Nigerian football by bigwigs in the English FA. On paper, he is the man, however I hope what is written on paper matches the story people share about him after his 4 years or else the recommendation and paper is only worth sanitizing my buttocks after a good satisfying dump. |
As for the winner-Geoffrey, I think he is way ahead of the other contestants in terms of everything but connection with audience. In this, Christian trumps him. Talk about vocal beauty and inventiveness, choreography strength and inventiveness, etc. He did well with other people's music, especially Majek Fashek's evergreen, "Genesis" and when it was time to dish his own composition, his song was melodious without sacrificing message and lyrical strength. Need I say more? Christian and Clement obviously struggle with their vocal reach, and Christian's own composition is not all that. As for Ruky, I am a little bit mixed up, but if she is the one that composed the "Tinko" song, then her runner-up spot is well and honestly earned. That song, as rightly echoed by Bibbie Brew, is different and funky. Moreover, Emeka's composition is not top notch, it was one of the weaker compositions. |

Tval: Goal.com keeps pushing him out of d bridge. It's funny though to know that it was Mou who was in charge when Cech wrestled the starting goalkeeper gloves from Cudicini. He is also the architect of a possible take-over. Top clubs in Europe are currently not short of first class stoppers, I hope Cech stays to fight for his shirt in Stamford, where he is simply adored. |
Ashantiking: Did Nigeria send doctors to Liberia, guinea or Sierra Leone I think not. If Ghana decides to send doctors, they should send them to Liberia and other small countries because they need more help than Nigeria. First Nigeria has enough doctors to battle the disease and second the disease is not as widespread in Nigeria like the other three countries.Nigeria may not have sent doctors but she aided in other ways (financially, for one). The vibes emanating from Ghana, especially from her health minister does not paint the country as charitable at all. It actually sounds like "As long as Ghana is okay" to me. I don't know what it sounds like to you. Moreover, why didn't those volunteers reason that Nigeria has enough doctors? There was not a show of solidarity from Ghana at all |
SantaMafia: true brother? drink more salt water. Please stay out of the discussion of two reasonable and sane adults. Ashantiking is making some sense while you are just loving the sound of your voice. Respect yourself, moreover if you are reasonable, you wouldn't wish a dreadful thing like the virus on a human like you. |
Ashantiking: Yet when a problem occurs in west Africa it is Ghana that most countries seek refuge. Ghana is where most west Africans send their kids for education. Ghana is where most west african send their people for healthcare. Ghana has done and continues to do a lot for west Africa just because we don't beat our chest and boost of what we have done like Nigeria doesn't mean we don't care.1. The aids metted out by Nigeria far exceeds that of Ghana and I am not beating my chest about it, only laying out facts. Nigeria is not called "African big brothers" for nothing. 2. Citizens of other countries who sends their wards to Ghana schools pay for the services rendered, it is not free. 3. I would consider Ghana's first reaction to news of the virus in Nigeria as a understandable classic panic reaction to such a critical situation. But after the panic, should there not be solidarity in the fighting of the scourge. We have other countries sending medical experts to help, where are Ghana's volunteers? Where is our beloved West Africa brothers? Or is it solely our battle now? 4. It is in times of needs you know a true brother. If a brotherly love is professed, then it should equally be shown. 5. The news that Ebola is not in Ghana is a brilliant one, but a news that two great African neighbours and brothers join hands together to avert a dangerous situation will be a more brilliant one. |
SantaMafia:My reply to your comment is a well-laid trap to know if you are worth speaking to. MY DIAGNOSIS is you are not worth my time and even my phone battery. Check my comment, did I call you a single offensive name? NO. Next time, I will be more careful and desist from replying every dick and harry. Now I will leave you to continue your exhibit your uncouth attitude. P.S. The next time you are opportuned to come to Nigeria, take a tour of Nnewi, and watch your mouth hang loose at the efficiency before your very eyes. Bye Gentleman?? |
SantaMafia: in your stvpid myopic mind you wrote something sensible, huh? since when did nigeria supply Ghana with electrcity? I guess you are talking about the natural gas your country supplies to Ghana? well, I guess you want to say nigeria supplies gas to America, Italy, Korea and all the other countries that buy natural gas from your country, huh? you dont even know the difference between natural gas and electricity?Gentleman, it is a fact that Nigeria is an emerging force in the automobile industry which prompted a recent visit by a female Ghanaian minister of transportation (or commerce, not too sure about the cabinet) to the Nnewi autoyard at Anambra state of Nigeria. I wouldn't know why you have not spotted the Nigerian-made machines in Ghana, but the fact of their production is unassailable. |
I am sure no Nigerian on this forum can be caught touting Nigeria as the model nation which other countries should follow. Far from it. But, on the issue of containment of this virus, the country, especially, Lagos State has done remarkably well. If you fail to see that, you are only being downright silly. Just like a big brother should do, Nigeria has smoothed over the bumps caused by Liberia's (and probably Togo and Ghana) act of carelessness. If you also can't admit this, you are also being silly. Closing borders is not a good-enough solution, you can close your door as tight as you like when there is a raging fire on your roof. We can only join hands and condemn #Ebola to a final rest in pieces! |
NITROGENN: Mumu illiterate. so does that mean he came into contact with everybody on board?Mumu. When it comes to such a disease that is easily transmitted, extreme precautions are most welcome. He may have not come in contact with all aboard but may have come into contact with that one carrier that matters i.e., the carrier who might in turn come into contact with other people. When it comes to transmittable diseases such as Ebola, one person contacting the disease may be as bad as thirty. You cannot be too careful. |
How come Ghana felt free to send delegates to Nigeria when the Nnewi autoyard starts churning out automobiles. But when a critical case like Ebola came up they close shop and kept their medical personnels (that could have been of help) away. What does that say about their attitude? |
Honestly, I've always associated that "my neighbour may die, I don't care" attitude with Ghana. Well, it is not their fault, it is our irresponsible leaders that sold us for six kobo. |
Yes Yes Yes, Nigeria has a lot of footballers plying their trades in the top leagues in Europe. However, we cannot start inviting these players in droves because the team has a lot of upcoming commitments, starting with the AFCON qualifiers. An utter tampering with the team will be highly detrimental. But wait oh, which player will want to jump into the current NFF burning fire? |
So far so good. This is the first forum I have seen in a long time that is not characterized by foul mouthed contributions. Go Nairaland! |
I only hope there is another Blessing Okagbare in the making in Nigeria's athletics scene. Though Okagbare still have years on her, she will have to pass the baton on in the nearest future. Talents dey waste! |
Adequate investigations has to be made concerning the performance (or should we call it non-performance?) of the Nigerian Shooting team who went, saw, and due to reasons yet unknown, failed to compete. |
Be it diuretics or performance enhancers, artificial substances are derived from natural ones, most of the time. One of the ingredients of "Zobo" might actually be a diuretic. Who knows? So enough of the "Whites-hates-blacks" conspiracy theories, the fact at hand is that she was warned against a substance that might contain an illegal component and she never heeded. |
I guess Ghana didn't close their borders tight and quick enough. We shall overcome! |

what a pity
how many megawatts of electricity is nigerian supplying to Ghana per day?
