nnamdijonathan: people in Obosi should stop painting their houses with brown paint, it makes them look dull. All the beautiful cities across the globe, at least the ones I have seen their pictures online, make use of bright colours like white, cream, and light grey which improves the beauty of not only the house but the entire city. I have also noticed that the top 5 beautiful cities in the world as voted for by individuals across the globe, are usually cities without skyscrapers and have thousands of 2 and 3 storey buildings just like what we currently have in Onitsha metro and Awka metro. You can check up for pictures of some of these cities online like Florence, Rome, Venice, Barcelona etc. Even the beautiful parts of Paris are the areas without high rise buildings. yes bro even in awka people don't use white or green paint their houses that' is very bad pls Anambra gov should pls start immediately control all those house owners In Awka and Onitsha to start using white and green paint pls Anambra cholo beautification now.

nnamdijonathan: The guys in the trend are the worst. You all destroy Enugu trend and Imo trend with 2004 - 2012 pictures and you are now destroying your own trend with abuses. The Enugu trend remains the best Igbo trend on Nairaland in terms of orderliness and less divisive discussions while the Imo trend is the Igbo trend with the most beautiful pictures back to back with good houses and environment. This Anambra trend is the worst Igbo trend on Nairaland, it has the least number of beautiful pictures, the environment in the pictures are ugly, no plan for eco system in Anambra, the trend is also, by far, the most divisive trend on Nairaland and full of hate for fellow Igbos and I just sit and imagine how useless this Anambra trend will be if those Imo and Enugu guymmmm retaliate and derail this already divisive trend. Let me make it clear that if all these divisive di on this trend, I will personally derail the trend until it finally abandoned and I will ensure that no Anambra trend will eme being there to totally derail it. As long as this Anambra has turned to a trend to discriminate against Wawa, Abakaliki, Owerri and Aba people, I will derail this trend until it is finally abandoned for good. mumu man see wetin you dey write anu ofia from dead Abia

ANSMEDIA: South East Governors Urged To Stand Firm Against Land For Ranching 12 JULY 2018
More commendations have trailed the Southeast Governors' unanimous rejection of donation of land for ranching in the region. This was observed when the ABS engaged some of the state residents in an interview on the recent development, in Awka.
Reacting to the issue, the National President Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, Chief Alex Onukwue who is also the Deputy State President Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo, lauded the Southeast Governors on the decision, saying that the region as the area with the smallest land mass in the federation, has no land to donate to herdsmen and the federal government for ranching or the likes.
Chief Onukwue who described cattle rearing as a private business of a section of the country, urged the federal government to make provision for the herdsmen in the North as the northerners are the people with largest land mass and are domiciled in the business.
Contributing, the Head of Department History and International Studies, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Dan Chukwu, applauded the Governors for speaking the mind of the people, describing the decision as a right move.
Professor Chukwu observed that land donation or leasing has caused much problem in the country in the past, and urged the Governors to backup the decision with action, and to ensure that the implementation goes beyond Urban centers to checkmate the excesses of the herdsmen in the rural areas.
Also speaking, an Awka resident Mr. Chuma Omego, advised the Federal government to concentrate on how to put an end to the incessant killings in the country, not on how to better the business of a section of the country. that is good |

cjrane: It is a good idea to get all those trucks parking on the street in Harbour industrial estate to leave the street. However, saying they will be relocated to upper Iweka is another blatant lie. There is no land anywhere around Upper Iweka big enough for a truck park.
Part of the reason the expressway should be developed up to Awka is that it will make Nteje and areas like that accessible.
There is simply no more land at upper Iweka to attach even a Keke park.
We should get in the habit of thinking of city expansion towards Awka and towards Oba on Owerri road and Towards Nkwelle Ezunaka on Nkisi road.
The idea of relocating everything to Upper Iweka, Awka road, Oguta road simply shows the person is living in Onitsha of 1970s when there were still spaces in these places. Onitsha has since outgrown Awka road, Upper Iweka and Zik's roundabout. Onitsha is now a metro-polis and not the former "Onitsha inland town" around Ojedi road and Ugwunabamkpa. People living in Nkwelle Ezunaka now technically live in Onitsha metropolis. thank you bro moving those trucks at upper iweka is another dangerous movement ,upper iweka which I kmoe very busy no go area with too much traffic pls that can never be possible pls they should move those trucks else where not upper iweka. |

AmericanQuarter: Alhaji Danladi Ibrahim, Acting Managing Director, Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), said on Wednesday that the Baro Inland water port has been completed and ready for inauguration in August.
Ibrahim said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
According to him, all cargo equipment needed for the Baro port to commence operation are being installed and the concession of the Onitsha port will also be concluded.
“Baro port has been completed, the cargo handling the equipment is being installed right now.
“It is expected that by next month the port will be ready for commissioning while the concession of the Onitsha port will also be concluded.
“Any moment from now, the concessionaire will take over the Onitsha port.
“The work on Baro port has been on for more than three years now and when completed, it will create close to two million jobs.
“The port is the anchor of North West, North Central transportation and the port is linked to railway where cargo can be moved.
“Onitsha port will serve the South East Nigeria; in fact, Onitsha port will be the most viable port as over 60 per cent of cargo in Nigeria goes to Onitsha, so it is going to be a very busy port,” Ibrahim said.
He, however, said that Onitsha port would be concession based on government policy, that the private sector should be the operator while government will provide the infrastructure.
NAN reports that Baro Inland Water Port is located at Baro, Agaie Local Government, Niger State.
