Is it advisable to accept medicine admission in a yet to be accredited college of medicine or to continue OAU's pd programme with the hope of getting medicine @ d end.
Eksu(unad) just offered me admission to study medicine.. Though, she has a teaching hospital and she is working earnestly to get accreditation.
i am currently a predite in OAU. Pls, shud i quit the programme or opt for d medicine in EKSU(UNAD)?

you should first confirm if its possible to defer your admission at EKSU , if the school authorities at EKSU approve your decision, you can defer and continue with the P.D programme at OAU, you can also apply for admission to UTME again that way, you will have backup plans to fall back on and most importantly involve God in your plans...

U.I Peeps,This is true and confirmed, there was a meeting between the school management and stakeholders early yesterday morning and Rasheed Otegbola, President of Pharmacy who was present had this to say...
It is really appalling to see how much rumour has been propagated by these "chaos-peddlers­" who are apparently idle. There was no point during the meeting when any representative of the university management submit that accomodation fee shall be a particular amount.
The proposal to pay a sum ranging from N18,000 to N22,000 was made by the student union president after a poorly co-ordinated delibration amidst student representatives­ present. The VC finally recommended settling for the average figure (N20,000)
The decision to withdraw electric cookers and eliminate squatting in the halls where measures recommended by the VC to cut down power consumption which is the bane of the proposed accomodation fee increment as existing Federal Government regulations can no longer allow subsidization of accomodation by university management again. Such subsidy does not only hinder academic output adversely but also could incriminate the headship of the University management with anti-graft agencies.
As a palliative measure, the resuscitation of "the cafeteria system" has been proposed. Students would patronize the cafeteria until such time when the management could install electric meters in rooms to curtail excessive power consumption by students.
fresh students and final year students shall be prioritized in allocation of accomodation. Students shall only be admissible into the halls ONLY upon the production of their "hall ID card". Squatting shall be considered a gross misconduct which may earn culprits two to four semesters.
The VC also repeated several times that resumption for next session shall be 7th of January, 2013 and instructed the bursar to upload school fee for the session on the web immediately.
