Foreign Affairs › Re: Biden Seeks $33 Billion More For Ukraine, Girding For Longer War by omis1(m): 7:23pm On Apr 28, 2022 |
chronique: It will take years for them to do that. As a matter of fact, it's almost impossible in the next five years cos some of the countries where they intend to go and buy from, already have subsisting contracts to other countries. It's not like those ones have idle gas and oil sitting somewhere and waiting for buyers. Besides, some of them are already operating at optimal capacity. And then again, the logistics of building gas pipelines would take not less than 3 years to achieve. In the event that those suppliers have to leave their current customers to supply Europe, those customers would in turn have to look elsewhere and that's where Russia also comes in. Like I said, the only solution out is peace. One thing I know is slowly europe would move on from Russia oil,am sure they are already planning it, Germany prime minister said it’s gonna take til d end of d year. I hope d war is over soon and peace returns to d world |

oluobi: By the time the war is over, Ukraine would be in ruins. The country is the theatre of war between Russia and NATO. When two elephants(Russia and NATO) fight, the grass(Ukraine) suffers. maybe but usa and Canada are already proposing to use Russia seized foreign reserve to rebuild ukraine,I expect all other Europe countries that hold Russia asset to follow suit. Ukraine would lose people and property but the buildings would be replaced u can’t replace human life so I hope d war ends soon |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Biden Seeks $33 Billion More For Ukraine, Girding For Longer War by omis1(m): 7:10pm On Apr 28, 2022 |
chronique: But that isn't happening anytime soon. What will eventually happen is that russia focuses more on doing business with the Asia, the Middle east and Africa. Currently, the sanctions are not working and I think I read a report somewhere that said Russia has exported more oil and made more income from oil this period than before. It is not going to be sustainable in the long run for the global economy cos the inflation rate that keeps going up globally as a result of this war would get to a point where citizens would start revolting in all the countries affected. To be honest, peace is the only option. Sanction doesn’t work immediately, give it few months from now ,Russia biggest oil consumers are Europe countries. Except from China most of Russia so called allies don’t even have d purchasing power of uk not to talk of Germany who are there biggest customers and d rest of Europe . Pootin is even willing to sell to China and india with discount compared to Germany and d rest of Europe who buy without discount. I hope d war stops soon but by d end of d year when Europe moves on from Russia gas and oil it won’t be funny for Russia economy. |

No problem, I understand.... Na Buhari cause am.
So you believe Russia can continue manhandling Ukraine if their economy is crumbling on every side Abi ?
Nor bi who chop belle full dey fight war and continue the war...
If Western Sanctions hit them where it hurts do you think Putin would continue this War.....
The effect of the sanctions have been mixed so far..... but in the long run, it may hurt Russia badly.
Because of the European Union dependence on Russian Oil and Gas Putin's financial war chest is being refilled daily...
Forget about the money western nations freezed, Putin is making nothing less than 30 Billion Euros monthly from Oil and Gas sales to the European Union.
So my point is, as long as Putin's financial War chest is being refilled, the guy can continue to oppress non NATO countries...
If the money stops flowing, he would think twice and pause his War Crimes because he knows he has to pay salaries back home by end of d year d rest of Europe are goin to perfect there plan of moving away from Russia gas,how long do u think Russia will survive after that happens. Pootin would not want the war to drag for long |

grandstar: I expected Russia to have seized Ukraine within weeks. Tomorrow will mark the 2nd full month. The only major city it has captured is Mariupol. I felt that the conquest would be a breeze but nothing like that seems to be happening.
Thats the reality on ground. I have long changed my opinion due to events on ground. There's no point living in denial.
Russia may still advance further though. Fareed Zakaria of CNN worried that Putin might have changed tack and concentrating attacks on other flanks.
Russia should have taken Ukraine with 3 weeks. It chose a blitzkrieg model. The fact that's its achieved so little in all the information needed to deduce the frustrations Russian forces are facing.
It's amazing you refuse to accept Western media reports. These are reports from nations with an independent press unlike that of Russia.
Why not turn to ALJAZEERA, Indian or Chinese media outlets. You can also get information on Quora or Reddit which are decentralized information platforms where individuals air their well educated views.
Or you prefer news that support your narrative that Putin has crushed the puny Ukrainian army and has hoisted its flag in Kiev and has de-nazified Russia's enemies?
The UK Prime MINISTER, Boris Johnson stated there is a possibility that Russia would win the war but said it will be a slow and grinding and not the easy picking Putin expected. He expected the war to continue into next year. Thanks for schooling the pootin fanboy, according to them Russia a state with no independent media house are telling d truth but d west that has independent media house are the ones lieing |

TheWolfen: I bet it will feels like the world has come an end. The lightning can blind eyes. The massive heat can melt anything, the shockwave can send buildings tumbling down and even shatter glasses of people's building in neighboring cities, all these happens in seconds the moment the bomb lands ... Nuclear bombs are no joke.

railone: You guys just love to blame America for everything. If you're talking about Yemen and Libya, then you should know it's similar to what Russia is doing in Syria because both of those wars weren't started by the US, they only supported their allies but no, leave the main players and blame the US.
Iraq that was a UNSC resolution on which China and Russia sign off on, blame the US only for that too.
are you guys allergic to research, history and fact finding? It’s d way they always blame d usa and ukraine d victim that baffles me, Russia could start a ww3 that would destroy d world and this pootin fanboys will blame USA |

texazzpete: Yep. Russia even had to notify the US that they were testing the Missile so there’s no mistaking it for an actual hostile launch.
All the nuclear powers have their nukes on standby. And not just on land. America has multiple submarines carrying nukes, ready to launch even if the mainland is compromised.
Russia uses their nukes as a way to buy themselves a seat at the ‘superpower’ table. But conventionally, they’re nothing special as seen in Ukraine. In a conventional war they stand no chance against uk not to talk of usa nd d whole of nato, see how they are fumbling in ukraine. Nobody is mad enough to use a nuclear weapon,so pilling up nuclear bomb is just a waste when you should be developing your economy or ur conventional war arsenal, something USA has been doin. |

Rgade: I really wish this west una dey obsessed with would actually severe ties with Africa, I wish they would be caught up in a war that would take all their attention away from here and only then will you realize just how cursed your dark continent is. The heartless monsters you call leaders knowing that the little accountability they owe the international community is gone, will then descend on you and your family with full force. Come out and protest on the streets nah and see how far. All the face saving tactics pulled during the Lekki incident was because of US focus on the matter. Look at what soldiers are doing in the East because of little international coverage. I pray you get what you wish for. That liberation you’re praying for when it comes, it is still you that will swim all the way to New York. preacherdark: Dont say Russia is not ready. Its because its not a full blown war, if they start using nukes you will understand that its no joke at all. Nukes is no respecter of field combat. You might be winning a battle but just one Nuke at home will render you powerless. I just pray this war just end as it is u probably think nukes is just a normal bomb. Russia are not d only country with nukes and they are not resistant to nukes btw . To be a world power you have to be economically dominant and Russia are not even top 10 economy in d world |
