One of those that made comments already highlighted areas where you can work as a Geologist but if you are asking about the most lucrative, as it stands today, the oil and gas sector is the most lucrative.
More than 90% of those studying Geology are doing so with oil and gas sector in mind. The irony is that about 10% or evenless gain empemployment in the oil companies because they have to also compete with Electrical, mechanical and petroleum engineers.
If you want to build a career in the oil and gas sector, the preparation have to be from 100level to come out with an outstanding result(possibly first class or second class upper)
If age is on your side, you can proceed immediately for MSc in petroleum Geology or exploration geophysics while applying for any available job opportunities in oil companies.
But haven said this, pray for God's favour and the right connection.
The oil and gas sector is very competitive, you have to graduate with a very good result to be given a chance for test/intervew
There are other areas of Geology that are also lucrative though not as the oil and gas sector.
Like someone said, Hydrogeology, engineering Geology/geotechnics, environmental Geology but many divert their attention to oil and gas sector alone.

@op, Unilag minimum requirements for MSc is 2.2
Since you still fall within the range, you are good to go. Watch out for 2020/2021 pg application around May this year.
But prepare well for the entrance exam. The admission is merit-based. Cheers!

There is nothing like PDF as long as Nigeria is concerned. The agency responsible for this is Petroleum Trust Development Fund(PTDF) and the website is ptdf.gov.ng
I checked the age of pdfscholarship.eu and discoverd it's just been created.
Nigerian government will never create a website with .eu
But incase anyone wants to give it a trial, don't pay a dime and becareful not to fill in your BVN if required as part of Bank details.
But my instinct tells me it's scam.

The unilag pg admission list for 2018/2019 have been uploaded on the pg website through a link.Though some departments have not been uploaded..I guess its a gradual process
