BusinessBest Social Media Sites For Marketing And Business Growth by Omokowa(op): 3:11pm On Jun 17, 2018
We are in an era where social media sites has helped many business to grow. While some are grabbing this opportunity, many seems to be lost out there. Invest your time to social media marketing and see the result of your business boost within a specific time frame that is why internet marketers have taken their time to analyze and come up with sites you can invest your time on.

Why social media in the first place?

As we all know, social media can be used to connect to our friends and loved ones. Now imagine the visibility it can create if you decide to advertise your business on it and the wide spread of your business makes not only people who spend time often on these sites to see your brand and product, but also allows Google search engine to recognize your site and product.

Note that you must know your Audience (those who might be interested in what you are selling) in order to advertise your brand (websites, company, products)

Social media sites where you can advertise your products or brand include:

Facebook

Twitter

Google+

Youtube

Linkedln

Facebook

Facebook is one of the fastest growing site you can think of with large connections of people and businesses.

In Facebook, you can create a business page and group to keep your targeted audience in place. Also you can keep posting contents that portray your products as special which we call advertising. Try to boost your Facebook page or group in order to rank high in Google search as it will help to give your site the authority it deserves in Google’s ranking. Imagine if you are ranked high, the kind of audience you are going to get for your business

Twitter

Twitter is special all over the world for it tweets. It announces your brand through comments made on it with its hash tag which help to spread your comments wide. Though not popular like Facebook, you can always advertise your products here depending on the changes in the environment which enables your business to survive and adapt to such changes.

 Google+

Google+ cannot be compared to other social media sites in terms of traffic as it is not so popular among them, but businesses can thrive under this platform by opening an account and making your business to be placed high in Google search engine ranking.

Why do you think many businesses today have a Google account? You see! it importance cannot be written off as there are other benefits attached to opening an account like Google mapping and so on.

YouTube

Some people say YouTube is the 2nd most popular sites in the world. Whatever they say, we are just interested in advertising and making our business known through this platform. Do you have passion in shooting videos? Then, you are likely to succeed by been persistence and creative.

Though most business don’t see the need to create a channel and start video shooting or maybe don’t have the time to, but I tell you some people have develop full time job through this means by creating videos for their channels. So it is worth talking about.

Instagram

Are you a graphic designer, a fashion designer or a company which deal with pictures/image advertising to capture their audience? Then this can also be the right place for you.

With its huge crowd, hashtags and community of followers, I will say it can spread your business as far as possible. Those into visual businesses understands the power of visual contents in capturing the attention of people

Also, with its simple apps available, you can easily open an account and commence your adverts.

linkedln

This is a professional site that connects business to business, employers to employees, father to child (though in my terms). But it is a mutual benefits site where everyone gain at the expense of the other.

It is a good business platform if you are really in business and want to grow your business. The contents on this site is strictly in accordance with your business

Summary

In summary, you mustn’t engage in all the social media sites at once but target the ones where your audience is, based on your brand and work with them.

For crafty and active women, check Pinterest. If you are a fan of news and love conversations Join Reddit.  Designers connections, check out Behance or Dribbble. If you are publishing a book, join GoodReads. There are even sites dedicated to healthy living, and the real estate industry. Even though many of these niche sites don’t have the massive audience Facebook does, they all connect to your brand. Find the enthusiasts!

In the end, it’s important to look at your own company’s needs, hopes, time and budget, and target audience. Take the time to do a little more research and dip your toes in social media sites you aren’t sure of. But maybe you’ll have more followers on Tumblr or Flickr than Facebook! And maybe you’ll become insta-famous!

EducationWindows 8 Problem And Solutions by Omokowa(op): 11:19pm On Jun 05, 2018
What do you normally do when Windows 8 fail to detect your USB devices when connected? The most possible reason for this issue can be conflicts between other USB devices that users might have connected to the computer. In order to resolve this issue, users should try removing other connected USB devices, restarting the computer, and then reconnecting only the target USB device to the computer, without connecting the other devices at all.

There might still be some ports that the operating system fails to detect maybe due to old drivers. When this is the case, administrators are recommended to update old driver with the latest version of USB driver to resolve the issue.

Although, like other driver and software update processes, the update process of USB drive also requires elevated privileges. This means that in order to update the USB driver, administrator account must be used to log on to Windows 8 computer.

Let us now look at the steps on how to update USB drivers:

Log on to Windows 8 computer with the administrator account.

Make sure that the computer is connected with an active Internet connection.

Click Desktop tile from the Start screen to go to the desktop window.

Once on the desktop screen, hover mouse to the bottom right corner of the window.

From the displayed options, click Settings.

On the Settings pane, click Control Panel.

On the opened Control Panel window, click Hardware and Sound.

On Hardware and Sound window, click Device Manager under Devices and Printers category from the right pane.

On Device Manager Window, expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers’ category.

Once expanded, right-click the USB controller that is to be updated.

From the context menu that appears, click Update Driver Software to update the driver of the selected USB controller.

On the displayed box, click Search automatically for updated driver software to make the Windows to search for the updated driver from the Internet.

Wait till the selected driver gets updated from the Internet and on the next page, click Close.

Close Device Manager Window, when done.

There are cases when windows 8 get stuck when updating. If you find yourself in such situations, follow the simple steps below to come out of it

Jobs/VacanciesThe Different Types Of Job Interviews by Omokowa(op): 4:26am On May 28, 2018
If you are new to interviews, or it has been some time since you have had one, you may be under the impression that if you’ve seen one, you’ve them all. So you may be in for a big surprise the next time you set foot in a potential employer’s office. Today’s interviews can range from one-on-one conversations to sit down meetings with an HR coordinator to informal informational interviews and even group interviews. And that’s just for starters.
If you want to be successful in all types of job interviews, you must first have a clear understanding of the different interview styles and what is expected of you during each of them.
But no matter what you learn about each particular interview style below, there are some similarities between all of them – anticipate questions, develop your answers and practice makes perfect. Articles such as this one and other can give you guidelines, but you need to learn how to adapt them to yourself so you aren’t giving the employer the same answers as everybody else. And remember to sell yourself, your qualifications and your skills at all times.
The Informational Interview An informational interview is not a job interview. It is a chance for interested individuals to meet with a professional to gather industry and career information and advice to help determine if the career is worth pursuing. In addition, it allows the individual to begin establishing contacts and a network for future employment opportunities.
Even though these types of interviews are less stressful than regular interviews, you should still come prepared. Here are a few tips for informational interviews:
1. Arrive prepared. You don’t want to waste your time or the employer’s. Do your research in advance and have questions ready about the industry, company, field and the position of the person you are meeting with.
2. When other contacts are given to you, make sure the person is comfortable with you using their name as a reference.
3. When the interview is over, make sure to shake hands and leave your contact info and a resume.
4. Follow up with a thank you note in the next day or two.
Screening Interview some places are easier to get your foot in the door than others. In some cases, you will have to get by a Human Resources professional before you get to the person who is actually doing the hiring. The purpose of the HR professional is to weed out the duds. But if you can get by them, chances are you will be meeting with a decision maker in the company. When screening, HR professionals are looking for employment gaps and inconsistent information. They may also inquire about salary requirements to see if the company can afford you, or if you are asking for more than you are worth. When asked this question, it is recommended that you stick to a simple answer such as "I would be willing to consider your best offer."
Screening interviews are also done over the phone. Again, this is a process used to eliminate job seekers based on standard requirements such as experience, education and skill sets. It is good practice when actively seeking a new job to keep a copy of your resume and references by the phone.
Audition Interview some jobs may require a bit of an audition. This is common practice for positions such as computer programming. The purpose is to evaluate your skills on the fly. In an audition interview, you have the unique opportunity to strut your stuff and prove your abilities by demonstrating your knowledge of particular tasks associated with the job. For an audition type interview, you should always:
1. Practice as many possible skills you possess that are requirements for the job prior to the interview.
2. Ask for clarification on anything that is unclear during the exercise. It is better to ask questions that to be doing something incorrectly because you were confused about directions.
Group Interview In a group interview you will be alongside other candidates. This is your chance to demonstrate your leadership potential, communication skills and how well you work with others. Sometimes, you may even be challenged to solve a problem as a group and be asked to work as a team to solve the problem. This allows those interviewing to help determine if you are reserved, pushy or have a balance between offering and listening to ideas. This is perhaps one of the most overwhelming interviews and is easy to get lost in the rest of the faces. Here are a few tips to help you stand out:
1. Speak to everybody in the group with respect, regardless of how much they are contributing to the cause. Always be polite even if other people are not.
2. Do your best to avoid power struggles. They will only result in the interviewers forming a negative opinion about you, perhaps one of childishness and inexperience.
Tag Team Interview As if interviewing with one person wasn’t hard enough, tag team interviews are even more difficult. They have multiple parties interview one person – you. The purpose of the tag team interview is to get insight from others who work in or for the company. They are not only looking for the usual background, education and experience, but how you get along with various members of the team. Here are some tips to help with success:
1. Ask for each person’s business card at the beginning of the meeting. This will help you address them by name when required.
2. Make eye contact with each interviewer and speak to them directly when answering their question.
3. Be prepared to share at least two or three times as many stories as you would with a single interviewer. You are now trying to sell yourself to two or three more people, so you will need to have the appropriate amount of stories.
4. Get a good night sleep. These types of interviews can be very fatiguing.
Mealtime Interview A: mealtime interview, as the name would imply, is an interview set over the course of a meal. They are often used in situations where the position requires a high level of interpersonal skills. A mealtime setting allows them to see how you act in a social setting, as well as your mealtime etiquette. They are not only looking at how you interact with other employees, but also how polite you are to other guests and the serving staff. Here are some tips for a successful mealtime interview:
1. Make sure you order a meal that is easy to eat so you do not have to worry about spilling or splattering food all over your clothes.
2. Watch the interviewer for cues. Do not sit until he or she does, do not order alcohol unless he or she does (even so, only have one). And order something a little less expensive. Do not begin eating until the interviewer does.
3. Do not discuss any dietary restrictions or preferences.
4. Allow the interviewer or others at the table to choose the topics of conversation.
5. Be sure to thank the interviewer for the meal.
Stress Interview A: stress interview allows interviewers to see how well you work under pressure. These types of interviews can be a little cruel, but it serves a point. These types of interviews may include a variety of odd behavior, including being held in the waiting room for long periods of time, posing offensive questions, being met with long silence or cold looks, just to name a few. Verbal abuse is also fairly common. All of this just to see if you are able to handle a stressful work environment and company culture. Here are some pointers to help you keep your cool:
1. Stress interviews are meant to test your mental strength, not hurt your feelings. If you can identify when you are in one, it will make it that much easier to shine.
2. Stay focused on expressing your point. Do not let the interviewer shake your confidence or get in your head.
3. Stay calm at all costs and avoid rude responses to rude questions.
Behavioral Interview A: typical interview discusses your skills and how they fit with the job at hand. A behavioral interview is aimed at using your previous behavior to indicate your future performance. You’ve probably heard questions such as, "describe a past work experience where you had to use problem-solving, adaptability or leadership. “They are looking for detailed information on how you have dealt with past experiences. Prior to a behavioral interview, review your resume and generate as many stories as possible based on the information in you interview, and of course practice. Keep them short and concise.
Follow-up Interview If you make it through the first interview, you may very well be called back for another, or even a third. This could happen if employers are having a difficult time deciding between a few candidates, or just to ensure you are the right person for the job. If you get a second or third interview, it is your best chance to solidify your placement within the company. Often you will meet with people higher in the company, so be prepared for high levels of stress. Be as professional as possible and good luck!

ComputersHow You Can Partition Your Hard-drive In Windows by Omokowa(op): 2:12am On May 27, 2018
Do you know you can make one hard-drive to function as two? Partitioning a hard-drive simply means splitting your drives in sections (virtual drives) so you can organize your files, applications. It gives your drives that multi-purpose functions for each section of the drive.

Fortunately, for the purpose of this article we have analyze the steps to partitioning your hard-drive. Though we are focusing on windows 10, but it can work with windows 7 and 8.1 respectively

Windows Disk Management:

One best method you can use to partition your disk-drives is using the windows disk management tool found in windows. Although some third-party applications have expanded features in which you can work with. Below are the steps to follow:

Use windows search box at the left bottom of your PC and search for “Disk Management”
Select “create and format hard disk partitions” from the result box.
Select the hard-drive you wish to partition from the different drives you see
Note: if it is a new drive you are trying to partition, skip the next step

Create some “unallocated space” from your old drives when it appears (the one you had select in the previous step) by right-clicking it and select “Shrink Volume” from the resulting drop-down menu.
Your PC will then calculate how much free space you can allocate to the new partition. Once it is completed, it will ask how much space you’d want to use
If you wish to use all, click “shrink” button. But if you need a specified volume to use, input it in megabytes (e.g 1,025 mb) in the respective field before hitting shrink.
Wait for the process to complete depending on the speed of your drive. You will now have a new “unallocated” space shown next to the physical drive in the bottom-half of the Disk Management screen.
Right-click the “unallocated” space and select “New simple volume” from the resulting menu
Follow instructions from the screen and select the size of the volume ( default will use all unallocated space) and the drive letter
If given the option to format your drive (either new or old), please do so. For file system select “NTFS”. The “exFAT” option is more commonly used for portable devices. You can also add a volume label, name if you choose to. You can also choose to leave “unallocated unit size” at default.
Select quick format if you don’t have much time to spend.
Keep on clicking the “Next” button until you finally hit the finish button to create the volume. There we go, you now have a partitioned drive with different sections to store your information. You will be able to see it and all information about it on the Disk management page.
There are several third-parties alternatives you can use to partition your drives but I recommend EaseUS Partition Master Free because I have used it before and I know how good it is. It comes with several features. Feel free to try this out through these steps if you want to partition your hard-drives…

1.An Unwanted Dependency Leading to Addiction:

Top 15 Harmful Side Effects of Using Cosmetics
2 years ago

Facts, People & Lifestyle
Makeup has become a necessity for most women and they believe that they cannot step out of the house without at least five different kinds of cosmetic products. The cosmetics market has bloomed to such an extent that not only are there different cosmetics for every kind of body part, there are different ones for different seasons too! But before makeup is marketed to us, it is tested on animals. Do you ever wonder why is it so? Because the cosmetics we trust to make us beautiful are actually full of so many harmful chemicals. And despite the fact that these cosmetics make us look good temporarily, in the end they are going to leave an ugly effect. Here are some of the most common side effects of the cosmetics that you apply without a second thought:

1. An Unwanted Dependency Leading to Addiction
In an era where social media is all about creating the perfect image of ourselves, the idea that one can look perfect without makeup has become laughable. Some people have an extreme dependency on cosmetics and avoid social interaction if they are not fully made up. This dependency can lead to psychological problems like lowering of the self-esteem of a person. Makeup helps create a perfect image and while everyone looks flawless, there is societal pressure to live up to these expectations. Therefore, this dependency becomes an addiction that leads to the erosion of self-esteem and self-confidence.

2.Prolonged Exposure Leads to Headaches:

Headaches are a common issue associated with cosmetics. Usually prolonged exposure to extensive makeup leads to dizziness, tiredness and nausea. It is therefore, very important that while removing makeup, you remove every trace of it. The fact that cosmetics contain only chemicals, and some have certain ingredients that, if exposed to directly, could lead to bouts of unconsciousness. It is probably more harmful for people who suffer migraines and chronic headaches.

3. Permanent Dark Circles

The skin around the eyes is more sensitive as compared to the rest of your face and it shows the effect of chemicals sooner too. Experts tend to suggest that fewer cosmetics should be applied around the eyes as it can lead to bags under the eyes and dark circles. Dark circles are not easy to get rid of and often create constant marks under the eyes. This creates an endless cycle because to hide their dark circles, people apply more makeup which in turn leads to the worsening of the condition.

4. Eye Makeup Causes A Number of Diseases
It can cause the development of chemical, toxic and infective conjunctivitis, glaucoma, uveitis, dry eye and the discoloration of the eyes. If you wear lenses the chemicals in the makeup can damage your lenses and result in thinning of eyelashes. Mascara, which can lead to thinning of eyelashes can also cause blindness as it contains pseudomonas aeruginosa, a very harmful bacteria that is resistant to both heat and cold.

5. Clogging of Pores and Acne

Cosmetics like foundation and primer that even out the complexion of your skin and make your skin smooth, do this by smoothening your pores and natural blemishes. This means that your skin is not allowed to breathe and therefore can end up causing several problems. Foundations and powders that clog your pores can aggravate acne. It can also flare up your blemishes, it can cause pimple and cause acne breakout. So, avoid using oil-based cosmetics and go for non-acnegenic makeup that won’t block your pores.

6. Removal of Hair Damages Your Skin
The removal of unwanted hair from your body can lead to several unwanted damages that you are unaware of. Waxing and shaving can cause ingrown hairs, red bumps and several times, bleeding too. The waxing of facial hair leads your skin to sag earlier than normal as it means frequent harsh pulling of your skin. Waxing strips, when pulled away can cause infections if the skin has been bruised in the process. Removal of hair also disturbs hair follicles, causing them to grow in different directions, leaving ugly black bumps all over your skin.

7. Damages Your Nails

Nail paints are a staple for fashion and growing out your nails will probably never go out of fashion. Manicures and pedicures may sound very hygienic but if done very frequently can be damaging to nails. The quality of your nails will decrease over time due to extensive application of cosmetics and will lead to your nails becoming fragile. The nails become thin and as they lose their natural color they start to look pale. Dark nail paints could stain your nails and turn them yellow. Acetone, which is present in nail paints and removers is a harsh chemical and tends to damage nail strength.

8. Dries Out Skin Or Makes It More Oily
Some foundations and powders tend to dry out your skin and make it look flaky, dull and ashen. Such cosmetics can also cause cracks and fine wrinkles in your skin, which could cause infections to develop. Oil based makeup can cause your makeup to clump and crease, especially around your eyelids. Such cosmetics will leave an oily deposit that will result in a thick oily sheen. To counter dry skin or oily skin for that matter, you should do proper cleansing and moisturizing instead of depending on oil based cosmetics.

9. Ageing of Your Skin
The chemicals used in makeup contribute to the ageing of your skin because they dry out the natural oils and essential vitamins and minerals present in human skin. This causes your skin to lose its natural moisture and texture, and it starts to develop wrinkles and dry patches. Prolonged usage of makeup will make your skin look older than it actually is. And since it is almost impossible to get the youthful glow back, cosmetics marketers are launching products that help counter the effect of aging that has been cause by them.

10. Excessive Hair Problems

Even if people don’t use makeup, hair products are extensively used because hair is that aspect of your appearance which completes your look. Shampoos, conditioners, gels and serums may make your hair look perfect for the day, but in the long run they are doing nothing but damage to your hair. Such cosmetics effect the hair quantity and quality, causing hair fall, excessive dandruff, thinning of hair or redness of scalp. Hairsprays are even more dangerous as they can result in scalp damage and permanent discoloration of hair. Hair colors and hair dyes are next to toxic as allergic reactions can cause burning, redness, itchy scalp, breathing difficulties and facial swelling. The chemicals in hair dyes are toxic and can cause diseases like cancer, reproductive failure, and damage to lungs and so on.

11. Lipstick Can Cause Lead Poisoning

Lipstick dries the moisture out of your lips and some of them contain oils and chemicals that can damage you lips. Lipstick is made out of some very harmful content including lead and mineral oil. Lead ingestion can lead to possible brain damage and behavior abnormalities. Although, on an average, the lead content in a lipstick is safe, considering the fact that most users apply lipstick for over ten times a day, there are certain long term side effects that are a result of it. Lead ingestion could lead to poor muscle coordination, increased blood pressure, hearing and vision impairment and other alarming neural damages. The mineral oil forms a nonporous sheen on your lips and can block skin cell development and proper functioning.

12. Skin Allergies
Cosmetics such as deodorants and antiperspirants contain alcohol and can cause redness and irritation, and itching which may eventually lead to pigmentation of skin. They also block your sweat glands and can lead to conditions like contact dermatitis and allergies. An allergic reaction to fairness creams or sunscreens can lead to permanent discoloration of the skin or even severe damages. From rashes to inflammation, the wrong kind of cosmetic that is not compatible with your skin type can have a deep rooted impact on your skin.

13. Damage To Reproductive Organs
Certain cosmetics such as bubble baths, or oils can affect your reproductive organs and even lead to infertility. Talcum powder, if inhaled can travel to your reproductive system and can affect the menstrual cycles leading to other imbalances. Chemicals such a phthalates and parabens, used widely in cosmetics can disrupt reproductive hormones and hold potential risks to reproductive and thyroid systems. Cosmetics such as shower gels can lead to vaginal infections or even prostrate and ovarian cancer if brought in direct contact to your organs and if they are of a bad quality.

14. Can Lead to Lung Diseases
The chemicals that are used in cosmetics are often breathed in, especially from fragrances or powders and they could lead to damaging of the lung tissues. Heavy makeup often triggers conditions of the lungs if inhaled. The chemical ingredients in talcum powder, such as silicates talc causes allergies and infections of the lungs. Powder based cosmetics are breathed in and can settled inside our lung tissues, they can also travel through our reproductive systems, causing undoable damages.

15. Cosmetics Can Cause Cancer

The most threatening side effects of excessive use of cosmetics is skin cancer. Lipstick contains aluminum which may cause long term anemia and even glucose intolerance. Many products contain chemicals like zinc oxide and barium sulphate which are toxic and can result in organ failure, especially that of the kidney and liver. Cosmetics like body moisturizers can disturb the thyroid content of the body. Parabens, a preservative used heavily in cosmetics has been linked in researches to causes of cancer.

Therefore, if you are an avid user of makeup, make sure that it has the least amount of chemicals, and that you do not make a habit of applying makeup all the time.

Jobs/VacanciesHow To Choose A Career Path by Omokowa(op): 1:58am On May 12, 2018
If you’re not sure which direction your career should go in, you’re thinking about making a career change, or you just want to feel more fulfilled in your career, these ten tips might help.

Ideally, everyone would know their true calling early in life and find happiness in their work, but it often doesn’t work that way.

1.Think About What Excites and Energizes You. This one’s the first obvious step—we all want to enjoy and actually like our careers. (Perhaps the biggest sign you’re on the wrong path is if you dread talking about your job.) While passion isn’t the only requirement for being content in your career, many would say it’s still essential, if only because passion is what keeps you going even through the tough times.

2.Keep in Mind What You’re Good At.Maybe you don’t feel that passionate about any specific career—or you love multiple areas and can’t decide on just one. Then it’s time to think about your personality and focus on the skills you have.

3.Take a Test.Well, you say, what if you don’t know what you’re good at or even what you’re interested in? Career assessment tests could help.

4.Try an Internship. Even if it doesn’t turn into a job or you find out it’s the wrong career for you, an internship can help build your network—from which you can get career and job advice.

CareerHow To Choose A Career Path by Omokowa(op): 1:49am On May 12, 2018
If you’re not sure which direction your career should go in, you’re thinking about making a career change, or you just want to feel more fulfilled in your career, these ten tips might help.

5.Find a Mentor.A mentor could help you take your career to the next level and give you the insider insight to help you make sure you’re on the right path.

6.Explore.We all know the popular careers available to us—doctor, lawyer, teacher, computer engineer, police officer, store owner, etc. If you feel uninspired by the typical choices, know that there are thousands of unusual jobs you might not have heard about.

7.Ask Other People.Perhaps the best way to discover a new career is to ask other people about theirs—assuming you come into contact with people who don’t all work in the same field.

8.Use the G+P+V Formula. The perfect career for you would most likely fit the G+P+V formula, which stands for Gifts + Passions + Values. Consider your strengths and passions, as we’ve noted above, and your values

9.Make a Career Plan.As with most things, your career will benefit if you have goals and a plan for it. Maybe you think you want to be a writer, but the next step after that, is editing. (Do you really want to do that?)

10.See Your Career as a Set of Stepping Stones, Not a Linear Path.Of course, all these plans and ideas are never set in stone. Career10 Things That Could Ruin Your Career by Omokowa(op): 10:14pm On May 07, 2018
Most of the time, all that people think about and work hard towards is getting a job. Sadly, they dont think about keeping it or even ways that they could loose it. I think its easier to loose a job than to get one so these 10 points would guide you on keeping your job.

1. Consistently showing up late; coming to work, meetings or other functions late is rude.

2. Making too many excuses;Always having an excuse for every thing that goes wrong reduces your credibility level before your employer and co workers.

3. Blaming others for your wrongs

4.Putting others down;when you put others down you certainly dont pull your self up. Gossip is a very unhealthy habit.

5. Multitasking But Not Getting Anything Done
There’s a huge difference between working hard and working smart. When you try to do everything all at once, the risk is that you end up accomplishing nothing or turning in work that isn’t your best work possible.

6. Being Too Personal For Work
Taking occasional personal calls or ordering online to buy your spouse a birthday gift is acceptable. But, when your personal life interferes with your work so often that you can barely distinguish work emails from personal ones, you appear disinterested and disengaged.

7. Moving Too Often; It is hard to find your career path when you move too much. Chances are that you will miss out on the long-term impact of your work and your growth will be limited.

8. Talking Yourself Up But Not Delivering
Do not make promises you can’t keep. Never over-promise and under-deliver. Not only will you end up discouraging your employer and co-workers, you will also come off as inefficient and unreliable.

9. Going Overboard With Social
Even if you are a social media specialist at work, you must still learn how to detach your virtual life from your official job function. Do not let hours of web surfing and online chatting get out of hand.

10. Telling Lies Instead of Owning Up
Honesty is a value that is fundamental in any work environment. This shows that you can be trusted.

You might not be aware of it but you are actually ruining your career by doing these ten things. You may think that having the right skills and abilities is enough, but remember that getting a job and keeping it require character and hard work.

SportsMarseille To Face Atletico Madrid In Europa League Final by Omokowa(op): 10:27am On May 04, 2018
Marseille will face Atletico Madrid in the Europa League final after beating Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg over two legs.
The French side went into Thursday’s semi-final with a 2-0 lead from the first leg, but their hosts scored twice to take the game into extra time.

Despite the momentum seemingly being with Salzburg, Marseille’s Rolando scored a dramatic winner four minutes before penalties would have decided the match.

It might have been the perfect night for French fans if their compatriot Arsene Wenger could have steered his Arsenal side into the final.

But there was no fairytale ending for Wenger, who will leave the London club at the end of the season after 22 years at the helm.

His side went down 1-0 to Atletico Madrid on the night and 2-1 on aggregate.

Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa scored the winner in the Spanish capital to end Arsenal’s European hopes.

Atletico will now hope to overturn home advantage for Marseille in the final, which takes place in Lyon on May 16.

PhonesWhat Really Is “VPN”? by Omokowa(op): 8:52pm On Apr 29, 2018
VPN stands for Virtual Private Network.

It simply means browsing on the internet while your data or information you are browsing about is been secured from any external bodies or preventing hackers from gaining access to your data or websites history.

It is also a private network that extends across a public network or internet. As a user, you can send and receive data across shared or public networks

What are the uses of VPN then?

Accessing business networks from any place in the world: you can decide to connect with your appliances anywhere you are, to a business network; though you will be required to connect with security codes which was kept in VPN-only to ensure safety.
To hide your browsing data from ISP (internet service provider) and local users: Internet service providers like Glo, MTN and Airtel operators can spy on your browsing history and sure have access to your data. Since they log the data of your IP address. So VPN can stop them from spying on them and also those that connect to a public network (Wi-Fi) because Virtual Private Network protect your privacy on public unsecured Wi-Fi connection. As you may or may not know, users of this networks may spy on your browsing history.
To access blocked sites all over the world: VPN can bypass any restrictions to any site that is not available in your country. Have you seen instances like “This content is not available in your country”? Even some YouTube videos can be overcome with VPN.
To bypass internet censorship: some countries does not permit or restricts the use of certain type of website. Chine for example block access to some websites in their country. VPN can help you fix such challenges
To access home network from anywhere : if you have private files in your home network, you can setup home network VPN to access the network anywhere you are
To download files: for those that like to live stream and also download files from restricted sites. VPN is important for use.

Technology MarketWhy Facebook Page Likes Don’t Matter by Omokowa(op): 10:19pm On Apr 28, 2018
Facebook Likes Don’t Matter

Recently, I’ve taken over managing all Facebook advertising campaigns for a client who doesn’t really know much about marketing and, to be honest, doesn’t really believe in marketing. Pretty much all this client knows about Facebook is that they can get “Page Likes” for their business. To date, that’s all they’ve cared about. They’ve seen how many Page Likes their competitor has and have been hell bent on exceeding that number at any cost.

Facebook Page Likes Mean Nothing if You Don’t Know What to Do With Them!

For the last year, this client has poured their hard earned dollars into a Facebook campaign to grow their number of followers. Each month when they see that the number has grown, they’re excited to believe that they’re winning the popularity contest, finally exceeding their biggest competitor. It sounds great in theory, right? “Oh wow, all these people like my business!”

My first question when I took over the account was, “What have they been doing with all these Page Likes?” The answer? Absolutely nothing.

Just Because Someone Likes Your Page, It Doesn’t Mean They’re Seeing Your Content

Facebook’s organic reach — the number of people who see your content without you paying to promote it — is declining regularly. Some experts even predict that organic reach will eventually drop to zero. When you think about it, you’re competing for space in a Facebook user’s News Feed. They’re seeing posts from hundreds of friends and family: updates from Aunt Sally’s vacation, photos from Cousin Rachel’s wedding, etc. They’re seeing sponsored advertisements from companies willing to pay for that prime space. Finally, they’re seeing other organic posts from pages they follow and, if they’re anything like me, their newsfeed is full of cat memes and funny pet videos!

Facebook wants to serve you the very best content. Stories that you’re going to engage with by commenting, liking, sharing. As a result, they simply can’t show you absolutely everything. They’ll serve the content that their algorithm predicts will perform best.

While the idea of having 50,000 followers of Facebook seems exciting, you’ll be lucky if your posts reach maybe 10-12% of your fan base. As I mentioned above, the News Feed is a competitive space and you’ve got to pay to play!

In short, having Facebook followers is great but it’s meaningless unless you have a strategy in place to engage them.

Other important things to understand:

It Doesn’t Mean They’re Engaged with Your Brand

It Doesn’t Mean They’re Your Ideal Customer

Facebook followers can absolutely still be valuable. When you’re regularly posting valuable content, you’re building a relationship with your fan base over time. These people potentially have an affinity for your brand. They are most likely to have read your content or purchased from you before. They see your content organically, or at least some of them do.

Just don’t let the number of Facebook Page Likes you have distract you from your ultimate business goal – making sales!
