elego1: I AM NOT AN IGBO!!! I am not an Igbo, but i'd say that the igbos contribute more to the economy of Nigeria, in terms of production, commercial services, entertainment, sports etc. *Those yorubas saying they have more industries, do you know that majority of those industries are owned and controlled by the igbos.
*The igbos started nollywood and majority of nollywood directors and actors are igbos and nollywood contributes 2.0 percent to the nigerian GDP
*The igbos have been doing well in sport. legends like okocha, kanu etc are all igbos...
*If Igbos are not in Nigeria, the standard of living in Nigeria would be very poor and the cost of living would be very high i.e they wouldn't be able to afford foreign commodities.
*majority of the shoes, clothes we wear are made by Igbos and they are affordable.
*I'd say The yorubas and hausas are always oppose the igbos because they are jealous of there creativity and ideas.
*you and i know that if biafra republic eventually gains their independence the standard of living in Nigeria would be very low and the biafra nation would be prosperous and wealthy like singapore and dubai because of their cordial relationship btw themselves and their creativity. nonsense from a flat head |

Abia State is well known for Cassava, Rubber (from the plantation at Bende LGA) Cerals and Palm Oil exploits thats why FG established a University of Agriculture, Root crop research institute at umudike and a Ceral crop research institute at Amakama. Ebonyi is well known for Rice production(abakiliki rice) and many agro foods; and many more. so who is now arguin wit u about dis now |

ikechu1278: They claimed south west contribute to 80% of agricultural produces in Nigeria. Last I checked, almost everything eaten in Nigeria is imported, the little made in Nigeria are predominantly North, followed by Abia state. The sea food is from south south.
What agricultural production do Yoruba make and trade in abundance that gave them the right to claim 80%? What food product, excluding cocoa, comes from South West.
I asked them this question but they ignored it like parasite so anyone else is free to answer pls show me a source,or show us d person dat said south west produces 80perc of agricultural stuff u r talkin about |

pazienza: Well, those weapons are scarecrows, scaring away would be predators.
Economic prosperity without those weapons, is like a man who built a house, furnished it, but put no gates, no doors and no burglary proofs.
Enemies would simply invade and cart away his precious property.
Look at Libya, wealth without those weapons, France and NATO predators simply licked their lips and devoured Libya. If Libya spent half of her wealth developing nuclear weapons, NATO wouldn't have dared step a foot there, considering how close Libya is to Europe, bombing Brussels and Paris into stone age would have been a potent possibility and fear that would have kept the predators at bay.
In a world where greed and injustice rules, where might makes right, where countries with no iota of natural resources would seek to control and owe another country's resources directly ( as in the colonial days) and indirectly through local puppets and rubber stamps masquerading as leaders as we have now), those weapons are important, and until an independent black nation acquires such weapons, the story of the black race wouldn't change. I do fink ao d world politics would b atyms if alaska is still under d russia federation |

Mega005: Zakari of CNN this afternoon confirmed this news and also reported that Nigeria would be 9 most developed country in the world by 2050
Nigeria projected to be 3rd most populous country in the world by 2050 0 BY OUR REPORTER ON AUGUST 3, 2015 BREAKING NEWS, NATIONAL, TRENDING NEW population forecasts from the United Nations point to a new world order in 2050. The number of people will grow from 7.3 billion to 9.7 billion in 2050, 100m more than was estimated in the UN’s last report two years ago.
More than half of this growth comes from Africa, where the population is set to double to 2.5 billion. Nigeria’s population will reach 413m, overtaking America as the world’s third most-populous country. Congo and Ethiopia will swell to more than 195m and 188m repectively, more than twice their current numbers.
India will surpass China as the world’s most populous country in 2022, six years earlier than was previously forecast. China’s population will peak at 1.4 billion in 2028; India’s four decades later at 1.75 billion.
Changes in fertility make long-term projections hard, but by 2100 the planet’s population will be rising past 11.2 billion. It will also be much older. The median age of 30 will rise to 36 in 2050 and 42 in 2100—the median age of Europeans today. A quarter of Europe’s people are already aged 60 or more; by 2050 deaths will outnumber births by 32m. The UN warns that only migration will prevent the region’s population from shrinking further.
