If you visit a bookstore in any city, you will see hundreds of self-help books on being successful at anything you do. The authors will tell you about a list of do’s and don’ts that will aid you to be on your way to success. Here’s some bad news – all what they are selling to you is crap! Do you want to be successful? Then, you should never give up! It is as simple as that! Look around you, all the people you know that are very good at what they do and end up being recognized for it, there is one thing they all have in common – they never give up. Yes, life can be so difficult, especially when you are not seeing the dividends of your efforts, but at the end of the day, you will have reasons to smile if you just keep pushing. Take the football sensation, Cristiano Ronaldo, for instance, why is he such a great goal scorer? Why has he been singled out of all his Real Madrid and Portugal teammates? Is his talent extraordinary? Ronaldo never gives up and this quality follows everything he does every day of his life. Whether he is engaged in a football tournament or he is at home, he always practices and never jokes with his diet. That is what sets him apart from all other players. He is currently playing in the World Cup tournament but best believe, when it is all over, you will not find him bingeing out on alcohol and excess food, he will be practicing his craft. This makes his game worth watching on the field of play! Are you the same way with your chosen craft? Or do you make excuses as to why you should take a break? Do you easily get discouraged at the slightest sign of rejection? How do you handle it? Do you take rejection and let it strengthen you to do better next time or do you just give up? Search yourself and adjust if you see you are falling short because there is no other way to be successful at what you do. There is no secret or trojan horse. Whenever you fall, keep rising, that’s how you succeed! http://lingoafrica.com/no-such-thing-as-secrets-to-success/ |

Africans both at home and in Russia cannot get over the fact that Senegal has properly represented the continent at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. No disrespect to other teams, but Senegal has done what many Africans have been expecting from other teams, especially the Super Eagles of Nigeria, the acclaimed Giant of Africa! The first thing that caught my eye as the match against Poland was about to begin, was 42-year-old Aliou Cisse, the manager/head coach of the Senegalese team. He happens to be the only black coach at the World Cup. http://lingoafrica.com/senegal-breaks-the-jinx-at-the-2018-world-cup/ |

Ghana is expecting a research centre from Google – the centre will be focused on conducting and developing analysis around artificial intelligence (AI) – which is the intelligence demonstrated by machines, in contrast to the natural intelligence displayed by humans and other animals. In a blog post, Google announced its decision, saying; “We are committed to collaborating with local universities and research centres, as well as working with policymakers on the potential uses of AI in Africa.” This is a sign that Ghana as an African country, is on the move, with the rest of the developed world, although many other African countries cannot boast of same. Analysts have identified two reasons why Google, has decided to open up its AI research centre in Ghana; political stability and high-quality education system, two factors which are lacking in many countries on the continent. Ghana joins other cities like Paris, New York and Tokyo, as well as Google’s Mountain View headquarters, in hosting an AI research centre. It is shameful that in a continent having countries that are fifty years and above, many cannot boast of security of lives and property, clean water or access to uninterrupted power supply. These make it impossible for technology companies like Google to take any seriously when it comes to investments. This decision, when it becomes a reality, will definitely place Ghana on the map of technology development and of course, create more opportunities for them as a country! But what about the rest of Africa? CNBC Africa reports that Ethiopia, Rwanda, Nigeria, and Kenya are already positioning themselves as future tech hubs in Africa. However, some common factors like political instability as well as insecurity are stumbling blocks to achieving proper international recognition by way of investments. According to analysts, Ghana’s pro-business government and entrepreneurial society may have contributed to its selection as a top choice for developing an AI research centre. http://lingoafrica.com/heres-why-google-is-opening-an-ai-research-center-in-ghana/ |

Timothy and Rebecca were married for almost five years, theirs was a relationship based purely on sex and for a while, things were sizzling hot between them. That is until when Rebecca felt she could no longer stand her husband, Timothy, who in her opinion, could no longer satisfy her sexual urges. You see, Rebecca was a nymphomaniac, a fact she never admitted to her husband before they ever hooked up for the first time. Rebecca was raped by three men when she was just 15 years old. That incident turned her into a sex addict. Studies have revealed that rape could either turn a woman into a wild one, whose demands for sex surpasses the usual or could make her withdrawn and closed to all intimate encounters... http://lingoafrica.com/tim-and-becky-how-sex-can-ruin-a-marriage/ |
