Politics3 Reasons Why Nigeria's 2019 Elections Are About Inter-ethnic Struggles by OmonoWrites(op): 9:41am On Aug 21, 2018
As Nigerians get ready to vote in their forthcoming general elections in 2019, it is wise to take note of the growing trend of the weaponization of poverty and illiteracy by Nigerian politicians.

They take advantage of the fact that a lot of Nigerians are ill-informed (most due to an apathy to reading and independent thinking), to perpetrate selfish interests while drawing a lot of support from those who should know better, but choose not to.

It is no longer news that many Nigerians are more interested in stomach infrastructure (where a politician shares meager cash rewards or random foodstuff like rice, onions to would-be voters, in order to gain massive electoral support).

The politicians are aware of this and ride the waves, taking advantage of mass poverty to keep their miserable selves in power, while spreading poverty and illiteracy even more to generations yet unborn, who will serve their privileged generations!

That being said, some events which have happened recently show that current politicians do not really care about good governance, they only care about being a part of the ruling class. See why; http://lingoafrica.com/3-reasons-why-nigerias-2019-elections-are-about-inter-ethnic-struggles/
Jobs/VacanciesSix Guidelines On How Your CV Should Look by OmonoWrites(op): 9:01am On Aug 21, 2018
It can be exhausting looking at a badly written resume/CV, just ask any of your acquaintances who happens to be a Human Resource person or a CV editor. It is even more exhausting when, as a job seeker, your job applications are rejected over and over again and you do not know why!

When drafting your resume/CV, you should pay attention to how your words are written, because whoever reviews your CV/resume will use that to decide whether or not you are qualified enough for the position or not.

Do not be in a hurry to just send your CV/resume to an email address, it goes beyond that!

See guidelines; http://lingoafrica.com/here-are-guidelines-on-how-your-resume-should-look-like/

PoliticsIf These Challenges Are Solved, Nigerians Will No Longer Be Victims Of Politics by OmonoWrites(op): 7:37am On Aug 04, 2018
Many Nigerians have declared that the Nigeria project was doomed to fail from the very beginning. It is evident that since independence in 1960, the country has continued to battle the same issues.

Now in addition to those issues, the country's politicians use their positions to propagate divisiveness using religious and ethnic sentiments on a population where most Nigerians are ill-informed and unexposed.

They do this in order to make sure the people do not come together in unity to fight for their rights and the common good. Another tactic these politicians use is looting of public funds meant for the development of infrastructure in all sectors as well as for the welfare of the people, this is to keep most Nigerians in abject poverty and bondage.

When it is time for elections, they use few Nairas to buy the minds of the people, who do not care about selling their futures for pennies, in order to fight and kill for politicians because there is hunger in the land.

But, the children of these same politicians are getting the best education and exposure in developed countries, while their parents groom them to also rule over the children of already oppressed Nigerians; turning their sons to yes men and political thugs and their daughters to prostitutes and 'runs girls' for the political elite!

Some time ago, a group of young men was given N200,000 to campaign for an incoming state house of assembly contender (who everyone knew had virtually no plans for his people, except to loot and recover all the money he spent during his campaign).

When asked, one of these men said, at the end of the day, his share was N1000! Imagine! For such amount, the average Nigerian youth will sell his political will. Sad!

Now, if these following challenges are resolved, many Nigerians will not be victims of politics; http://lingoafrica.com/if-these-3-challenges-are-solved-nigerians-will-no-longer-be-victims-of-politicians/

Jobs/VacanciesAs A Job Seeker, You Need To Do These Three Things by OmonoWrites(op): 2:15pm On Jul 12, 2018
A lot of people believe searching for the right job begins and ends with sending half-baked CVs and cover letters to a thousand emails and wait for a call that will never come. They often forget that the employment is much smaller than it was many years ago.

The ratio of jobs to qualified candidates is about 2:50 (if there is any mathematical equation like that). But, that should paint a picture of just how bleak the whole system is.

However, this is not to say there are no jobs, there are, but one must work extra hard to get them. Job experts will tell you that a large percentage of jobs are filled based on referrals, not necessarily applications.

So, as a job seeker, what should you do to get the job you really want? http://lingoafrica.com/as-a-job-seeker-you-need-to-do-these-three-things/

PoliticsWhy Africa Needs Emotionally Intelligent Leaders by OmonoWrites(op): 2:42pm On Jul 10, 2018
Africa has gone beyond needing saviors or messiahs, at this point, what she needs more than anything are leaders who are capable and are forward thinking, also, the continent is in dire need of leaders who are emotionally intelligent.

Here’s why;

In present-day Africa, there is so much violence and terrorism, which stems from unemployment, illiteracy and indiscriminate births (within rural and poor families).

In situations where Africans have to deal with losing their fellow countrymen on a daily basis to disputes and politically motivated violence as well as terrorism, the people need leaders who feel their pain and are willing to do something about making them more secure in their own land.

The Dictionary defines emotional intelligence as the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one’s emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically.

How many African leaders embody this? Maybe a few, maybe none, but the point is, a leader who cannot empathise with what his/her people are suffering but is locked away in an ivory tower, enjoying the benefits of office while turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to the plight of his/her people is not fit to lead. Simple!

Africa needs leaders who are willing to go the extra mile to do what is right to defend human life, regardless of social, religious and ethnic affiliations and to make sure that his/her people are secure and are not being slaughtered like chickens in their own fatherland!

Jobs/VacanciesVolunteering Will Help You Become Successful In Your Career by OmonoWrites(op): 7:49am On Jul 07, 2018
In Africa, attaining excellence in career has become a fight, where only the fittest emerge winners. This is due to the fact that many Africans are focused on shortcuts to success, the system also does not help as many deserving young professionals are ignored while mediocre people are rewarded based on a corrupt system threatening to swallow the idea of excellence.

However, it does not have to continue that way, this is why it is of paramount importance to encourage upcoming young professionals to do what they can to excel the right way. One of those ways is through volunteering.

There are so many organizations where one can volunteer his/her time and skills, following a specific career path, so as to develop three things - name, knowledge, and contacts.

Jobs/VacanciesSix Ways To Spot Fake Job Adverts! by OmonoWrites(op): 5:43am On Jun 22, 2018
Unemployment is a rising menace in social life, with more people available for jobs that are usually non-existent, while the few available are hijacked by the political elite.

However, there are genuine job adverts, but sometimes, some scammers may want to deceive the unsuspecting public by advertising jobs that are not real, for a myriad of reasons.

Here are a few ways to spot fake job adverts and stay safe online while searching for job opportunities;

1. You have been offered a job without being interviewed. This is quite common and sometimes, the person in question may be carried away without really thinking about why s/he was offered a job without some form of test.
