Me too no do again. My Final Evaluation is scheduled to hold today by 10 am, but I'm not attending. The process is too much! Something that's not even a permanent job...They want me to conduct a short teaching lesson (something I can't do with my phone) ;Group Discussion; Problem Solving Activity; and One on One Interviews just to be posted to Ogun. Badfinga: After attending the pre virtual session last week, the person that anchor the session mentioned that after passing the virtual assessment the successful candidates will still go to Lagos in person for another interview. If they could conduct virtual assessment through zoom, why go to Lagos again in person for the final interview? Lastly, the candidate is to bear the cost. So after making my calculations the least money I will be spending is like 30k. On top wetin guarantee no dey say I will be selected. So the risk is not worth it. ; |

Thanks for the reply. Yampotatocarrot: 62k, as at when we had our training... You'll be told 80k initially though, but at the end of the training, you'll find the real price.
Don't know if there's any upward review now |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Teach For Nigeria 2021 Aspirants by Omorodion93: 6:36pm On Jun 17, 2021 |
Please do you know how much is the monthly stipend? Yampotatocarrot: TFN... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I hope they won't do it the same way they did for those that applied last year?
My advice, DON'T QUIT YOUR JOB FOR TFN training, because they are very unreliable. Funny thing is, the training starts in the morning and runs till afternoon, online, and you're expected to attend (they'll provide you data for it sha)
How do they expect people to handle such training and still work in their places of work? When they later disappointed the applicants and someone asked, "what about those that quit their job to concentrate", TFN replied, "Did we ask you to quit your job?"
Don't be scared of those "coaches" and "mentors" they'll give you, who'll tell you "beautifully wondrous stories" of their achievements under TFN, because they're also applying to the same job as you are (Imagine going for the final interview at Lagos state secretariat and seeing your mentors, who have been threatening to remove you from the fellowship, also there for the same interview... Lol)
Funny aspect is, those that applied and passed all the stages for last year were still in their whatsapp group asking TFN why they decided to waste their time for months doing training when they knew the logistics werent on ground, when they saw the new job advert for this year.
Lastly, it's a very nice experience to just learn and network, but take every promise they make with a PINCH OF SALT, except if they've gotten their acts together |

Please is this the invitation you received? If not kindly share. Dear applicant, In preparation for the next stage of your application, you will be evaluated in four main activities: Sample Teaching: During the Final Evaluation Day, you will be required to conduct a short teaching lesson (5 minutes teaching time). You would be given a list of subjects to choose from for this activity. It is advisable you choose a topic you feel comfortable teaching. The scenario for this exercise is an underserved school. We strongly suggest you prepare a lesson note for your sample teaching activity as well. Group Discussion: All applicants will be expected to participate in a group activity. You would be expected to collaborate with your team members to work on a task. Problem Solving Activity: This is an independent activity designed to test your critical-thinking skills. It requires no pre-work. One on One Interviews: At this stage, you would be interviewed by one of the assessors. You would be asked a few questions to test key competencies that are important for our Fellowship. Please be honest and clear in your responses. It is important that you understand the vision of the Teach For Nigeria Fellowship program. As a result, we implore you to commit your time to learn about our work. This is very critical for a successful application. You can visit our website and social media pages to get familiar with our program. Again, we look forward to meeting you at the Final Evaluation and wish you the best of luck as you prepare. For more information, please call 0908 247 2261 or email us at recruitment@teachfornigeria.org. Henry692: Yes,, everything is virtual |

sanyahkod: I don't know why it's only restricted to Ogun alone. Maybe as a result of the security challenges in the north or maybe lack of funds. I think it's due to the insecurity in Kaduna. I'm currently based in the North and my preferred location is Kaduna. |
