TCD: You wan buy playbooks straight from RIM in canada at unbelievably low prices, oya run here fast . 64GB for 55K, 32GB - 50K,, 16Gb - 42K... This na deal of the century, to get an amazing tablet for cheap. buy while stock lasts. www.nairaland.com/933290/32gb-blackberry-playbook-pre-ordered-tcd/2
why was my purchase of pb 64g in a computer village shop for 52k queried?. Now 64g direct from Canada for 55k, does this price now cover for freight , custom duty, profit bla bla. It is obvious now that higher prices is just profiteering. Na wa for nija. PB prices has crashed worldwide, why not here?.

Phones › Re: Blackberry Playbook: Anyone? by omosuji(m): 2:49pm On Jun 20, 2012
TCD: if you wipe a playbook it takes you through the whole setup process again and it'll ask you to download the latest update. Found that out yesterday when I wiped.

Not saying your PB is refurbished but 52k for a 64gb sounds very enticing that's like $328. Meanwhile RIM retails for $299 on their website. Add shipping costs, customs, profit etc. Abi those people no like profit or maybe coz nobody dey buy they just slashed prices to clear stock. Anyway, the koko of my story, make una shine eye wella before you buy o.
i tire for nija o.it has become the norm for sellers of products to unbox them. My thinking is that unboxing of products should be done by the buyer, that way you can Be sure of the integrity of the the product to some extent.

omosuji: please check previous posts .name of shop and address is there.
You will need to activate the pb after purchase, there are these guys who will ask for 15k to do that for you. However if you read through the whole tread , instructions on how to do this has also been posted. Cheers
was at slot same morning, same thing was going for 60k. The koko however is to shine your eyes. Revive at ikeja sell refurbish. Did not ask for their price though. Is pb really selling ? Either here or abroad. Pb share of the tablet market is just 2%. you can actually count the number of shops selling pb in computer village. You go waka small before you see to buy.

The pb I bought do not look refurbished to me,It will not even work until you go through the whole software upgrade process as described in some earlier post on this topic.
You should also note that pb prices are down worldwide. Why not in nija?!

Phones › Re: My Curve 4 Is Always Hot by omosuji(m): 9:16pm On Jun 12, 2012
You will always have to charge at work. One full charge before leaving home in the morning will not carry you through the day. So always carry your charger with you especially if you do a lot online. I think our poor network contribute to battery depletion.
Phones › Re: Blackberry Playbook: Anyone? by omosuji(m): 9:07pm On Jun 12, 2012
Yes o. You do need another plan in addition to the BIS. Your BlackBerry bridge however works with or through BIS.
Phones › Re: My Curve 4 Is Always Hot by omosuji(m): 2:17pm On Jun 12, 2012
I also noticed the heat when I bought mine.
What to do -- remove phone from rubber skin if you use any, this block the vents trapping in heat,--try to limit or reduce browsing in areas with weak or poor signals.
Upgrading do not reduce heat. Upgrading will however give you radio and ability to use the phone to create your own wifi hotspot.

I also think your etisalat line will automatically be activated for data once you subscribe to a plan. Hope this help. Part of 4g I bought is still remaining. This is what I have been using to access appworld with the pb. So subscribe to a data plan and try again. It will work.
Phones › Re: Blackberry Playbook: Anyone? by omosuji(m): 1:54pm On Jun 12, 2012
I did not use any special setting. The etisalat line is what I use for bis. For me to use it for the wifi hotspot I had to subscribe to another internet plan in addition to the bis plan I am already on. That was why I bought the 4g night plan. Yours should also work if you subscribe to any of the etisalat internet plan. The settings is sill the same old setting. Is your line a new one or have you been browsing on that line before?. If it is a new line you may have to call the customer care line to help you provision it for data.

When I bought my playbook about two weeks ago,a guy asked for 15k for the upgrade to be done for me. What I did was to buy etisalat night plan for four k. I now use the wifi of my curve4 to connect the playbook to the Internet. The whole setup was a breeze. It took about thirty minutes for the update to be downloaded. The rest was just to follow the prompt.
My playbook has been up and running since then. I have also been able to sideload a few android apps following the instructions on this post. However I have not been able to get a torrent app that works. I have tried playtorrent and atorrent non of which work. Any advice in this regard will be appreciated. Thank to TCD.
