AqualinaXYZ: so if what it takes to be a patriot is supporting a drug lord to be in Aso Rock then count me out
USA must carry Tinubu You are a victim of US “Media Ops”. What evidence has US provided that Maduro is a cartel member? It’s the same way Sadam Hussein had WMD, right? After decades, you guys still haven’t learned the US game. lecowas: That "whole president" ran a drug cartel like a common criminal, that whole president refused to hand over to opposition after losing the election, that whole president is a dictator who completely silenced every opposition. What is your evidence of him being a cartel member apart from “Daddy Trump told us so”? Trump is the person you just described up there. In fact, he’s worse as an allegedly pedophilia and Epstein right hand man. Trump is also responsible for thousands of innocent deaths in the middle east and intimidated the ICC by sanctioning the judges. Who is going to pick him up? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: US Has Captured Venezuelan President Maduro & His Wife - Trump by Omotaday(m): 1:54pm On Jan 03 |
OriOko88: Let US police itself. It has the best institutions for checkmating govt excesses. See how the judiciary humbled Trump when he was ranting about his election being rigged. He was put In his place. So let US police the world Your statement contradicts sound reasoning. I don’t know where to start with you about the implications of your statement. Where were the “institutions” when US sanctioned ICC judges and their families because they issued an arrest warrant against US friends and because they were investigating US crimes in Iraq? I don’t want to go further in the past of US policing the world but past and current evidence shows why this is a bad idea. |

OriOko88: There's no religion coloration here. Maduro conducted several wack elections since he's been there over 20 years now. He arrested several opposition leaders and sent many on exile. US is right to oust him. He's a dictator. We need us in Africa too to remove most of our sit tight leaders like Paul biya and others Okay prof, you want US to police the world. Who will now police the US? |

Business › Re: Folorunsho Alakija: The Icon Who Refused To Be Conquered by Omotaday(m): 5:19pm On Dec 24, 2025 |
OverCalculating: Folorunsho Alakija did not study Geology.
She started as a Secretary. Then she became a Fashion Designer.
Yet, she beat the global oil giants at their own game.
Most people think she just "got lucky" with an oil license.
But the truth is, she used a strategy called The "Rejected Stone" Advantage.
Here is what happened: In the 90s, she applied for an oil license.
The powers that be gave her OPL 216.
They didn't give her this block because they liked her.
They gave it to her because nobody else wanted it.
It was "Deep Offshore" (Deep Water).
At that time, the technology to drill that deep was expensive and risky.
The big companies (Shell, Mobil) wanted the easy, shallow water.
They thought they gave her a "useless" paper.
She saw a "Golden Ticket."
She knew she didn't have the billions to drill.
But she had the Rights.
She approached Texaco (now Chevron).
She told them: "I have the access. You have the technology. Let's work."
She didn't try to dig with her hands. She used her "Paper" as equity to attract a giant.
This is the most important lesson.
When they finally struck oil (the massive Agbami Field), the Government was shocked at the volume.
They got jealous.
The Government tried to use a decree to forcefully take back 50% of her stake.
Most people would have bowed to the Federal Government out of fear.
Alakija sued them.
She fought the Federal Government in court for 12 years.
She refused to settle. She refused to be bullied.
Eventually, the Supreme Court ruled in her favor, restoring her full stake.
Why am I telling you this?
Don't despise the "Hard" road:
Just because an opportunity looks difficult (Deep Water) doesn't mean it's bad.
That is often where the biggest treasure is hidden.
Defend your Value: In business, creating wealth is one thing.
Keeping it is the real war.
You must have the audacity to fight for what is yours, even if you are fighting a Giant.
She went from sewing clothes to owning one of the most prolific oil blocks in Africa.
Not by luck. But by Grit.
Nairalanders! I hope you learnt something today. Nothing inspiring here. You should have explained the magic she did as a fashion designer to be in a position to apply and receive an oil license. |

Basicend: Your points are quite good.
However, currently, China is the number 1 currently with research institutions in the world. Infact, 8 out of 10 of a sample proportion are coming out of China.
Also, China is the country producing the highest number of engineers globally currently.
They are also the most manufacturing country in the world right now with over 30% of global industrial manufacturing coming from China.
Most Nairalanders, don't do constant research. That's why many of our submissions on this platform years behind in reality.
China has inched the US in most parameters and are at a faster progressive rate, while the US in status has a declining commitment in most parameters relatively. Thank you. A mere look into the AI sector speaks enough. “Among the top AI research institutions in the US, 38% of the talent comes from China.” |
Education › Re: Countries By Average IQ by Omotaday(m): 2:20pm On Dec 18, 2025 |
CodeTemplarr: United States may be far away from Russia and China but are a smart nation overall. If there is anything like nation IQ, USA will dwarf all others. The reason is simple, they have taken time to allow all other races grow the body of knowledge via reaearch. No one come close to that. The researchers driving chinese system today are largely USA trained or inspired. In short, they reversed the babylonian confusion syndrome above any other. This statement would be true if this was 20,30 years ago. Today, it’s the opposite, it’s mostly Chinese researchers driving R & D and innovations in the US especially the IT field. Take AI for example, large percentage of the researchers in the US working on all these popular LLMs are chinese These guys would finish from Perkins or Tsinghua University University to do PHD in the US, then Google, NVIDIA or OpenAI will snatch them. |

odejimioflagos: This is a big blow to South Africa. They should have done the right thing and addressed the issue. How can they host G20 and not give a representative from the US embassy a chance to speak? Because an host should only hand over to a leader of the next host or a senior staff such as the Secretary of State. However, US decided not to attend but send a random junior staff to get the hand over. Very demeaning. No county has been this condescending to an host country before. SA handed over to an empty seat. SA did the right thing, very proud of them. |

Abagworo: Ohu means slaves and came to be as a result of end in transatlantic slave trade so those unsold in different communities were accepted as settlers but not given full rights as the Freeborns in the locality. Most families don't really care or notice who is Ohu or not in everyday life but in occassions like Chieftaincy and things that have to do with deep traditional practices they are excluded How do they keep track of the families with ohu lineage? How accurate is the labelling? |

buckeyemedia: Nigeria should cut them off, nothing we are benefiting from those homosexual loving Oyibos.
Christian genocide indeed. Not sure it’s viable to cut them off totally. We can’t self-sustain, and if the hardship bites hard, it’s the same Nigerians that will be crying for foreign help. We can continue to assert our sovereignty and improve self-reliance. I’m looking at this development from both directions, I see some positivity to it. I believe this can prompt the government to take the issue of insecurity seriously (which I doubt, we are not serious, and we are not ready). |
