PoliticsRe: Osinbajo: We’re Proud Of Our Achievements As Government by onecmus: 1:50pm On Aug 02, 2022
People don't mind people.
Most are too lazy to read.
But are quick to respond to matters.
Others are too biased to be objective.
PS
I'm not a fan of this government in any way.
But I counsel that people just read before they make comments.[Qquote author=TheRareGem1 post=115291154]I'm very sure majority won't read the content of this post.
How would you know that the VP was represented by his DCOS or that he said "As a government, we are proud of the achievements already recorded by NAPTIP" grin grin[/quote]
Christianity EtcRe: Catholic Diocese Of Enugu Shuts Down Father Mbaka's Adoration Ministry by onecmus: 11:42am On Jun 18, 2022
It is not expressing his personal opinion if he calls someone names because they didn't offer him money.
In fact, listening to the exchange on the day HE Peter Obi was there, he was asked to make a project of his choice that would be funded.
I'm a minister of the gospel and Fr. Mbaka didn't get this one right.
If scripture says your left hand doesn't need to know what your right hand is giving, it's a principle.
And by the way, if someone decided not to give to the ministry, it's their right.
It doesn't reduce what God is doing by and with the reverred Father.
God called him and he if he stays doing God's work, it doesn't matter what others do or don't do.
Parachoko:
At a mosque in Abuja, an Alfa was suspended for criticising Buhari, people wailed bitterly about it. They said there is freedom of speech, and the Alfa shouldn't have been suspended indefinitely for castigating Buhari.

I hope those set of people wey wail against the removal of the Alfa will also wail bitterly about the removal of Father Ejike Mbaka for expressing his opinion.
Car TalkRe: How True Is This Myth About Honda And Toyota Car Engines? (pictures) by onecmus: 1:06pm On May 02, 2022
Thank you boss. You're so right!
Before anyone gets into this long standing debate about vehicles, do a little research of your own.
Check reviews from professionals and do your analysis.
Whichever vehicle you pick, you will find its pros and cons, engine performance, suspension, fuel efficiency, maintenance, handling and all... That's the only way you can make an informed decision.
Car manufacturers don't put their all into a single vehicle.
And they modify vehicles as they design newer models (they have to do this to stay in the market)
But Toyota vehicles sell more than some of the other Japanese brands for a reason.
Of course the more people make demands for the Toyota, it's price will go up(this na economics oh...)

Come to think of it, some 25 years ago in Nigeria, Honda was on higher demand (the Honda accord 1993 -98 aka Hala...) Before that, Peugeot 504, 505 and the rest...
People's appetites change as time passes.

I usually avoid threads like this, filled with "beer parlor" information from ignorant and uninformed people, but I have time this morning, na bank holiday here.

Sometimes e good to apply common sense to everything in life first.

Toyota is overwhelmingly the most popular automaker in much of Nigeria, except for pockets in the North where its often neck and neck with or beaten by Honda, Peugeot, etc.

Applying common sense to this fact, which brand engines you feel say go full market?

If 6 of 10 vehicles on the roads are Toyota vehicles, would you expect to go to an auto parts market and 6 of 10 engines would be Honda engines? Common sense.

If 6 of 10 people own toyotas, knowing Nigerians are generally bad at vehicle maintenance, which model you feel say people go find their spare parts more? Common sense

Are Toyotas perfect? Definitely not. Specific models have specific issues. But una no dey ever tire for this "Toyotas are light" or "Toyotas are easily stolen", among several other ignorant and unsubstantiated statements?

Toyotas are in high demand all over the world. It is not a Nigerian phenomenon. The Corolla is the best selling passenger sedan worldwide for a reason, and the people that came up with that conclusion did not even factor Nigeria into their research, because how many people dey buy car brand new for Nigeria?

If toyotas are in such high demand and command relatively high prices compared to similar models in the same class, which models do you think thieves would target?

Thief wey steal Honda Civic, how much you feel say im go sell am for?

Third wey vandalize Honda Accord parts like ECU, window switches, Entertainment system, how much e go sell am for?

Why that thief no go target Toyota instead?

Common sense.

Whenever you wan claim say Toyotas dey light, get online and find the gross weight of the model, and compare it with the gross weight of a similar non-Toyota in the same category. You may find that the Toyota may be lighter or heavier than the other model. The point is, enlighten yourself with facts, not what Monsuru mechanic said after 6 bottles.

If person begin analyse all the ignorance fueled information on this page, e go be full time job, I already have one of those, so I no do.

If after this, common sense still no wan enter your head, my brother or sister, carry go.

PoliticsRe: The Mistake Tinubu Made In The APC Marriage – Adebanjo - From Vanguard by onecmus:
If we want to be honest as Nigerians, we must admit that our problem isn't corruption in the sense we like to put it.Our main issue is injustice it is there but we always turn our eyes away some people who have control of the press try to pull wool over our eyes telling us what we should see as most important. Frankly,we are not a nation yet. Yes we are from different backgrounds. Yes we have interests peculiar to us and our various tribes, states and regions. But when we claim to be a nation,we cannot but be fair to all and respect everyone as the are and respect each other's beliefs. But most importantly, our nation must always come first. Our first step towards nationhood was this last confab.I followed it and was amazed at how some right thinking people wil say it was a waste of time and"tax payers'" money. Issues were raised and addressed. In fact at some point,my people staged a walk out when it became obvious that others knew how selfish and greedy we had always been.I pray we do the right thing.
God bless the president our country, Buhari.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Biased Reporting Of The Senate Presidency Election By Olukayode Thomas by onecmus: 11:38pm On Jul 15, 2015
It's amazing how silent we can choose to be on issues that should demand our scrutiny. We swallow any and every thing that is thrown at us. So,whatever propaganda and lies some politicians are able to cook up and feed us,we jump at them like hungry lions. We never ask questions that we really should. Our nation and our people are becoming unintelligible by the day.
Whether we like to admit it or not, some of our politicians were smart enough to understand the power of the media and also the naivety of our people. They realised early that we rarely ever verify anything. So they tell us what they want us to believe, through the media strike some sentiments in us and that settles it. We assume the position they present before us,never asking how true.
We are better than this.
Let's start behaving like people who are.
The bickering gets really old.
