I just found Near East University offers medicine. Anyone have an idea how their medical degree is run(whether in conjunction with a Turkish university like EMU), if their graduates are licensed to practice in Nigeria and if they are qualified to take the USMLE and the UK-PLAB.

There's also TAU and Greenheart in Guyana. Both seem quite good and are listed in AVICENNA and IMED.

You simply wait at the gate like every other student while they call your name. You collect your passport and go home. They don't disturb you.

Anyone know how much on-capmus,single room accomodation with basic utilities(incl. Internet) will cost at EMU?

Pls include the price ranges I.e cheapest to most expensive. I've checked out the accomodation website and its quite up there. Just wonder if there's other accomodation not listed.

I visited the University for the first time in 2009 in their Larnaca campus. Its ranked higher than all Nigerian Universities based on academic, infrastructure and scholarly publications in referred journals. They are also good at soft professional management programs.

What do you think of booking two separate airlines from Nigeria in this order;
1.Emirates--Lagos to Istanbul
2.Turkish airlines--Istanbul to Ercan.

Is this feasible? Information reaching me is that its cheaper to fly Emirates to Istanbul rather than Turkish.

To notarise sponsorship letter,

1. Type it up on letterheaded paper.
2. Leave space to sign blank for both yourself and your sponsor.
3.Go to court and ask where the public notary is, they'd direct you to the chamber of one who has been saddled with the task of doing it.
4.Go with your sponsor who would read the letter out in front of lawyer and you'd both sign.
5.The lawyer notarises it.
6.You pay #1500(might be more or less depending on lawyer and location)
7.Thank him and go home.

Ilodigweudoka: for me, i missed my jan 3 appointment cos i got my confirmation letter on 31st dec. which means my name wont be at the embassy for now. i have planned visiting the embassy end of next week without re-applying, when i believe my name must have arrived there.

DO NOT! And I repeat DO NOT! Go to the embassy without an appointment. That's the first thing they would ask you. You risk being thrown out!

Send an email to the embassy explaining the situation, they'd give you a new date. I had the same issue.

Is university of nicosia in north or south cyprus? And is it even a good school? I've a friend going there.

FOR OTHER APPLICANTS:

I sent 45 acceptance letters just few minutes ago kindly check your email. After today's meeting, it has been concluded that the payment can still be receive till 17th of January for those yet to pay...Any update..i shall screen it out here.


We have also partnered with Chinese universities for those that would like to spend some time in China during the summer as part of their education ...ONLY for registered EMU students and exemption will be given for courses taken at China......currently am the temporary coordinator.

wip7: Confirmation List sent on 31st Dec 13-EMU

EMU has sent another 250 names to embassy on last day of last year and should be at embassy around 6 of January, 14.

I have sent 20 confirmation letters also today to applicants, kindly check your email, these new confirmation letters will be send to embassy next week.

For those yet to get official acceptance letter from me, kindly relax i will be sending some today or next week.

For those that have submitted their visa application to Turkish embassy..we just received info on your details from embassy and the embassy will be replied tmr with the requested info.

I went with all that. The man that first checks your documents at the gate removed it from mine saying they weren't necessary. Its the guy that checks your documents and arranges them before you meet the consular.

Have you tried sending your telex copy to EMU's registrar email. They don't reply emails but once na money mata dem go respond. Might take 2-3days.

Ilodigweudoka: its close to MOE but am not too sure of the proximity to the embassy. but i strongly believe that the fare from there to embassy is betwn 300 to 500 for taxi. you all know movement in abj town is via taxi no pick n drop bustop to bustop except that long shuttle bus that only plies one route.
so wether close or far taxi will always collect round figure 500, so far its called taxi. pick the green cabs they seem to be cheaper than other electronic ones. hope it helps

Alright didn't read your message correctly at first.
Its not necessary if the age on your documents rhyme and you aren't past the age of 25, that's if you're applying as an undergrad.

If the age on your passport and documents tally, why would you need it.

And where did you see It stated as a requirement?

Ilodigweudoka: yes, even less than a day. when you get to 8th floor of the secretariat ask of MOE's office for evaluation and authentication, inside the office you will see a post of A4 sized paper pasted inside of a transparent glass that has a skye bank info of where to pay the money for the number of result you which to authenticate. so you know the number of result you want to authenticate as each cost #300. so if it olevel, degree and transcript, thats #900. rush staright to the bank once you get the info make the payment and come back with your teller and wait for them to open their office cos they open up by 10am so by then you are already set for the whole change of teller to reciept and submission of documents. while others are busy waiting to be refered to the bank you are already done and submitted. i bet you if you submit before 11am your doc will be among the once to be sent in early for signing and by 2pm or so you are done. *ceteris paribus* all things being equal.

I'm sure you do not have the original copy of your result so you needed to authenticate the copy you've because I believe those with either original result (o-levels/Bsc transcript) and foreign O and A-levels do not need authentication from MOE.

it's not a big deal man. You only need it if you're using company account. If you're using the personal account of your sponsor you don't need it.

Aunty,no need to make this thread unnecessarily long na,you could have asked all your questions in one post.

For the best accomodation, visit the emu international office page and navigate your way around. You can google the IO page.

As per a-levels direct entry, I believe you'd need to send them your results.
They'd then compare d modules you took at AS and A2 and give you credits for that at EMU meaning you wouldn't have to take a full course load and can graduate in a shorter length of time.

just returned from Ministry of edu abj on saturday. currently in lagos. most students i met going to cyprus where rushing to ministry of foriegn affairs too but i and some other colleagues told them that its really not pertinent to go there for anything.


advice to others going to avoid going on a fruitless journey they've all planned not to work this week till jan 6. sorry for passing the info late but just note that. i have been suffering from the abuja's hazzy wind and cold.

Alright that's great man. So that means anyone that gets an appointment earlier than jan6 and hasn't been to MOE wouldve 2 reschedule appointment.

From what I've been reading, I'm not seeing anyone here with a december appointment.
