I will keep saying that Tinubu gained nothing from sidelining Elrufai after publicly begging him to work with him, rather he lost a lot of goodwill from young northerners who are solidly with Elrufai. The reason why northerners stood with Tinubu against their own Atiku was because of the concept of "Amana (Trust)" that the likes of Elrufai stoked in their conscience to vote a Southerner. To see Tinubu go against that Amana leaves a bitter taste in the mouth of northerners.

Contrary to what most people think, even a repeat of 2023 three-way tickets with Tinubu, Obi and Atiku running separately will be tougher than expected because this time, a lot of northerners that voted Tinubu last time will vote Atiku.
