Matthew briggs: Brilliant ideas but poor user interfaces, experiences and execution... its really sad most developers are not open to creative collaboration.

u can switch between different modes using the mode chips available over here, Available modes are Backup PS2s mode, backup PS1 and Off mode(DVD mode), Note: these modes go back to the backup PS2 mode when u switch off and On or go to standby mode and come back on, d normal way, to switch to DVD mode when the standby light is on(red), press and hold reset button till u feel a jerk by the game and the blue light comes on, now u can watch the DVDs matching your Region or region free ones, but not play your backup PS2 Cds.

@texazzpete , Honestly I have played and ended Zelda - Ocarina of time, And almost finished Zelda Majora's mask (Skull kid guy) but got 2 busy 2, stopped @ the Zora egg arc with the Zora guitar guy's mask, Zelda is a wonderful game but MGS's Kojima breaks the fourth wall so much to let you think u r in d game, which makes MGS more perfect and Makes Legend of Zelda 2nd only 2 MGS. I recommend MGS, Zelda, Final fantasy, Halo and Splinter Cell 2 Everyone.

@lungwun Metal gear is the best, The bosses can trace your blood trails, wet foot prints, The only time you shoot around is when Alert has been sound and you can only shoot to escape. I've played both Metal gear is more fun and Action packed than Splinter cell.
The concept of Splinter cell double agent is nice, But the concept of Metal gear's Ocelot 3ple agent is Better (CIA, KGB, GRU)

Metal Gear is so real and Fun that when Snake is shot, you'll have to eject the bullet using knife, then disinfect it with a disinfectant and then bandage to stop the bleeding (therby not getting to hungry and the blood trail stops), If it is a broken bone u'll use a Splint, rope and bandage, same for other injuries.

With all this Metal Gear is my best game. thumbs up Mr Kojima. You are the best.

If the sound card worked before formating try to remember it's name, then post it's name or search for it's drivers. If you can't remember the name check if it's onboard or PCI based, If it's PCI check round it's body for any sticker with numbers or name, on the card itself for any label, but if it's onboard, my former PC's sound card was onbard but on the sound chip ESS (ess Alegro was it's real name) was boldly written, Though not all card can be gotten from this method But try, it's the name that matters it could get you to a detailed review site of ur card.

Hey bro SATA hard drives come with a floppy disk that contains the drivers (like every other RAID drive), but Laptops of today do not come with floppy drives, This is what you should do;
1. Get this Drivers either by download or any other method, but when you have it, send it to a Flash drive that your bios detects from the start, When the XP starts loading it's interface and says Press F6 to load a RAID driver, Hit the button, move to your flash drive and select the drivers.

2. You can also create a bootable XP cd that has the RAID drivers in it already, adjust some INIs and The unattended setup should make it easier.

3. Since VISTA is installed already Start the setup from within Vista OS, so it'll copy the necessary files for the setup, restart your computer, you'll see 2 profiles, Your normal Vista or the XP setup files, I think you can continue from here.

This error is caused by your computer trying to boot from a non bootable source, Maybe your Master boot record is bad or something might have corrupted you boot ini, maybe your computer is trying to boot from a non bootable drive due improper order or check if your hard drive is detected at all (check the IDE cable), I've had my fair share of this error in the past so these are the ways I bypassed it;

1. Check if your hard drive is detected in your BIOS, if not check the IDE, rescan for changes, if it is detected Set the boot order making sure after your cdrom it's the name of the hard disk with OS that comes first before the one without an OS, Remove any floppy from the drive, disCONNECT http://wap.mtnonline.com@every Card reader connected.

2. If the above didn't work, Get a bootloader or if your PC has one (my new one came with one, and can be accessed via the f8 button). The bootman that I have once used and tested is OSL Bootman, it works great only after sometime you start experiencing this lengthy nagging screen.

3. IF it still persists, get a windows installation CD, Log unto the recovery console, enter your administrator password. get to know the drive letter assigned to your CD drive (assuming its E) enter E:\>i386\ copy NTDETECT.com C: (assuming C is Windows drive letter) also D:\>i386\ copy NTLDR.com C:

4. If It didn't work, try the command line; FixBoot or FixMBR.

5. IF it still persist create and new boot ini and place in your OS's root folder.

The Beta version of XP SP3 was released earlier this year which featured over a thousand fixes, the final version will be released in the second half of this year.

Sp3 has not been released yet, but If it was a clean Installation you did (ie You Deleted the former windows folder before starting a new one), then Yiur problem is the Registry, It didn't carry over the past registry, therefore re-installing the individual softwares will do (just backup the INIs you need).

@Sting Microsoft only Released a Beta version, Final is still in development.

Install Firefox to another directory, rename the file to something different from it's default filename.
To remove the malware manually post the name of the files that are running in the task-manager, and also the name of the files in your MSconfig's startup.

Hey guys this thread is for repairing scratched CDs. Toothpaste is a common method but the best is Brasso;
Wash the surface (don't use detergent but use Soap), Beware don't let the water stay for too long on the Label surface (don't wash the labeled surface), dry clean it, and then midly polish the scratches, not circularly bur radially (from inside out), Try this it works.

Another method is Car wax (works great resurfaces it).
Any other Ideas out there? feel free to share your Bright Ideas.

Bleam sucks, there are better ones that even if it's a p1 PC you have you'll have over 30fps, but for the PS2, the requirement is a little steep (for over 30fps you'll need a 64bit cpu and a 256 mb Video card), this is because the individual roms were reverse engineered. but call 08084908380 for more info.
