It a good thing you are thinking towards that direction however, I will share my opinion and experience having been a digital marketing for over 6 years and counting.
When it comes to competing with giants in the industry, I would advise that it is not viable, reason is that those giants have really dominated the market and the only way to compete with them is through paid digital strategies which you may have to invest more than millions.
Even if you have millions, it is still risky because online business is based on trust and relationships which you will have to build gradually. Though using Influencer Marketing can give you an edge but them, it requires another million.

Therefore, If you really want to go that route, you will have to:
1. Set aside millions for paid ads, influencer marketing. PR and search engine optimization. They are digital strategies that can give you an edge
2. Make sure you are going for a niche market
3. Invest in a good content marketing strategy to build a relationship with your market
4. Offer a lot of freebies, giveaways, contests, etc.

NB: It may take you up to a year to begin to see positive results but if this is your dream, then be consistent and you will reap success at the right time.

I have messaged AE customer support and also chatted up the seller and asked what is going on...He or she asked if I've a paypal account and I responded in the affirmative/yes.

The shop owner is in the best position to tell you if the order was from you. Ask them to check their order to confirm if the order is from you. However be careful because it could be scam too.

Just monitor the order and the delivery as well and when they ask you to pay for anytime, that when you will know that it is scam

That depends on what you want to purchase and when you want to use it.

If I want to get a wig for a wedding, I order it a month ahead and I use free shipping but if it is an urgent product, you can use any of the paid shipping. Aliexpress shipping is very reliable

Send a message to the seller and they will tell you why your shipping is been delay. it could be due to custom, massive order or because it is season. But call them because sometime it would be that the product has arrive but local post office didnt notify you.

Delays in receiving shipment usually depends on customs and most times the sellers as well
I have bought products that gets to me in 2 weeks or less using free shipping.
Again you have to also be strategic when making orders
