HesInMe:If your own interpretation of "transcends" or "beyond" in the context does not mean 'outside of' or 'independent of', I am not responsible for any other malicious meanings of yours. And mind you, " a person's success was beyond his ritual killing" cannot be equated with ' a person's success was beyond ritual killing". If you can't see the difference in the two sentences, I can't help. |
HesInMe:What is wrong with the statement? I commented that someone was very strategic and you responded that his being strategic was as a result of insider information. I gave a reply that what made the man thick was beyond insider information. I even advised you to read the man's numerous comment on this thread. Stick to the disscussion and stop teaching me your nutshell knowledge of what insider information is. |
HesInMe:You may need to read the man's trading/investing positions here to know that his enormous strength transcends insider information. |
Mfunkynation:The man is awesome. His knowledge of the market is top class. His moves are always strategic. And his opinion about the market or stock is always predicated on sound reasonings. Respect. |
Streetinvestor2:IB was no doubt a bigger bank in terms of assets and customers. Even Access had to relocate their head office from Oyin Jolayemu to Danmole, the then IB headquarters, after the merger. The power that be at the time wanted to get rid of the Bank and Akingbola. |
mikeapollo:Time will actually tell. We are only try to make permutations based on our assessment of the dominant figures in the 'merger'. I think the word 'likely' I used is also pointing to the fact that my position is not a certainty. It is highly probable, though. |
PropTrader:You are very very very correct on "he appear averse to stock exchange quotation" The situation may not be perfectly clear now, it is nonetheless a fact that Providus Bank post whatever arrangement is likely to be a privately owned bank. |
wiki15:I feel constrained to say that this position is not rooted in law or any regulatory directive. Even the licenses of the major fintech companies have been upgraded to national licences and they still remain private companies. |
megawealth01:Oga Mega, what if Providus Bank ends up as a private company? Well, a pay off can be an inheritance too. |
Many thanks! freeman67: |
Please do you know the operator in charge of the ongoing Mecure Commercial Paper? freeman67: |
ernie4life:Many thanks on this information. Do you have the details of the CP? I am interested. |
stokfrick:Insider trading is a form of market abuse. It is criminalized in all financial markets. Many big time investors and corporate executives have gone down because of their involvement in insider trading in the west. The challenge in Nigeria is lack of will power on the part of the SEC to bring the offenders to book. I am optimistic SEC will wake up to their responsibility as many knowledge investors start voicing out against the scourge as you have done here. |
zendi:Very true. And I am happy some of the promoters of the junk stocks are bold enough to tag the junk stocks with their appropriate names "gamble" "speculation" e.t.c. The tag is enough caveat. There is no law prohibiting letting out or selling inhabitable property. The rule is let the buyer beware. |
donshady:I also solicit information on the available commercial papers offers in the market at present |
IamR:I think this link can be of help https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/resources/wealth-management/high-net-worth-individual-hnwi/. And the SEC Rules attached by Oga Emma in his last post is clear and unambiguous too. It can also be a useful guide. It is commonsensical to define networth as amalgam of all form of assets. But the conceptual meaning is the challenge here. |
emmanuelewumi:I feel 500 Million Naira is even small. By international standard, high net worth individuals are those with liquid assets of minimum of One Million Dollar and above. |
ositadima1:The generally acceptable assets that are relevant in computing net worth are very liquid assets like stocks, bonds, cash, etc and not fixed assets. |
Locotrader:The same TrippleG I bought about 17 years ago at N19+. People will not stop paying school fees in this market. |
That’s your opinion, and I respect that. But just like you, I have the right to hold mine. This was the same argument I had with him back then—don’t discourage others just because you got burned in the past. Oando did 13 baggers, and whether you refuse to touch it with the longest pole on earth or not, that fact remains unchanged. It has yet to crash as Oga Emma predicted. Let’s watch and see. There is NOTHING to watch and see. You invested in Oando because you believe in it while others invest in other stock they believe. You MAY win or lose in your Oando while others MAY win or lose in other stocks they believe. I will still not invest in Bitcoin despite the huge returns the earlier buyers made. The best run companies still run into problem but that will not be my basis of investing in the company whose management is not sincere IN MY ESTIMATION. We can argue to on the basis of data and information that made us believe in a stock but we will do well by not attacking personalities. |
It seems you have something against this Pa. Emma. Many of us on this platform have diligently followed him and our gratitude to him knows no bound. He has never claimed to know everything. He even said in one of his comments here that he has been wrongs on several occasions. And on his stance on Oando, many of us share his sentiments here. Many of us will not touch Oando even with 10000% returns. There are many opportunities in the market to place myself at the mercy of an individual I don't believe in. We must not unwittingly discourage those who made this forum a priceless ground that has transformed lives. =ositadima1 post=134119326]Presco - 70%. That’s my progress so far; I have no reason to lie, unlike some people here. Now, think with me—Pa Emma has been praising Presco since late last year, around November. Yet, despite all the hype, Presco has only gained about 70%. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a solid stock, which is why I entered early in the year after selling Dangote Sugar. But the one he vehemently dismissed? It did over 13 baggers—13, not 3, but 13! Oando! What I’m saying is, the so-called gurus aren’t always right. Don’t let their opinions limit you, especially when they call a stock worthless. Just because you had a bad experience doesn’t mean history will repeat itself. And failing to manage your affairs properly doesn’t mean everyone else will fail the same way. That’s simply not true.
|
ernie4life:Many thanks, Sir |
I read in the news that MTN was planning issuance of another Commercial Paper. Do we have anybody who have its details? |
emmanuelewumi:Sir EmmanuelEwumi- your submissions 'forced' me to log in and comment having been a silent reader of your various positions on investment issues for the past 10 years. You, and the other gurus in this thread, are gifts to humanity. You will never know the impacts you are making. More blessings,Sir. |
