Nigeria is for all of us.And we have all the right to ask questions bothering on the unity of the nation.WHY SHOULD ARABIC BE USED IN THE FIRST PLACE?

why should we have Latin as motto of some federal institutions?
Politics / Re: Meaning Of The Arabic Word On Nigerian Army Logo by opey25(m): 3:48pm On Dec 13, 2015

Latin is more of a "universal" language. Its like a lingua franca of the world. like the one on the One Cent of the USA.
But this, this is Nigeria for fvck sakes, you don't expect a country of diverse ethnicity and religions to use what others think is a "religious language" (which is not far from the truth) on national emblems and the national currency (I think the currency ish is no more there)
Latin universal language? I guess u are joking.the best solution is to remove all foreign languages from our national emblems, federal institutions and law courts.if you think Arabic letters promotes islam,we muslims also think Latin promotes the roman catholic church(christianity).

Look at the Arabic inscription on everything "national", and later they'll go on and tell the igbos and Yorubas that its one Nigeria!
I pray God opens our eyes when its not too late
why do we have Latin as the motto of federal institutions like UI and UNILORIN.

My dear, your point is baseless in the sense that if you open your english dictionary, you will see thousands of Latin and Greek words there together with their meanings.
So, my questions are:
Who wrote the dictionary?
How many Arabian and Persian words are in the english dictionary?
Are the words Biology and Mathematics originated from english words?
Thanks as I await for your answers.
there are thousand of words that are of Arabic or persian origin in the English dictionary.eg assassin, algebra etc .you can check Google for further research.

English language contains Latin and Greek words
English Language also contain Arabic and Persian words. The motto of UI and UNILORIN are pure Latin.can we also ask Nigerian authorities to change it to English since we don't speak Latin in Nigeria.Latin is linked to the roman catholic church.

everything to some people is politics in Nigeria. what is wrong in us having the logo what it is? If you think with your religion, you must have your way in everything in Nigeria, then you are not fair and you cannot realize your expectation. How would you see it if the Muslims too ask for holiday on Fridays to allow them go to mosque like you people do on Sunday? You diplomatically argue, mend and manipulate issues to favour yourselves rather than allowing God to have His way. We understand the basis of your question. ''no be today''

Muslims are the best of mankind!
perfect response for the bigots.some universities(eg University of Ibadan ) in Nigeria have Latin as their motto. We muslims didn't complain that Latin is one of roman Catholic languages.

how did you know he was hoping to get ND republic after the war.he wouldn't have tried it after seeing the adverse effects of war in Biafra. Your hero Ojukwu also died as a Nigerian, why didn't Nnamdi Kanu and bury him as a Biafran and give him a state burial?

The problem with you guys is that you think minorities of old Eastern region still believe in Nigeria

Just watch how they will abandoned ship
you don't have to force them to go with you.they (minorities) are aware that igbos might want to dominate them in biafra. at least they have produced a president in Nigeria ,so they can't say they are being marginalised in Nigeria. The truth is that,if GEJ had won the last presidential election, the agitation for biafra would not have been as strong as it is now. You guys felt GEJ might want to handover to an Ibo man in 2019,that was why you gave him your full support. He even scammed you by calling himself Azikiwe.

you couldn't even counter his claims with facts. Biafra still has a lot to do with people of low level reasoning like you.He said biafra will be an enclave within Nigeria and it might be difficult for it to prosper if you don't have good relations with your neighbour. I would like you to Google the meaning of an enclave.

The last time, you had USSR, Britain and Egypt supplying you unlimited amount of weapons, yet for every one Biafran soldier that died in battle, 6 Arewa-Oduanistanis were killed, last time around you couldn't win by conventional means, so you resorted to unconventional means.

I have news for you, if you are still itching for Biafran blood to spill, be rest assured that the world is in the ICT age, you wouldn't get unlimited supply of weapon from Britain nor USSR support now, your starvation policy will not be tolerated by the world in this ICT age, your Arab partners would rather supply weapons to Boko haram to establish an Islamic Sharia state in NE, NC, NW and SW, while you were busy fighting Biafrans and left your territories and people defenseless.

Furthermore, you have next to nothing to offer the world powers to fight your battle for you, and unlike in 60's Africa have another giant in form of South Africa, so you are not going to get AU queuing behind you like you did in 60's, those countries hate you and would gladly see to your destruction.

You are currently financially too broke to finance a Two pronged war in NE and Biafra.

So, while you stay in your neck of woods full of thirst for Biafran blood like demons you are, I would advise you to check your cards well, and see that the dynamics that gave you the advantage in 60's had all changed and non Of them is in your favour.

Be advised.

God bless Biafra!
Death to those who wish harm to Biafra and Biafrans.
Peace to men of Goodwill and lovers of wisdom.
biafra also had israel, france and the Vatican City supporting it.

Am I getting you here? Are you saying that anyone that leaves islam in saudi arabia will be (or is to be) treated as a treasonable offense? Let me get you clear.
All Muslims in living in KSA are aware that apostasy is punishable by death. Anyone that want to convert to other religions can quietly leave KSA and go elsewhere in order to avoid the punishment. Vatican City is regarded as a sovereign state,do you think anyone will be permitted to openly profess any other religion except christianity.

there's no need to play sides here. Call a spade a spade.

Islam gives no conditions to it. so many Christians have been killed for apostisizing in Islamic countries, and I didn't see how they "disrupted the peace of the community".

if Christians retaliate by putting these laws in place in Christian countries such as US, UK, Canada, etc, we all know you lots won't like it.

there are no conditions given for the capital punishment of apostasy in Islamic countries. Whenever a citizen becomes an apostate, he is to be killed, end of story. No need of trying to justify this barbaric act.
every country has its laws,in the US federal law treason is punishable by death.Thats why Edward Snowden is scared of going back to the US.Even in military laws worldwide a soldier that defects to the enemy side might be executed. So there is nothing strange if a country that practises sharia decides to execute an apostate.

Don't be stupid we can not exonerate islam and the Muslim lunatics who populate ISIS.

It's just like trying to absolve the assassin and blame only the contractor.

If Islam was not a violent degenerate religion then how will US get to sponsor a bunch of losers who have wet dreams of reliving mohammed's criminal past.

Ask yourself why the US is not sponsoring Buddhist monks.

most Buddhist nations aren't oil rich, that's why US isn't interested in plundering their resources.

What are you saying? Being literate is being able to read. Anyone can read. What matters is the ability to understand and apply knowledge. If the Northerners were educated they would know that having Sharia Courts, Suicidal tendencies, female genital mutilation, preventing kids from going to school etc are terrible ideas and should not be encouraged. But no, despite being able to read and write they fail to be educated. [/quote having sharia courts is not a terrible idea.there are sharia courts in the middle east and the countries are prosperous .
