I think it's my phone wifi that has prob,tried to connect to multiple wifi but couldn't. As promised, Microsoft updated its high-end productivity tablet lineup today with the Surface Pro 4. The veritable convertible device has retained most of the design of its predecessor and the exact same form factor as well, while bringing some major improvements. Indeed, the Surface Pro 4 has retained its footprint, but trimming the bezels allowed a more spacious 12.3" display to replace the 12" of the Surface Pro 3. The body was also slimmed-down and now sits at just 8.4mm, while still offering a magnesium build and a kickstand with a full-function multipurpose hinge. The display is impressively sharp with a resolution of 2736 x 1824 pixels and 267 ppi. Naturally, the screen has also retained its convenient ten point multi-touch functionality, now more fluent and precise than ever thanks to Microsoft's new PixelSense Display technology. This all should amount to a beautiful viewing experience and also quite a lot of screen real estate to get your job done on the go. Of course, most power users will be buying the Surface Pro 4 for its productivity while docked. The dock still plays a major part of the Surface experience and this new iteration is even convenient enough to be compatible with the accessories of its predecessor, namely the docking station and Type Cover. Now, there is something you don't see every day. There is also an upgraded version of the signature keyboard, now complete with a fingerprint reader and a new button design, said to improve the all-important typing experience. The trackpad also got bigger by 40%, along with the promise of an improved scrolling experience thanks to its glass surface. A big part of Surface is undoubtedly the stylus, which Microsoft has also pushed into the next generation. The Microsoft Pen now comes with a new design, complete with a virtual eraser on the back, which does just what you would think an analog-style redo for your creations. The Pen also comes with a wide selection of interchangeable tips that can radically alter your writing or drawing experience, simulation anything from a fine-tip to a HD pencil. The Pen is capable of detecting an impressive 1024 levels of pressure and last, but not least, it now attaches to the side of the surface via magnet, so it is always at your convenience. But, the Surface Pro 4 wouldn't be complete without some true horsepower under the hood. This year around, Microsoft has managed to cram an even more powerful sixth generation Intel chip (Core m, Core i5 or Core i7) inside the tablet, kept running cool by a new hybrid cooling system (there's a fan now). The tablet comes with an integrated Intel HD graphics chip (515, 520 or Iris 540, respectively). It can easily handle every task you throw at it. The rest of the specs include up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage. Of course, Windows 10 runs the show, switching seamlessly between tablet-friendly and PC productivity modes and features.

Adding up the points should give us an idea of an overall winner as at September 2015: AssistantScore out of 200 Cortana145 Google Now144 Siri131 Blackberry Assistant94 Interestingly, the actual voice recognition (my 'Fore Street' trick and names like 'Beowulf' aside)was first class on all four assistants, I checked the interpretation on-screen as I went. So any limitations are not in the voice recognition end - they're at the back-end, on the servers where queries are parsed and fielded with appropriate actions and responses. And so this is where progress still needs to be made. You'll notice I didn't hold back in my queries in terms of trying to make them more palatable with AI - the things I was saying would be handled far better by a human assistant, who could easily get close to a perfect 200. So I think we've still got some way to go before voice assistants on smartphones become truly ubiquitous and useful for much more than setting reminders and saving typing into web forms. In terms of winners and losers, it's very evident that Blackberry has put zero effort into improving its already lacklustre assistant, it's effectively out of the running from now on. Meanwhile,Siri seems to have stalled a little, perhaps resting on its laurels? Certainly there seem to have been no apparent changes or improvements in its responses over the last few months, at least to my queries. The winners though, effectively tied, are Google now and Cortana, both of which have improved in their intelligence and responses since May, and both proved more consistent overall than even Apple's Siri. Each of the major smartphone platforms has its own voice assistant, but which is better for real world use? They're all getting smarter each year, of course, as their back-ends get upgraded, but as we move towards Autumn 2015 and new versions of the various platforms, I wanted to conduct an updated 'blind' test and get a data point or two. Or twenty. Reversing the result of a smaller sample of queries back in May, we now have an almost dead heat between Cortana and Google Now, with Siri not far behind. Things are hotting up in the voice assistant world! By 'blind', above, I mean that I wanted to make sure that there was no bias of any kind towards any one platform. In order to do this,I thought up the questions in advance(rather than adapting them after trying them on one or other of the systems) and I also tried to be as ambitious and demanding as I thought I could get away with. Each of the voice assistants should be able to handle all of the questions or commands below - if they're smart enough! From left to right, Cortana, Siri, Google Now, Blackberry Assistant Notes/methodology: *.In each case, I've gotten around any accusations that one assistant might have got to know my voice already by using newly reset smartphones. *.If a query or command wasn't responded to perfectly, I tried again at least once, to eliminate random recognition quirks. *.Each device (Nexus 5, iPhone 6, Lumia 930, Blackberry Q10) was on latest firmware (in fact, the 930 was on Windows 10 Mobile, and in a couple of cases the beta (and USA-centric) nature of the OS seemed to interfere, so I switched to my trusty Lumia 1020 instead) and with all patches applied. *.I've scored each response out of ten, to try and achieve an overall final score (out of 200) and ranking.

Continuum can change everything for Microsoft's smartphone push Microsoft’s Build conference wasn't quite the blockbuster event we were hoping it’d be. It was more of a calm before the storm as we head closer and closer to Windows 10. That’s understandable, as so much exciting stuff has been revealed in the preview versions along the journey. It was a little surprising there were no new mobile handsets running Windows 10. However, when they do arrive, we now know they’ll be carrying a killer feature no-one else can offer. Previously only announced for tablets, Continuum will allow Windows 10 phone users to wirelessly connect to a monitor, keyboard and mouse in order to turn their handset into a bona fide PC.Thanks to Universal apps, folks will be able to edit word documents, tweak presentations and even perform split screen functionality like managing email on the phone, while viewing other apps a second monitor without switching between the two apps on a single device. Apple has tried to make it easy to switch phone tasks to OS X with Continuity, and it’s a great concept. Faffing around with a touchscreen damages productivity and it’s great to be able to start a task on one machine and complete it on another. However, being able to upscale universal apps to create a full PC experience directly from the phone itself takes this to the next level. So far, there have been few reasons to jump on board with Windows Phone over the iOS and Android ecosystems; even for loyal PC users. This, along with universal apps, could be the calling the company has been waiting for since the Windows Mobile days.
