uncleteeh:Hello, I tried to reach out to you via but the email did not deliver. Can you confirm your email address? Thanks |
Hello Nairalanders, I'm looking to work with an architect or someone with equivalent experience to create a standard building plan. I'm a business owner looking to hire a consultant architect/design person who can bring to life my vision of a unique sustainable building designed for the brand. I'm looking specifically for designs based on CSEB - compressed stabilised earth bricks Interlocking red bricks Hydraform blocks The design will incorporate sustainable building practices that improves the energy efficiency of the building. Passive cooling , building shading , Louvre windows. A mix of traditional with modern practices. Main design considerations 2 storey block of flats Off grid energy solution Biogas as a fuel Building Insulation I want most of the building materials to be sourced locally. You will be working with other engineers to deliver the building plan and final project. Budget N100,000 to N800K depending on certain factors. If this is something of interest to you or you know someone who would be interested please drop a short description of who you are and how you can be of service with your contact and i will surely reach out to you. Note Looking for people who know about earth block technology/have experience with it previously. Thanks ![]()

chris81964:Hello, Can you expand on why slow? Also details of location. This is a technology not widely spoken about in Nigeria that has the potential to provide homes at a reduced cost to Nigerians. Thanks |
Thank you for putting this post up. You don't know how long I've been looking into CSEB / interlocking red bricks as an alternative building material in Nigeria. I have made many enquiries and not had much luck, it's either the people try to overcharge because the technology is not common or the quality of the bricks is poor. I wanted to use earth bricks for a building project i did in Mowe but ultimately had to go with cement blocks. For my next project i want to use CSEB so if you can help me with your contact i can speak to them on what i want to build. If they can help me with the building plan that's also appreciated. I have an idea of what I want to build. I hope your contact can work in Ogun state? Mowe axis Look forward to your response and i am locked into your project. Please share more updates when you can. ![]() Godbless |
Every Nigerian deserves electricity. It breaks my heart that in 2025 we have people living in Nigeria without access to electricity. Nigeria is a country with polar opposites. On one side you have homes with multiple freezers , gadgets with three to four ways of getting electricity, solar , inverter, generator and the grid. On the other side you have people going to bed with candles suffering long power outages. I have a radical belief that if Nigeria can provide electricity to every citizen most of its problems will disappear. The sheer effort and collaboration it takes to achieve such a feat as 100% connection means people will put their differences aside to work for the collective good. The power in unity cannot be challenged. Positive outcomes for Nigeria with constant electricity Cost of production is reduced Connectivity to internet and online is guaranteed Reduced cost of doing business Cost of living is reduced Improved standard of living Industry Growth and investment opportunities Access to e-learning Work from home The benefits are exponential, how to get started? I believe in starting where you are at. I propose a trial project which seeks to provide at least 70% of a homes electricity needs using a mixed use energy solution. Ie solar, wind and inverter. The idea is to have sustainable homes built to show that you can successfully power a home for long period of time without relying on grid supply. The foundation is important so designing homes for our environment with energy efficiency in mind then you need less energy to power a home. Such as shading to reduce direct sunlight, Louvre windows for maximum ventilation, cement stabilised earth bricks/blocks for added insulation and cooling, high foundation, light coloured roof and external walls, trees, vents etc. These and many more design choices can improve the energy rating of a building in Nigeria. Objective Homes with 70% energy needs met by mixed use energy solution Energy efficient homes Project example Size Starting with a plot of aprox 450m2 you can build 4 units of 2 bedroom apartments across two storey. 1MW output energy system can provide all the electricity needs of these apartments. It's not a cheap solution but it's possible with funding and vision. Scaling The goal eventually is to replicate this solution to scale for single streets , block of flats , mini estates. Create stand alone micro grids with future possibilities of connecting to the national grid. Some large energy resources available to Nigeria LFG (land fill gas) this uses waste to generate electricity , bio gas and fuel. Wind power Solar Geothermal Hydro In Nigeria you need a licence and government approval to generate and export electricity for sale however to my knowledge it's permitted to generate electricity for direct use (which Nigerians already do) If i was an elected official my mandate would be encouraging private electricity generation through grants, government incentives. The government cannot do it alone and Nigerians already provide their basic needs themselves. Thanks for reading ![]() Signed Active Nigerian |
Hello My Nairaland people, This post is a call to action find passionate Nigerians who want to start a political party ahead of the 2027 general elections. While I've tried to join existing parties before it became apparent most are not serious and simply an ego boost for the party founder. Motivations Nigerians are really going through it and it's heartbreaking seeing nothing being done large-scale to improve the wellbeing of Nigerians. Taxes being used to sponsor lifestyle while some government schools don't even have toilets. The poor getting poorer while the senate argue about seat changes. It's said change is gradual and there is no such thing as overnight success. Main objectives To register a party ahead of 2027 Get Party volunteers and committee , representation in all geo political regions of Nigeria Get a membership structure in place Funding Manifesto etc Affirmative action I want to emphasize that this party will belong to no one. This is a people led party where every member can speak and rise up to occupy any position. No automatic ticket. Think cooperative , the collective for the collective good. Anyone is welcome if you have extensive knowledge of politics even better. Just respond to this post if you're interested. Serious people only Progress and excellence Signed Active Nigerian #politics #political party #womeninpolitcs #youthinpolicits #2027 #Nigeria #freeNigeria #excellence |
laivwire:Hello, i have a housing project which i plan to start soon where I'm incorporating sustainable building practices such as using cement stabilised earth bricks and louver windows is really good for ventilation. The goal is to design a home without the need of AC (only fan which is optional). If you ever find a good supplier and fitter for this kind of window please update. |

The two fields are closely related as you can easily switch between roles . My advice is go for computer networking are it's not as you have more career prospects in that line , goodluck |
It is not uncommon to hear talks like the Nigerian government is corrupt or that an average Nigerian is corrupt . Why do we accept bad behaviour and lawless behaviour in our society , we are the first people to say it's not good to lie and steal then turn a blind eye to 419, fraud , corruption , fake goods , inferior clothes , dangerous drugs you name it . Our duty as citizens is to report crime and shun bad behaviour , when are we going to take accountability for our contributions to Nigerians current state of affairs . In part our Government, religious institutions, private sector,NGOs are getting away with what we allow them to from the judges, president, religious leaders etc we are not acting but reacting. As a citizen of Nigeria i do not partake in fraudulent or unlawful behaviour , i make it my business to reward and praise good behaviour not by words alone but by my actions. We cannot see evil and turn a blind eye, that evil will not go away even if we want it to .In Essence if we want our government t start taking Nigerian issues seriously we need to take them seriously . Expose lies when you see it ,protest and march when you can. We need to raise our standards in every aspect of life Nigerian lives matter. If you know of any example where someone or something was changed for the better because of public intervention please let me know. |
