It will not be a fair deal for the Social Media platforms if they are taxed, as the Social Media platforms are helping the economy by way of providing an easy communication channel for free to it's users.
The Social Media users pay Value Added Tax Everytime they subscribe for internet. Internet Service Providers also pay taxes.

I do not think it will be a deal for the Social Media platforms if they are taxed; considering that they are helping their users gain profitable contacts. Also, the users pay Value Added Tax Everytime they use the internet; and Internet Service Providers also pay taxes.
