Don't mind the cowards. They wanted to rewrite history. The Oyo Empire only ruled over Yoruba people. They were not bold enough to venture into lands of other tribes.

Point of correction, not even all of Yorubas. Lagos, ilajes, ikales, owos, akokos, ondos, ijares,
Akures, ijeshas, and even coastal ijebus of Oguns were never part of oyo empire. Those were Benin's territories.

For heaven's sake, why do yorubas love revisionist stories? Why do they like overhyping a non existent empire? Furtherst point of oyo kingdom was ogun, parts of osun and ekiti, then occasionally the kingdom of dahomey and even that threw off the yoke of oyo imperialism. Oyo never knew of the river Niger as that was permanently Benin kingdom's jurisdiction. Otun ekiti was Benin's permanent boundary with Oyo, as all the South eastern, coastal and Akoko Yoruba states were permanently Benins'. Records, traditions and folklore stories are there to prove my point. I don't know where you got your stories about oyo kingdom extending to river Niger from.

Yoruba meeeeehn! (sighs) No disrespect but your history is best described as a concotion of mumble jumbos. Starting with a name that was first of all given to you by the Fulanis.
A name that has no meaning or bearing in any of your languages or Ifa,to your fabled Oyo empire that left no relics in history. Thanks to Johnson, Awolowo and the power of media from the first part of 20th century. You people really knew the power of propaganda then and you used it to your best advantage; not nowadays anyway. The supposed Ooni superiority was the British and Awolowo's making. The British thought since Ife was the spiritual home of the Yorubas, hence the Ooni should be superior not minding his place or relevance in history. The Alaafin (Iku babaye) knew this, hence his battle of supremacy with Late Okunade Sijuade while the latter lived. Has anyone ever wondered why the Alaafin and the Oba of Benin never exchanged words amidst these controversies? I'll leave you all to hazard a guess.

If it is the 1897 expedition you are referring to, the Benis are proud of themselves having won the first aggression from the British but fell to the second one.

2) As for number 2, citations and proper evidence needed . Dont bring those ones written by your Yoruba revisionists and propagandists.

3) This is another falsehood emanating from your brain.Attached is a screenshot that says as early as the 16th century, Yorubas were employed as slaves in the Benin palace.

4) The attached screenshot settles it. The lukumi whom you are referring to were simply slaves. Now go run along with your tail between your legs

They know this. Their dirty pride wouldn't allow them agree. They are one of the reasons history is no longer taughtin schools. The current akure royal family is half Benin descent. Oba Orogbhua to be precise.

But Dont Forget That The Mythical History We Had Is That Oranmiyan(the Founder Of Oyo Empire) Was A Powerful And Well Spiritually Fortified Belligerant.
And Then, the Benin Empire Neva Had The Opportunity To Make Good Use Of Calvary Like Oyo Empire.

Am Not Saying That Alaafin Oyo Is Superior.Just Trying To Appreciate And Constructively Critisize Your Point.

It is nice you said mythical history. Every tribe from Africa,Asia,The Americas and even Europeans had their own mythical history. Any historical kingdom or Empire that left nothing for posterity is a cooked up history. Ponder about that.

^Lol at Hausa. That's laughable because they have arguably the thickest naija accent with Igbos.

I think it should be Yorubas based on ratio.

There are more Yoruba pure English speakers in Nigeria than other tribes.

Is itt the same Yoruba people that pronounce Airport as yar-port? This is laughable really.

U know u don't have to support ur tribe everytime.
Loosen up, nobody's fighting with u.

Besides, she asked for the tribe that speaks the best diction, not the ratio of people in the tribe.
There's a difference btw quality and quantity, and I think she meant quality.

I personally think the ''H'' factor, which even some well educated yorubas have, and which I deem the funniest thing to come to naija until patience, would kill any of ur chances.

Pls don't think I'm insulting u, everybody has their funny sides.

Please tell them o.

some will still come and say is Ghana, and...Buhari as individual...

When it comes to dictions and Pronounciations, Ghanaians speak better than us(Nigerians). They do the oral English better.
We just know how imitate other people's accent better. You'll find a Nigerian speaking British English with an American accent which is very amusing to me .

Dunno but they could be a link maybe. there are many ijaw people in Cameroon from Bayelsa so maybe there's a link. And for one there's a place named Cameroon camp in Yenagoa. a place to house the many displaced Nigerians who were affected by the bakassi crisis. They speak a lot of Camtok mixed with Naija pidgin there.

It's very possible. Nigerians that fled from the civil war Nationalized there. Mind you,Nigeria isn't the only country where pidgin is spoken. Even far away in Jamaica, the people there speak pidgin aside patois.

All of ina wey dey carry shout anyhow here no even know the origin of Pidgin English in Nigeria especially the South South Variation of it. Broken English A.K.A Pidgin English was first developed or spoken in Benin City, from there it spread to Urhiapele(Sapele) and other Mid-western towns and villages then,Oil rivers places. The acclaimed warri version of pidgin is like the variant of the Lagos Yoruba language. Even the i-go-die that was mentioned up there started his career from Benin city. The problem is,Edo people no dey announce their progressor achievement their Delta cousins, and it has robbed them off so many things amongst them political and economic benefits for whatever reasons i still can't pin point.
