Politics / Re: FG Summons Dangote, BUA Over Rising Cost Of Cement by Origin(f): 6:49pm On Feb 17
There is no justification in the rise of many goods and services....

Using local materials should not result in high prices from fx. Even if some components of materials are imported .. ..

And this is where we see the true CEOs/MDs. Who always think they are the best because everything goes well. Not all goods can benefit from an increase in prices.....

What is your strategy or will you just blame it on fx. Banks MD have not been able to show any strategy to manage the losses from the floating fx. With all their huge salaries, it's the shareholders bearing the losses

Nigerians should also understand their power and BOYCOTT all goods that are non essential for now.

THE CUSTOMER IS STILL KING. THE POPULACE IS STILL KING.

Politics / Re: DSS Quizzes Sheikh Auwal Shariff For Criticizing Tinubu Over Hardship by Origin(f): 9:52am On Feb 13
That was a ? thing to do. You have not sat with your team, you don't have a plan at hand to reduce the hardship that will result from the removal and you just make pronouncements like that??

You don't know how much you have in the Treasury ( in your own purse ) and yet the first thing you do is buy brand new cars for the legislative and they in turn approve a budget that has no details......

Till now we don't know the plan all we see is rampant travelling.....Does he or his team understand the economy?

But they understand how to enjoy their own good life....

Case in point....

Microsoft has an office in Nigeria but still raises invoices in dollars.

Over to you EFCC.

Not sure they pay WHT or VAT on said invoices. And practically everyone uses their service/ product.
Politics / Re: CAC Hides INTELS Ownership, Frustrates Request For Disclosure by Origin(f): 9:00pm On Feb 06
Information that should be easily accessible online.

Food for thought:

Let the FiRS and CAC link systems - so as to file financial returns once. And let the systems be searchable and updatable. Meaning that financial records of decades can be viewed compared and easily updated.

Industry wide data and statistics. Also procurement details must be separately disclosed. This would aid costing of private and public projects.

Crime / Re: UN Asks Nigeria To End Death Penalty, Rights Violations by Origin(f): 10:09am On Jan 24
The UN should focus on addressing the poverty which has killed more people than the death penalty..

Countries that have truly enforced the death penalty have the least crime...

High cost of living , no jobs, low staff welfare and emoluments, and a very clueless government that has no money but bought cars first and paid bonuses as their first accomplishment.

Who was the policeman in charge of this investigation....

Did the police debrief the children when they returned to their family....

Where are forensics details of this crime ( sophistication of guns/ bullets in use, familiarity with the area etc.

It is the police that should have been interviewed to see the adequacy of our security forces. It's not only prayers we need but adequate technology and personnel to combat insecurity.
Politics / Re: It Will Be Difficult To Dislodge APC In 2027, Declares PDP by Origin(f): 6:01pm On Jan 13
Everything we have seen so far is political moves to ensure 2027....

No economic development , no tangible infrastructural development, no strategy no structure. Just political moves to ensure winning 2027 ....

believing that the people as many as they are , are easily manipulated and so not deserve a good economy....

The assurance that the PEOPLE CAN AND WILL DO NOTHING. THAT IS THE NIGERIAN SITUATION TODAY.

Useless fulani with ethic cleansing mentality

If the discovery is true........

When will you understand that this has nothing to do with Fulani herdsmen. It's obvious that some interests are determined to chase out and kill villagers just to get at these mineral resources.

Logic states that whoever takes over the land did the killings. Whether it is a company , another group of people or even the government. Those INTEREST will become obvious at the end.

Hold the entire university board responsible....

Public funds will build the hostel with lots and lots of private donation....

University authorities will seek payment for accomodations from students and yet will not maintain the hostel....

Hold them accountable

You did not apply emotional intelligence at all.

Yes, you should have collected the bread.

Most African parents/ In laws et al might think you are disrespectful by rejecting their gift.

This is not the western world. You should have collected the bread no matter how local or little it looks. Cheers.

Fork and knife is never better than hands. Just eat neatly..

Some people will even use fork and knife for finger foods.

No one wants to account for any thing.

From the VC to the bursar to the Hostel Manager. Nobody wants to account for how much they have received and what it was used for.

The university Senate cannot justify their budget. Or even rightly defend it.

Mismanagement everywhere. That is not expense for a room, it is usually a bedspace

NOBODY wants to be accountable for the funds they receive.

How much do we pay for matriculation, acceptance fees, brochures fees, convocation fees, results fees and we get NOTHING in return and the university never ever accounts for the money.

We even pay cash for some fees that we never really know what the payment is for.

What is department dues user for? Hostel fees for buildings that were built decades ago with FGN funding?

Education / Re: FG Increases Unity Schools’ Fees From ₦45,000 To ₦100,000 by Origin(f): 4:45pm On Jul 21, 2023
All i know is everyone must pay the same fee. Not that different rates for different states or different cutoff for different universities. Yes let FG stop their funding too.
But all must provide detailed financial statements

Especially university: you will pay up to N50k cash that does not go to the TSA and which the university never accounts for.

They are all want more money but can never justify their expenses. Classrooms in dismal shape and libraries with no books. And always seeking external funding and donations when they never ever justify payroll and other basic expenses.

All governors, members of parliament and even the president collectively use several billions of naira worth of armoured and non armoured TOYOTA & LEXUS SUVs .

Yet we still do not have a Toyota assembly plant in Nigeria. Else support local brands innoson and peugeot

Family / Re: Why Do Marriage Of Uneducated Couples Last Longer Than The Educated Ones? by Origin(f): 11:04am On Jul 18, 2023
Abeg carry your myopic world view away from here. So many uneducated ladies with 2-3 prior marriages but you are using famous divorces to judge.

And in this archaic and myopic view you all believe that divorces are caused by women? That marriage successes are based on the efforts of the wife....

That Mr A will read and it is Mr B that will pass the exams? That as educated as you are you would base the success of a marriage on an uneducated woman. Or that you would choose an uneducated woman as the mother of your kids.

I love all women in whatever shapes they come and would hope that even if one falls for an uneducated woman one would do their utmost to make them educated.
