Politics / Re: Hear The Immortal Words Of Justice Niki Tobi JSC, In Buhari V. Yar'adua (2007) by orriyomi33(m): 9:54pm On Aug 20, 2023
"The way politics in this country is played frightens me every dawning day. It is a fight to finish affair. Nobody accepts defeat at the polls. The Judges must be the final bus stop. And when they come to the Judges and the Judges in their professional minds give judgment, they call them all sorts of names. To the party who wins the case, the Judiciary is the best place and real common hope of the common man. To the party who loses, the Judiciary is bad. Even when a party loses a case because of serious blunder of Counsel, it is the Judge who is blamed. Why? While I know as a matter of fact that in every case, the Judge makes an additional enemy, if I use the word unguardedly, I must say that the Judge does not regard the person as his enemy. The Judge who has given judgment in the light of the law, should not be castigated in the way it is done in this country. That is a primitive conduct and I condemn it. It is a conduct that does not help the promotion of the administration of justice. It is rather a conduct that is likely to affect adversely the administration of justice in this country. I feel very strongly that Nigerian Judges should be allowed to perform their judicial functions to the best of their ability. I should also say that no amount of bad name-calling will deter Nigerian Judges from performing their constitutional functions of deciding cases between two or more competing parties. Somebody must be trusted in doing the correct thing. Why not the Nigerian Judge?"

This quote above aptly describe the Nigerian people, when we are at advantage we praise the system but when we are not we shut down the system.

I was just laughing reading their comments on the BBC sport page.
They were blaming the coach for using walsh
Nomyth:
Wow.

For once, the Falcons have translated their dominance in African football to the world stage, you guys need to visit the BBC sport page to see how scared to death the English are.

With this, Nigeria should immediately stop the non chalance if always missing out in the Olympics.

Participation in the Olympics will further give the Falcons the much needed exposure.

Yes that's stupid from her.
Her loss, Our gain.
BronzeTiger:

That's a very stupid decision. Racial abuses would soon start, you don't do that at this stage of an important tournament. Well that's their problem we just have to take advantage.

Problem gambling is not having effects on Nigerians only it is a problem world over.
At some point the UK government was considering banning football clubs in the premier league and the other divisions from using betting companies as shirt sponsors.

This was the comment of one of the individuals calling for the ban on betting advertisement.

Pettigrew, who set up his own charity GamTalk to talk to children about gambling, also believes the number of adverts should be reduced.

"Football is the national sport and the adverts have been subconsciously ingrained into kids from a young age," he said. "They are bright and colourful and catch your eye.

"I'm a football fan as well and the last thing I want to see is any clubs going under, but there are plenty of other sponsors they could get.

"Clubs are already not allowed gambling sponsors on kids' shirts, which almost admits there is something wrong
andrew444:

I don’t think sport betting should be that hard and sending people to the trenches like it’s doing to most Nigerians

The problem with most Nigerians is that they gamble with their house rent ,feeding money and even school fees which is very bad ,sport gambling isn’t a job and yet some people take is as their source of income

You should only gamble with your spare money you can afford to loose ,and once you gamble have it at the back of your mind that the money is gone and stop hoping for a return grin

Hello good day everyone.

I just want to know if Victor Osimhen is fit for Napoli's champions league match.

Hi, @ TheSuperNerd
Any update on Osihmen's injury.
Will he be available for selection for Napoli's next champions league match?
TheSuperNerd:

That he is Ponferradina's finest is Undisputed. The real koko here is he is Statistically A Top 3 player in La Liga Smartbank (AKA La Liga 2) this season. Top 3 after 34 Matchdays according to 2 independent Stats sites!!! Top 3!!!! And "arguably" the best midfielder in the league going by both stats and eye test.

The lad has been madly consistent in his "ballings" this season in the middle. Crazy.

For every #10000, the government and Banks makes #76.88.

If 1 million people make a transfer of #10,000 daily, the government and Banks makes #76.88m

In 100 days they make #76.88 billion.

This is what the government charges when you make transfers from #10000.

Well done to the governor.
We need more developmental projects like this to aid the lives of the citizens.

BTW, I think CCECC construction at Ikeja overpass is better than the one STEP DEVELOPMENT is constructing at Oyingbo.

donproject2:
You're all shouting Obi forgetting the history. Babangida seemed to be the champion of human rights after he toppled Buhari. What made him this champion? Every Nigerian believed Buhari was a strict leader. Babangida leveraged on this fact, he won hearts of many Nigerians, the result of his governance was disastrous. In 2015, when almost all Nigerians were groaning about Jonathan's administration, Buhari came as the perfect one to take us to the next level, APC seized the opportunity of the chaotic atmosphere we had to present Buhari to us, we were all joyous, now what can you say about Buhari after 8 years.

There is one man that's playing to the gallery, winning hearts of many cheaply, he is our Mr. Perfect now, he has solution to all Nigeria's problems, he is God-sent. I feel empathy for a man who doesn't see the future looking at the past events, a man who doesn't take clue from historical happenings. It looks like we are in one endless cycle, history seems to repeat itself always.
