I'm glad we would be having the almighty VAR in the world cup qualifiers.
No panic for that as it would favour us like it did for our girls in the WAFCON finals.
We are most likely to get a penalty from VAR with Osimhen in the game

This two games will be the most watched games of the world cup qualifier.
Three teams hoping on the failure of the other to have a chance.

There has been massive protest in the last few days in Morocco over the government plan to co-host the 2030 world cup.
The young population are accusing the government of neglecting vital component like healthcare and education to focus on football.
Hope this won't affect the upcoming AFCON and subsequent one slated for Morocco.

I have gotten my own share of the loss in value of my capital on my US stock brokerage account that I was planning to purchase some stock but abandoned it. I deposited #287,000 on the 23rd of September, only to withdraw for an emergency yesterday @#276,000☹️ awesomeJ: At some point fear might set in and accelerate the gains.
I mean I still hold some dollars I bought at 1605 in May.
The only reason I'm still holding is that it's just $100 .
If it was $100k dollar, I would have started selling it off at 1550.
Cos at current price, the loss would have already reached 15m in 5 months.
When you add the fact that fixed income earnings for 5 months on N160m would have been another N13m.
The N28m loss becomes even more painful. |

"We pay 52% of revenue from our cement business as taxes to government "– Aliko Dangote The President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has said that the group’s cement company pays 52% of its taxes as revenue, with the government collecting 52 kobo from various taxes out of every N1 it turns around. This was made known by Dangote during a press briefing at Dangote Refinery, where he stated that the government collects more money than what the company shareholders take as dividends. Africa’s richest man also noted that the federal government collects 10% withholding tax from the dividends that shareholders are paid, leaving them with a balance of 90%. https://nairametrics.com/2025/09/16/we-pay-52-of-revenue-from-our-cement-business-as-taxes-to-government-aliko-dangote/

The Falcons have got confidence. Watching the falcons bring that feeling of winning. From the goalkeeper (Nnadozie) to defence (Plumptre) to the forwards (Okoronkwo- good set piece taker to Ijamilusi. I hope the Super Eagles can replicate this sometimes in the future. You said it all. From the body language of players, you know how desirous a team is. In the last WAFCON our girls were all over the Moroccan team even though they were at a disadvantage being two goals down from a hostile home team with fans advantage. They came with grit and conviction in the second half that eventually worked in their way, their positive mentality was what affected the Moroccans after they conceded the 1st goal which our girls capitalised on. Even if we had later go on to lose that match, I would be satisfied as a fan because we didn't go out without a fight. The only match I could remember the eagles had similar mentality as the girls was in AFCON 2019 round of 16 Vs Cameroon. Our Super Eagles are too jittery they are afraid of losing hence they play safe especially when it's a match they are expected to win. From the 4-4 draw vs Sierra Leone, to the 2022 world cup qualifier vs Ghana in Abuja to the 1-1 draw vs Zimbabwe and the current 1-1 draw with South Africa. I think we need a mentality change in the team. Mujtahida: The truth is that as a fan your level of hope is determined by the body language of the players. Do these players still believe that we can qualify?
I keenly followed Super Falcons in their quest for mission X. Even when they were trailing 2-0, I sat down because I could see that they themselves had the deep conviction that they could win.
In our last match, only Bassey played with that kind of spirit.
There's a difference between playing well and not giving up. |
