What? Could you tell what tribe they are from? Most people guess that I'm igbo because of my skin. How would you tell other tribes? |
My dad and I were talking about Naija and our people. I asked him if it's possible to tell where a black person is from based on their looks. He said yes. I then asked him if it's possible to decipher the tribe of a Nigerian based on their looks. Landers, do u believe that is possible? If so, what are the obvious features of our people and what are the not-so-obvious ones? |
Ella, Don't flatter yourself. When I see the list of topics in Nairaland, I wonder when we'll get over talking about ourselves. Most of the boards in the racist/sec board are about other Nigerian tribes. I co-sign with 4 Him though. I'm sorry if our criticism about your people hurts your feelings but your people had it coming. |
Rai most def! Angie is quite attractive though. Off topic but why is it that in the media, big lips are only ok on a white chick? |
Tattooboy- Why "damn"? |
I would personally have Almondjoy be my mother-in-law, Seun to be my uncle, and Hot-Angel to be my cousin. |
Sorry for the racist title, but it had to be said. What do think about China's interest in Africa, particularly Nigeria? I just read that China has awarded Naija with a 2.5 billion soft loan and has giving Angola 9 bn "with no strings attached". ![]() Na wa. With China's support of the Sudanese regime because of their hands in oil, I do not trust them. I don't trust anyone who will wave big money likes its a steak just to exploit its recipient. I hope my Nigerian umunne will not repeat its mistake with the oyibo and let these people come colonize our country or anyone else's in our continent. To naysayers, why would we let a country with a horrible track record to "befriend" us? Zebras don't change their stripes overnight. Look at what China has done to Tibet. Why do you think they will treat us any differently given time? China and Africa's fiscal alliance smells as bad as old egg fun yun to me. ![]() |
Non existance. Nigeria goes by the Book and its traditions. Its not a secular country. It has a secular minority, however, that minority will not be able to withstand the force of tradtionalists that would tear them apart if Nigeria changed the definintion of marriage. |
What do you lot think of arranged marriages? I'm personally quite disturbed by them and their popularity in Nigeria. |
Almondjoy, I like you. You are one of the most hilarious people on this site. If he doesn't want to wait for you, then maybe you to shouldn't be together. |
I didn't go anywhere! ![]() I still need insight on why you think the world promotes marriage. Keep the post coming. |
the marriage was arraigned for them or they made a choice to get married I want to know why. Why is marriage a nesscity? Why does society pressure people to do it? |
Don't do it. From what I read, I don't think the girl possess the maturity or the confidence to make a decision like that. Neither do you, orignal poster. If you dated and (after some time and interspection) decided you wanted to sleep together, then go for it. But a girl who wants to get laid then married immediatley doesn't sound like a sound person. |
When I got to college, every future plan I heard always included matrimony. With America topping lists of infidelity and divorce, I used to wonder why everyone was so determined to get married. Where they influenced by culture or their religion? Was their marriage or bust mentality due to socioeconomic factors? Or do this people believe in the age old adages of love and soulmates? I am an Igbo women. Growing up in alaigbo and America, I was taught that marriage is a vehicle that delivered love, financial security, and companionship. I want to know what to other Nigerians think about matriomony. My people, please tell me why we get married. |
