HealthRe: 10 List Of STD's And Symptoms We May Or May Not Know by Oshege(m): 5:42pm On Apr 17, 2016
DonEffiong:
List of STDs and Their Symptoms

The most common types of STDs in the world includes

chlamydia,

genital warts,

genital herpes,

gonorrhoea,

hepatitis B&C,

Syphilis

HIV.

Then there are also various other STD infections of the urinary tract and the genitals which can cause annoying symptoms but are easy to cure. The sooner your infection is diagnosed, the better are your chances of
getting it treated and cured.

1. Chlamydia

Chlamydia is the most common STD in the world It is also easily curable - chlamydia treatment usually consists of a single dose antibiotic. About 50% of men and 70% of women don’t have any symptoms for years (if at all). When symptoms appear, people often suffer from abnormal vaginal discharge and vaginal bleeding, discharge from the tip of the penis and pain when peeing or during sex.
When left untreated, chlamydia can lead to infertility in women and men. When you’re infected with chlamydia, other STDs may also be present.

2. Gonorrhoea

Gonorrhoea is often caught alongside chlamydia. About 1 in 3 women infected with gonorrhoea also has chlamydia. The bacteria that cause gonorrhoea need to be inside the human body to survive. For this reason, you can only catch it through sexual activity (and not through contact with objects/swimming etc).
The symptoms of gonorrhoea include the same irregular discharge as the one caused by chlamydia (from the vagina or penis). As with chlamydia,
many infected patients won’t develop any symptoms even though the infection can cause damage to women’s reproductive system in the long run. Men, however, sometimes suffer from infections of the urinary tract and associated symptoms when infected with chlamydia: painful urination and discharge from the penis. If untreated, the bacteria can spread to the
rest of the body, often infecting the skin or muscle joints. Gonorrhea treatment normally involves a course of the antibiotic cefixime.

3. Genital Herpes

Over 80% of people who are infected with genital herpes, don’t know they have the virus. Most of them will never find out - it’s quite common for patients to live a lifetime without knowing about their infection or suffering from any symptoms. However, they can pass the virus to another partner who can then develop symptoms. Asymptomatic patients tend not to use protection (condoms) every time they have sex, unlike patients who know they have herpes. Genital herpes is caused by the herpes simplex virus. The symptoms are
soreness of the infected area and/or painful blisters around the genitals. Most people are able to recognise recurrent episodes due to the itching and tingling sensation in the genitals that they feel a few hours
before the blisters appear. This is the best time to start an antiviral treatment , right before the virus starts producing genital herpes blisters. In general, the first herpes outbreak is the most severe one and lasts much longer than any episode that follows – up to 2-3 weeks. Over time, outbreaks of genital herpes tend to get milder.

4. Genital Warts

Genital warts (also known as anogenital warts) are located in or around the anus and genital area. They’re caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV) which often doesn’t cause any symptoms at all, and sometimes shows only years after infection. Genital warts appear as little bumps that sometime form clusters with a
cauliflower shape. Since they come in different sizes treatment ranges from antiviral creams (e.g. Warticon ) to surgery (e.g. laser, cryosurgery). While they are not dangerous, they are easily transmitted and require
immediate treatment. As far as symptoms go, genital warts are sometimes itchy and in rare cases they can be painful. Women can suffer from irregular vaginal bleeding or discharge.

5. Syphilis

Syphilis is one of the oldest infections on this list of STDs. While, nowadays, syphilis is fairly easy to treat with antibiotics, if left untreated the infection can cause severe symptoms (e.g. contagious ulcers on the genitals, anus and mouth; then infection of the brain, eyes or ears) and is potentially life-threatening. In the early stages, like many types of STDs, the symptoms of syphilis are hard to recognise and it can take several months before they appear. However, as soon as the bacteria enter your body, the illness progresses – in three stages – with the symptoms getting worse at each stage..

6. Hepatitis B

As for hepatitis B, it is a virus that attacks the liver (like hepatitis C) and is passed through sexual contact and blood (e.g. via needles). The symptoms of hepatitis B start with a short acute infection to which everyone responds differently: a few will develop chronic hepatitis B and others will develop liver severe dysfunction. The majority of people actually develop their own antibodies against the virus and are protected from further infections. Yet, 5 in 100 people who are infected will suffer from serious consequences from the virus.
Note that hepatitis A and C can also be passed on through sexual activity but it remains quite rare, so we won’t include them in this list of STDs. If you have had unprotected sex you may need to go to a GUM clinic and get tested for hepatitis.

7. HIV – Human Immunodeficiency Virus

Finally, HIV is the last item on this list of the different STD infections. It is caused by a virus that attacks your immune system. Basically you don’t die from HIV, but from any benign infection that your body can’t cope with. This is the final stage where HIV results in your body to suffer from AIDS – the Acquired Immunodeficiency Symptom (i.e. your immune system is down). Like Hepatitis B, HIV can be transmitted through blood exchange (for example sharing needles) or sex. It can also be transmitted to the new- born by a pregnant woman. And like Hepatitis B and other types of STDs, the first symptoms are difficult to recognise as they can feel like the flu (with muscle pain, sore throat), sometimes in combination with vomiting and diarrhoea.
This fever tends to develop within 2-4 weeks after the virus has entered the body, but it can sometimes take several months. Most patients will only suffer from AIDS about 10 years later as they start losing weight and suffer from uncommon infections and cancers. There is no cure or vaccine for HIV at the moment, but early treatment considerably slows down the spread of the virus in infected patients. There are over 8,000 HIV-positive people in the UK, and an estimated 30% of them are not aware of their condition.

List of STDs & Symptoms - Other infections

There are many infections that are often misunderstood as STDs, such as urethritis, which is simply an infection of the urethra (part of the urinary tract).

8. Crabs

Pubic lice (crabs) is another example, which is neither an infection nor a disease but just tiny bugs (lice) that settle in your pubic hair to lay their eggs and reproduce. They are transmitted during intimate contact between two pubic areas. Many people don’t have any symptoms, but some do suffer from itchy genitals and inflammation. You can only get rid of them with special treatment for lice (shampoos, lotions & creams).

9. Trichomoniasis (Trich)

Trichomonas is a germ causing a benign infection known as trichomoniasis. It’s a treatable infection which is cured with a simple course of antibiotics. The symptoms it causes are common STD symptoms, namely an abnormal discharge from the genitals and pain when urinating or when having sex.
Not Strictly STDs…
There is also a whole range of infections that are sometimes considered to be STDs, but they are not strictly speaking STDs. Although they are sometimes transmitted during sex they may be genital infections that are aggravated by sexual activity.

10. These STD infections are easily curable and include:
Bacterial vaginosis (smelly discharge) in women;
Water warts caused by a virus which leads to liquid-filled warts around the genitals. These warts are relatively contagious and can be transmitted by skin contact and exchanging towels and clothes; Chancroid, caused by a bacteria and results in bump-like warts that
turn into painful ulcers. The symptoms are very similar to genital warts. The advantage of broad spectrum antibiotics such as azithromycin is that while they’re specifically prescribed for certain types of STDs (e.g.
chlamydia), they can also be used to treat other STD-related infections (e.g. chancroid). By getting tested and treated, you can sometimes cure many types of STDs at the same time.

RomanceWhen I Visited My Girlfriend, See What Happened by Oshege(op):
Let go straight to the point :

Have been anticipating to visit this my girlfriend in her school but luckily for me she actually called me asking me to pay her visit because she was bored.

I was so excited to the fact that i promised her i will come in the next day, she asked me to buy something for her although i have condom in mind (smiles). I started having fantasies about the fun am going to catch, the kissing, romance and the Good sex am going to enjoy, i was laughing and smiling through out day she called me.

I called my friend about the unusual behavior of the girl asking me to come over to play with her which she has been declining anytime i demanded that. He told me that the babe wanted sex, he advised me to get some condoms with me.

It was my first time to buy a condom myself, I was a shy guy tho, I have to go miles that night just because I want to buy a condom because of shyness. Infact, before I entered the pharmacy shop, i wandered around for a while.

It was around 8am in the morning ,i already taken my birth, dressed, i tried her phone number to inform her am on my way but her line was switched off, i was highly disappointed and dishearted because i didn't expect such thing. I started having different thoughts and emotional constraints concerning this. I thought it was a joke until i tried her number for 6hours but currently switch off, I never try number like that in my life. I gave up and quickly undressed.

She called me in the next day apologizing for her phone being switched off due to power outage in her area and asked probably am still coming . I was relieved and i told her am coming.
As usual, i got dressed and took to the garage, when i got there the bus already got filled with passengers and moved away in my front, i was destabilized and begins to suspect something misfortune. I had to wait for completely 4hours before another bus get filled.

I actually got to her place safely, and i called her to pick me up. She came ( looking very beautiful with the makeup ) and she took me to her room, it was a nice room tho,

I sat on the bed, very soft and sexy, i started having sexual hallucinations but i noticed a Bible openly placed at the corner of the bed, It seems she just read the Bible, i started suspecting something. The most craziest thing i noticed was that she wore up to three singlets and four underwears including panties and tights, i noticed that because it was very conspicuous. I began to think probably she prepared and ready to fight me against any sexual harassments.
I became gentle and not really cheerful, she asked me of what i buy for her, i brought her the slice bread and some indomies and spags. She appreciated it and give me a hug, i tried to kiss her during the process of hugging but she snobbed and avoided me (i don die).

She took my phone and started viewing my pictures and videos tho interesting but am not convenient. After a while, everything start getting bore and nothing More, she suggested we go outside for a while, i rejected, i told her we should play, she asked, which kind play?. .. I look and then laugh cant say anything.

I started thinking, am i gonna waste this condoms? .. I quickly moved to her, kissing her, she rejected, started laughing and ran out. Later she came in with food , i couldn't eat because am already in the mood, she noticed my erected joystick at the conner of my trouser tho i tried to protect it by placing the head up but all to no avail. She moved away and i stay behind.

I am already regretting for coming over to her place. I was not happy at all coz i felt ignored. After 3hours, somebody knocked the door and opened it immediately, the lady looked at me and her and greeted us. She introduced me to her as a friend (i was bad)..
I was so surprised when she came to my direction and sat with her friend discussing. I couldn't take it because i thought she will leave very soon, my girl even offered her food. By this time, I regretted it already.

Not quite long, two of her fellowship members came to visit her asking why she was nt at the previous fellowship. Those two spent up to an hour. She told me she want to see them off and i say ok.

After she had gone, i packed my bag, wear my shoe and my wristwatch and my glasses and i took to my heel.

I deleted her number immediately and i vow not to call her again. I no fi cry oo

She called countless times probably to apologize But i no dey pick am.
BusinessRe: Free Flow Of Yuan In Nigerian Banks - What You Need To Know by Oshege(m): 11:57am On Apr 14, 2016
maxxy:
The news that Nigeria has signed a currency deal with China allowing the free flow of the Chinese Yuan amongst Nigerian banks (https://www.thecable.ng/nigeria-china-sign-deal-on-free-flow-of-Yuan) is arguably one of the best (or worst?) policies so far of the Buhari Administration.

Banks would now be able to settle payments directly from Naira to Yuan, rather than from Naira to black market Dollar and then to Yuan. In fact, an extension of this is that debit and credit cards can now be issued and denominated in Yuan. A sizeable portion of the local Dollar demand is thus eliminated, reducing the pressure on our Dollar reserves.

To boost our Yuan liquidity, the Chinese loans being negotiated by the Federal Govt may be availed partly or wholly in Yuan. This will greatly boost Nigeria’s Central Bank and commercial banks’ Yuan liquidity. In fact, the Nigerian and Chinese Govts are reported to have entered into a framework arrangement for currency swaps as a means of providing the much needed liquidity.

At current rates of 30.74 Naira to the Yuan, and 6.74RMB (Yuan) to the Dollar, Nigeria would be able to fund its importation at the equivalent of the current official rate of N199/$1.

PROS

This policy will lead to a reduced demand for Dollars and easing off of pressure on our Dollar reserves, as a large portion of Nigeria’s import needs are served by China (China is Nigeria’s largest trading partner – http://www.premiumtimesng.com/business/business-interviews/188666-china-tops-u-s-as-nigerias-biggest-trade-partner.html). Deals such as Dangote’s purchase of 3400 trucks (http://venturesafrica.com/dangote-group-signs-deal-for-3400-trucks-supply/) will henceforth be settled in Yuan rather than scarce Dollar reserves, which would then be sufficient to service other legitimate investor demands such as portfolio investments, capital repatriation, etc.

This policy also implies cheaper imports from China as importers from China would import at the equivalent of the current official rate of N199/$1 as against the current parallel market rate of N320/$1.

CONS

This policy may keep Nigeria as an importation-dependent economy. Due to its deliberate policies towards boosting its economics of scale, China produces most goods at a comparative advantage. While we have decried the importation of toothpicks and the likes from China, we must bear in mind that we import toothpicks not because we do not have bamboo and other raw materials in Nigeria, but because China is able to bring these goods to the Nigerian market at a much cheaper price than the one produced right here in Nigeria. The reasons are not far-fetched; the availability of infrastructure, cheap labour and use of manufacturing clusters. This policy would therefore sound a death-knell to the resurgent local production of importation substitutes.

Again, this policy would only bear the projected fruits if and only if the Nigerian factor doesn’t come into play. As demand for Yuan surges, a parallel market for Yuan may soon be created, bringing us back to this same point many years after.

WHITHER NIGERIA?

This policy should not be viewed as a solution to Nigeria’s Dollar dependency as we may otherwise inadvertently create a Yuan dependency. At the very best, this policy should be a stop-gap, a short-term measure devised to keep things in place while we sort out our infrastructural and policy challenges. The future prosperity of Nigeria lies in production for local consumption and export, and not the consumption of foreign imports.

FamilyWoman Catches Her Husband Red-handed On Top Of Her Friend. by Oshege(op): 7:58am On Mar 30, 2016
A distraught woman has narrated the shocking betrayal she suffered in the hands of her husband after she caught them red-handed in a hotel room.

Mrs Balikis Adesola engaged the husband in a heated argument at the Agboyi/Ketu Customary Court after she alleged that she caught her husband red-handed with her friend in a hotel. The husband told the court that his wife and her friend set him up.
According to TheAuthority, the husband, Mr Adewale Adesola, had earlier brought a petition to the court to dissolve their five-year old marriage which is blessed with two children on the grounds of threat to life, lack of submission, lack of love and care and laziness.
Mr Adesola said that the love between them has been marred with too much drama and that he is tired of her constant harassment and lack of submission.
Mr Adesola said, “the annoying aspect of the relationship between us is that, every time we quarrel, she makes it a point of duty to destroy our property and inflict injuries on me. She doesn’t cook or fetch water and she is always too quarrelsome. She doesn’t respect my family members including my mother. On one occasion, my wife even locked me in the cell during one of our quarrels. We fought and the next morning, she went straight to the police station and I was arrested. I slept in the cell that night. This action of hers is the last I can take; I will no longer stay married to her. I will take care of my children but I have nothing to do with her.”
The president of the court, O.T Williams then asked the wife, Mrs Balikis to react to her husband’s allegation.
She heaved a heavy sigh and said, “The reason my husband wants to dissolve the marriage is not because of our fights, but because I caught him red-handed in a hotel with my childhood friend.
“My childhood friend stays very close to us and because we have a satellite dish, she comes sometimes to watch Yoruba movies and because we have been friends for a long time, she became close to my husband. One day, she came to me and told me that my husband always calls her unnecessarily and it has become very worrisome adding that she decided that it’s better she told me so that it won’t look like she’s condoning his behaviour. Then, one day, my husband sent her a text message that she should meet her at a certain hotel and she quickly came to me and showed me the text message; it was so unbelievable.”
At that point, the husband, Mr Adetola quickly interrupted saying that the wife and her friend set him up which caused an argument between him and the wife, as both of them accused each other of lying. The president warned him and told him to wait until the wife finished her own narration noting that if he had anything to say, the court would offer him the opportunity.

The wife then continued: “After I saw the message, I then decided that my friend should go and keep me updated so I could meet them at the hotel just to catch him red-handed. So, she called my husband and they arranged. On the day she was to visit, she told me and I stayed around the area. As soon as she got into the room, she quickly sent me the room number and I went to the hotel and entered the room.
Pretending that they asked me to get them food, the receptionist gave me permission and I went in. I knocked and he opened the door and he was very surprised to see me. We started fighting there in the hotel until the hotel management chased us out and he started claiming that he was set up. That was the genesis of all our problems. He said I don’t take care of him, but he is lying, he is a barber and the shop he uses was given to him by my brother before he travelled abroad. He only gives me N500 to cook but I augment it with my own money and sometimes, my mother assists me a lot in taking care of my children.
Meanwhile, his own mother will never assist us or even appreciate what I do for her son. She rather fights me and finds every wrong thing about me. Anytime I have a quarrel with my husband, she would come to the house and tell me to go and spend three months in my mother’s house. If I don’t go, she would disturb me until I go to my mother’s house. Instead of my husband to caution his mother, he will even encourage her to do whatever she likes to me. About destruction of property and inflicting injury on him, my husband is lying. Whenever a property is destroyed, it’s as a result of our fight. So, he can’t blame it on me.”
The court then asked the husband to react to his wife’s allegation of catching him red-handed with her friend.
He still insisted it was a set up saying, “It is her friend that keeps calling me and she comes to the house and watch Yoruba movies until very late in the night. She will be giving me ‘some moves.’ Then one day, she told me that we should meet at a certain hotel and I was wondering why she would ask me to come see her in a hotel. So, I asked some of my friends of their opinion and they told me to go and see what she wanted. When I got to the hotel, I saw her downstairs and she came to me and said we should go up in a room as downstairs is so open and anybody could see us. It wasn’t up to five minutes that we got up to the room that my wife knocked on the door. As soon as I saw her, I just knew that they both set me up and that was how it happened.”
The president of the court said that, he could see that both of them were not prepared for marriage before they got into it. “They did not seek wisdom before they embarked on the journey,” he stated. He told them that they really need to think about the marriage and put into cognizance the two children they have. He said they should think back how they loved each other when they met and see whether that love can come to life even if it’s a little before the next adjournment.
The president adjourned the case till April 5, 2015 and reminded the couple that the customary court is not only meant for dissolution but also serves as a platform to resolve marriage crisis.

EducationUNILAG Students Arrested For Attempting To Resurrect Colleague..see Pictures by Oshege(op): 12:08pm On Mar 29, 2016
Four students of the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos, have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for attempting to resurrect the corpse of a 300-level student of Microbiology, Eniola Jacob .

The suspects are Inerima Alaniye (a 400-level student of Mathematics); Awe Raphael (a 500-level student of Law); Adeboye Adeshola (a 200-level student of Political Science); and Arawomo Stephen.
It was reported that Jacob allegedly took an insecticide, Sniper, last Saturday on the campus.

He was said to have been rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, where he died on Sunday.

it was also reported that students who attempted to resurrect his corpse were leaders of the Cherubim and Seraphim Students Fellowship on the campus.

Jacob was said to have been a strong member of the fellowship before his death.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the students’ behaviour and actions at Jacob’s grave were suspicious, adding that they had been transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Eleweran.

The police spokesperson said during Jacob’s burial, the four students suddenly emerged and asked that the corpse be exhumed.

He said, “They were arrested at the graveside. They were arrested because their actions were suspicious. They insisted on exhuming the corpse that had been buried. They said they wanted to resurrect it. It came to us as a surprise that in this modern age, some group of young boys would come out and say they want to resurrect a dead man.

“We felt it was a strange development. If they were not cultists they would not make such a demand. We thought they were looking for parts of the deceased to tamper with and we took them to Eleweran for further investigations.”

The Public Relations Officer of the University of Lagos, Mr. Toyin Adebule, said he could not confirm the arrest of the students.

He, however, confirmed that Jacob took Sniper on the school premises.

He said the police had taken over the case and a corona inquest had begun.

He said, “This is a corona case and the school is not involved. It has nothing to do with the university. What happened was that he (Jacob) took Sniper and after taking it, the security was informed. He was initially talking, but suddenly he collapsed.

“He was rushed to the school’s health centre where he was resuscitated. Around 7pm, he was rushed to LUTH where he died some hours later. There is no indictment. I am not aware that some students of the school have been arrested.”

LiteratureThe Joy Of A Rapist by Oshege(op): 2:47pm On Mar 28, 2016
As the lonely girl passes the street
With her blatant curves bawling around
Like the timing bell of Catholic carcass
Her reflected balls under the white shinning shirt
Dropping out like the grooved air-balloon

Crackles, knitting and slipping
As I dazzled silently to cross the street
Like a famished cat hunting the chicks
To fetched myself a Hot relief
I quietly grabbed her sideway slough
Her audible voice faded all half way

As we wrestled under the field
Her grievous shout appeases my heart
Roughly, I suck the two ripen oranges
Grown on the sexy chocolate tree
And cast them into the net of my hands
Shaggily, I unveil the mat beneath her dress
Trying to flourish the land with milk and honey

As we battled under the field
Her hollow mourns pleasured my ears
Painfully, I creep inside the tight hole beneath the hut
Hardly, I dash out the hut
Leaving the hut in a hot hurled hell

I am a rapist!
The one whose hearts appease with pain
The one whose ears pleasured with wailing
The disgust angel under the canopy of hell

Hey, sexy lady!
Will you dare to stroll out with your skimpy dress?
And exposed your flashing balls?
You can try to burst out your chubby chest
And walks lusciously across the street
My reserved cain already at the roadside
For my Hot horn is ready to hunt YOU.

RomanceIn My First Lonely Night. .(ladies, Pls, Read) by Oshege(op): 2:40pm On Mar 28, 2016
IN MY FIRST LONELY NIGHT

In my first lonely night
I patterned on the floor
Like a reckless snail
Wanting to crouch

In my first lonely night
He kidnapped my oily hair
And peep towards my innocent lips
In the dark; we sip, tip and clip
And my orgy breathe got freezed
Like a preserved fish

In my first lonely night
the moon hold us so tight
As he advanced towards my blushing skirt
He wind away my callous thighs
But I yell in fears

In my first lonely night
My 'white' got arrested
And he brought an erect pen
He wrote on my fleshy paper
I quenched in hizzard pain
For my fleshy paper is fresh
The pen writes side by side
Leaving me in hot red ink

In my first lonely night
He ate my humble pie
And bid farewell to our rumble lie

In my first lonely night
I crucified my bestowned dignity
on the cross of a luscious bed
And left with a devoured land
To harvest a seed of no return

HAAAAA!!!!
where is my bride?
my bride had been bind
tasted a sour grape, i have
my jaw in a gnashing hell.

TO MY CRUSH

Yes, you are my crush
You with glossy and cozy eyes
Like a gold refined from ugly tosh
Your painted smiles freezes me like a winter ice
And the melodies in your voice bang like a fest
Let me feel that your soft- pressing hands
And cast them to calm the pinnacle of my chest
For the apple in my chest still hits and pounds

Yes, you are my crush
The one I crush even in state of trance
That pretty face that always glare and never blush
Will one day, wink my heart a blink of chance
The chance to wine and dine in the table of your heart
The chance to kiss the farcy farce on your fancy lips
The chance to plug and hug you in dark and light
The chance to expose the nudeness of my mind
The chance to inhabit your love that creeps
And the chance to steal your heart so kind.

Christianity EtcWhy Religion Sanctity Failed The Test Of Time by Oshege(op): 7:43pm On Mar 18, 2016
RELIGION: A MORTIVATION AND A TOOL FOR WAR

The emergence of religion has exhanced adequate efforts in propagading unionism, most expecially in a homogenous society , but the fact remains that religion has always been a justification for war.
Etimologically, according to the philologist Max Müller in the 19th century, the root of the English word " religion", the Latin religio, was originally used to mean only "reverence for God or the gods, careful pondering of divine things, piety" (which Cicero further derived to mean
"diligence"wink. Also, religion can be traced from the Greek word "religare" which means " to tie" and "binding together". From these lines so far, it can be draw that the pimary function of religion is to create cohesion and collective involvement.

How religion is motivation for war
I would argue that most causes of war right from time immemorial is as a result of religion. There are numerous examples of religious wars. Some of the main ones include the Crusades, Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan, The War On Terror, The Thirty Year War, Northern Ireland and the numerous religious wars of England and France (which culminated in the Saint Bartholomew Day Massacre). Many wars has been fought in some African countries which act under the canopy of religion.
Religion as generally regarded by judaism, christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Budhism, atheist religion and Asian religions maintain that religion is a force of peace. But a closer scrutining and a critical assesment of the impact of religion will give the impression that religion is also a mortivation for war. According to a well known sociologist, Emile Durkheim, he assert in one of his book 'ELementary forms of religious life", where he defined religion to be 'a unifield system of beliefs and practices relative to sacred things'. He asserted that religion create a collective efferverscence and social solidarity, although is proposition might be right but it is not the case that religion brings collectivity in all cases, infact religion divide people mostly in a heterogenous society .An objection to Emile Durkheim assertion will be the fact that religion propagates war, using Nigeria as a case study, there are three main religion in Nigeria namely Christianity, Islam and traditional religion, despite the fact that all these religion preach peace , there can't be a solid and mutual understanding concerning each others religious tenets as regard to there egocentric appeal to their Faith. Many incidents had happened in Nigeria politics been influenced by religion.
In Nigeria, in order to maintain religious tolerance there was a provision of posts and offices occupied by an interested citizens rising from different religious affiliations. But nevertheless, anytime the office ocvupant decide to embark on a project, there can be clamouring from other religion parties by not welcoming the new ideology, and if care is not taking this can lead to sudden war.
It is believed that religion tends to survive in a homogeneous society with just one national religion because there will be a mutual utility and deep seated understanding between the whole members of the community unlike a society with three or four religions recongnized by the state government which is prone to violence and riots. whenever these numerous religion come to together , they can never achieve a common goal based on faith because of there different perspective in religious beliefs.

According to a renowned philosopher Karl Marx, he asserted that "

"Religious suffering is, at the same time, the expression of real suffering and a protest against real suffering. Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people . —  Karl Marx.
This definition is rich in crtical assesment, religion which ought to be a channel for promotion of peace, tolerance, understanding and cooperation is now a weapon to fight
