EducationMust Religion And Education Be Mixed?? by Oshege(op): 8:23pm On Jul 27, 2016
MUST RELIGION AND EDUCATION BE MIXEDhuh

This article is based on personal examinations and critical assessments. It postulate and oversees the implications derived from the conjugation of religion and education.

*********** Caution ********

This article mean no harm to any religious affiliations nor denegrate and crucify any religious beliefs but rather based on a critical thinking and assessment. In other words, an objective analysis of this issue.......

***************************

It is evident that religion has been with man for almost so many years. In this vein, man has constantly involved in the practice of various religious traditions. Religion itself has played an important role in the society and has able to provide answer to some ultimate questions.

However, people tends to misunderstand education from schooling. There are much difference between Education and schooling.

Education is the process of inviting truth and possibility. It can be defined as the wise, hopeful and respectful cultivation of learning. In this context, the critical assessments of this article will be carried in a lay man sense. In other words, Education will be used in a loose sense and interchangeably with schooling. The background of education in Nigeria is no doubt a product of religion. In 1842, Christianity came to Nigeria and education was established primarily to propagate the religion. Schools and different centers were established solely for the aim of ensuring religion propagation.
It must however be noted that Nigeria is a heterogeneous society composed of diverse ethnic groups and tribe with different religions, there is a change and dynamic character in religious beliefs and views of these various religious practitioners. In Nigeria, there are three main religious traditions which includes Christianity, Islam and African Indigenous Religion. These three principal religion varies in their dogmas, creed, beliefs and conceptions. They all accept an egocentric appellation of their faith.

DISCUSSION

The fundamental inconsistency is that education is a liberal enterprise, and religion is a conservative one. They simply don't go together. Religion bring people of the same faith and belief together and create a kind of collective effervescence and consciousness among themselves. They tends to understand one another and tolerate themselves because of unison in religion belief. While Education brings people of diverse group and tribes, and of different religion belief under one roof for the purpose of learning.

A critical look will give the impression that the way educaion operate is delicate and thoughtful which must not be handled with carelessness and trifling. The fact that Nigeria is a multi religious society must not be over emphasize and the truth remain that despite the preaching of religious tolerance and understanding, there cannot be any mutual agreement and consolidation between these different religion because each religion is subjective to its own faith and they treat their religion to be above and real than others .

African Religion is real to its practitioners , Islamic religion is real to its adherents and Christianity is real to its adherents. So, therefore the issue of tolerance can be problematic.

In other to ensure tolerance, one will prescribed equal distribution of rights and freedoms across all religious affiliations but the fact remains that there should be a limited right and privileges religion can enjoy. Education and religion seems to succeed and prevail only in a mono religious society, not a multi religious society like Nigeria because there is always a problem. The following are the possible outcomes:

1. In the school, there are set of rules and regulations set aside to govern the day to day activities of the students. These set of codes is set mainly to amend the exponential spread of moral decadence among students these rules involves wearing compulsory school uniforms, sandals, socks , assembly and coming before time due e.t.c. these rules are secular laws which must be abide by all students no matter religious affiliations. However, incident such as wearing religious emblems such as hijabs, Barrets, garment has now become the other of the day. I strongly believe that the school authority is capable of setting the dress code for the students to ensure uniformity among students. When this is done there should be no disruption in the dressing code of the students. If the Muslims wear their hijabs on the school uniform and the Christians wear their robes on the school uniform ,the African traditionalist can also put on their costumes and when this is done a school has turn to any object of ridicule and disgrace

2. It has create segregation and hostility among religion beliefs. Today, the number of schools owned by churches today is alarming and appalling . The church has ignored the sacred evangelical ministries but obsessively establishing exorbitant schools because of financial aggression which can be found in any nook and cranny of any state. There are also Islamic schools where Admission is strictly for Muslims. This act has create segregation and depredation amongst religious beliefs.

3. Fear and Conflict : A similar incident can recounted from the incident that happened in university of Ibadan where a Christian lady Miss Seun Olubunmi Adegunsoye, a 400l law student was mob for propagating and preaching her religion in mosque vicitnity. The most funniest thing was the school activities was disrupted by the Muslims brothers for failure to expel this student by the school management.

Another sensitive issue like this can be as well traced to Obafemi Awolowo University, when a statement of caution was published and pasted in all Hall of residences on campus, the release directly cautioning the Christian students to refrain from wearing Islamic attires such as hijabs, jalamia, e.tc on the campus . This release has generated intense argument and hot tensions amidst students because of the threats in the release. The intellectual mind and rationality of Great Ife Students must be commended as they treated the issue with care and mindfulness if not, a libel and prosecution might become the order of the day.. However, this was able to ensued among students because of diverse religious beliefs .

Conclusively, religion and education can only survived in a homogeneous society where One religious ideas is shared. The need to be objective must be not be disflowered and one need to call the spade by its natural outlook.

MY PROBLEM WITH THE NIGERIAN CHURCHES

I have come to realized that Christianity in Nigeria is no longer in line with the biblical contemplations, designs and structural arrangement of divinity. Although I cannot speak in tongues but God understands my language. Whoever that have read MURDER IN THE CATHEDRAL or the story of the “Whiskey Priest” would know that generally, Christianity has shifted from its commonplace. Christianity in Nigeria is now a perfect, suitable and an appropriate synonym for exploitation, enslavement and impoverishment. Critical reasoning and rationality has been displaced from the church. Hypocrisy, materialism and bags of “cowries’’ are now being celebrated on the altar.

The primacy of the Gospel has been left for Jesus. Our Pastors, Bishops, Reverend Fathers, General Overseers are only interested in building churches that would cover millions of hectares of land; where large numbers of people would come and pay tithes and offering, sitting in air -conditioned office, driving expensive cars, buying private jets, commercialization of the scripture and exploiting members of their church in the guise of working for God, giving unto the Lord and preparing a good place for one’s self in heaven. If I may ask, who is fooling who? Even in one of the narratives in the bible, we were made to understand that Jesus rode a “brand new” horse to Jerusalem but that horse was later returned back to the owner.
That horse is a metaphor for the modern day jet. Why owning a private jet? Jesus during his time did not own a private horse. As if that was not enough, most of the lands in Lagos State and some States in Nigeria have been used for religious camps. Very soon, there won’t be any land left for establishment of industries or companies that will solve the unemployment crisis in the country. Ninety nine percent of those that go to church in Nigeria are unemployed and they are cheaply candidates of poverty. Why can’t they use the money they are using in erecting outrageous church edifices in establishing companies or industries so as to get members of their church engaged?

At least, Jesus concerned himself with the task of feeding people during his time. One can still remember how he fed thousands of people with five loaves of bread and two fishes. Instead for our church clerics to emulate this, they are only interested in eating the five loaves of bread and two fishes alone. In fact, they have more than five loaves of bread and two fishes but they cannot go to the streets and feed the needy so as to win their souls for Christ but they can force the needy who are members of their church through their manipulative prowess in paying tithes and offering so that they can buy a private jet.

More surprising and saddening, is the struggle to own private universities which is now the major concentration of Nigerian pastors because of the huge amount of money they will make from it. It pains me to my bone marrow because of the unexpected and unscrupulous commercialization of Christianity. The most expensive private universities in Nigeria are the one that belong to the church. Even members of that church cannot afford the tuition fee and they end up looking for admission or in a federal or state university. The ironic import of this situation is that all these private universities that belong to the church were built through their members tithes and offerings and their members cannot go to these universities because they are too expensive. It is high time common sense and sanity was restored in the church!

This op don kill me with laugh.....nice one bro

Mine was very embrassing

Have been craving for sex for a very long time though am a virgin. There was this girl i love very much..I bought her lot of gifts anytime i visited her ,i tried to caution myself not to try any sexual advancement with her because i always prove myself to be responsible to her.
I could remember one of the time i visited her, this time marked the day my sexual orientation begun. I bought her captain cook take away(friedrice and chicken), she was so impressed, na that day i know say some girls dey love food like die. She ate and appreciate it, latter i noticed she was moving her mouth towards my lips because we actually sat like say we dey we dey for interview. I dont really get the signal, am so dull and inexperienced.
After several trials, she realized that am so dull and shy, she kiss me on the lips, i feel on top of the world. I don't even know when i said 'please, do that again'. She did and we start the kissing. I dont even know how to kiss because the girl dey complain say y i just dey drop saliva anyhow but i tried sha grin...

I went home with a joyful heart, i cant think anything straight again without a recap of the scenerio, infact, the korean movie i watch that same night was so romantic to the fact that any time a love scene happened like kissing and romance(na me and the girl i dey always see for the movie grin grin)

The next day, i went straight to her place and prepared for sex. After watching some funny videos for 1 hours with her na so we start the kissing...this time around i don sabi kiss o though i don stream some crazy youtube video about kissing before that time.

The girl can't control it anymore ..my kondo self don rise like nepa poll. My lips don dey pain me coz the girl dey suck and eat am.

I was suprised and amazed when this girl zip down her shirt and i saw light bare breast that stand . I was so confused, i just dey look at the breast for like 1minutes, i no do anything. The girl bent my head down and i dey suck am..
I dey on top the girl .i cant control my self ..i just dey try Bleep the girl even with her skirt on and with my dick inside my jean.
I was behaving like a bull dog..i slide my dick for just 40secs inside jeans, i just dey shout when i dey cum. The girl dey afraid ..
Before i knew it, i don cum inside my boxer and i don wet the girl skirt badly as in e b like say na tap water dey inside my testicles.

I really felt embarassed..
