Fubara, a civil servant, should have not accepted to be governor if he knew he wasn't going to play ball or stick to the agreement he signed. We weren't there when they were signing the so called agreement.
I read that Wike had to convince two strong politician from Rivers state to step down for Fubara, and they all campaigned for Fubara only for him to turn around and cut them off.

He negotiated with a lot of people to step down for Fubara to emerge. That is how politics is played everywhere in the world. He must have made them offers. Some monetary, some Commisioner nomminee, Some local government nominations. It is not only Wike that is fighting Fubara. All the political machinery from Wike’s political family that was deployed to make him emerge are the ones fighting fubara. You can’t emerge and cut them off overnight! That is the worst form of betrayal

Now that the National Assembly hurdle is out of the way. What happens after 6 months? I think the contenders should just divide the Governance structure in Rivers by 50:50 or by any other percentage that may be agreed by the parties. Commissioners, Local governments and other appointments. This is not a fight between just Wike and Fubara. Wike has a team of on the ground soldiers in his political family across all local governments that fought/worked for the emergence of Fubara as a part of the family. Promises, negotiations and agreements were reached with some of them to step down and get their buy in to the candidacy of Fubara. That is how politics is played. There is no Father Christmas in Politics. Fubara can’t just come and push all of them away. He has to negotiate, compromise to keep power at least until 2027. He does not have the number to fight!

The 19 sins are listed in the allegations of Gross misconduct filed against the Governor. Even the Supreme Court identified some of those sins. Take note also that the Constitution empowers the Assembly to interpret Gross misconduct by them selves provided the Judiciary( through the independent panel) agrees with them. It is simple. We are in a Democracy. There are Rules in Politics. If you are not smart enough to navigate the rules then Resign and leave politics for politician. Otherwise you end up like fubara resulting in Ethnic threats! Calling your tribesmen to threaten everyone with pipeline vandalisation. Was it threat that made him Governor? Wike did not break any law. Every one of Wike’s action was legal. When did impeachment become a crime? Fubara is the one breaking all the laws that makes a democracy like a despot as described by the Supreme Court. You don’t go to war in democracy when you don’t have the numbers. If you must fight you wait and deploy resources to make sure you have the numbers. How on earth can you collapse another arm of government because you only have 4 members and are scared of impeachment. How do you demolish a legislative building?
