Good morning people and the gurus in the house. Please I need your opinion on this;
I have admission in Memorial University of Newfoundland to study Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. Tuition fee is 6,390CAD and I intend to make full payment. I'm a graduate of Accountancy (2.1) and a member of the institute of Chartereed Accountants of Nigeria with over seven years banking experience ( Operations), no Marketing experience. I'm married with three kids and my wife is baker. My wife's baking business is registered with CAC, though she uses her personal account to receive payments. It is actually at a growing stage.
For my proof of fund, I have someone that wants to buy one of my landed property,( I have three) for 15m and would pay the money into my account. Aside my usual monthly salaries, quarterly and upfront payments by the bank, my account has not witnessed this type of fund in the past.
I choosed this course to enable me cap up my experiences, as I have limited experience in business development/Marketing. I actually gave myself a target of 8 years to leave Banking. I intend to set up a spare parts business upon my return to Nigeria, hence the one year program. This is the business my people are known for and I had a 3-year apprenticeship before I gained admission to the university years back. I could easily get supplies(in million of Naira) from my people and pay after sales. I have registered a business name with CAC for this purpose.

My questions are;

1. If I attach the deed of conveyance for the sale of the land and estate Surveyor valuation report, is it enough to justify the lump sum?

2. Is it necessary to do valuation reports for the other two landed property and attach same to my application?

3. Is my reason for this one year program convincing?

4. Do I need to leave some funds in my wife's account for upkeep while I'm away. If yes, how much?

5. I have not travelled out of the country before, have not been denied visa before. So, no traveling history. Is this a major problem?

6. Is there anything I need to add to make my application more solid?

Please I would appreciate any advice/guadince in this regard. Thank you in advance.

Thank you very much.

Hello Ossysam1,

If for some impossibility you can not use your parents, your sibling is a justifiable guarantor. All you need to do is show sufficient proof of relationship.

As a business, get him to use his savings or personal account and show some financial commitment toward the intent.

Best of Luck[/quote]

Good afternoon House,
I want to apply for study permit using my elder brother as my sponsor. He is 45years and 1am 40years. I have a BSc in Accounting (3.70/5) with over 8years banking experience. I was offered admission in Financial Planning (PGD)for Jan 2022.
I was shocked when someone told me that it will be difficult to get a study permit if I use my brother to serve as my sponsor. My elder brother is a business man.

Please I will appreciate if I can be properly guided so I would be sure I'm in the right direction both for the course and sponsorship.

Thank you.

Good afternoon Nairaland Family.

Please I would like to know if someone can apply for study permit (PGD) without part payment of school fees. In other words, is part payment of school fees compulsory before submitting application.

Please note; the school has already sent a conditional offer of admission. Below is the content of the letter;

"Dear ......

This letter confirms that you met the provisional admission offer for the post degree in ......offered at the unversity of winnipeg ...

Met Admission requirement form - use this document for your application to IRCC for a study permit. Pleas consult with IRCC to determine if you can apply for a study permit with a provisional letter, or you should wait until you receive an unconditional offer"

Thank you.

Good evening People,,

One of the requirements from Memorial University for Graduate diploma in business administration is a minimum of 3.0 GPA on a point scale of 4 which is 75%. I have a GPA of 3.74 on a 5 point scale which is 74.8%

Please can I go ahead and apply for admission considering that my GPA is a bit less than 75%?
