German prosecutors said Tuesday they had opened a manslaughter investigation against a 49-year-old woman after the corpse of a new-born baby girl was found in her freezer after 10 years.

The grisly find was made by her former husband on Friday when he defrosted the freezer in the house where they used to live, said prosecutors in the northern city of Flensburg.

It was not clear whether the baby was alive or dead when placed in the freezer, investigators said.

A female traveler on her way to Lagos from Port Harcourt was kidnapped and taken away at gun point for slaughter.

Her fresh corpse was later found close to the point where she was kidnapped two weeks later, with vital organs of her
body, including tongue, breasts and clitoris missing and Vanguard gathered that this is the second of such incident occurring in the area in three weeks

The victim, Miss Tonia Ibelefa, 25, was travelling in company of two male relations in a private car when the incident occurred.

Eyewitness told Vanguard that the armed ritualists blocked the expressway, dragged the University of Port Harcourt graduate out of the car and took her into the bush, adding that the two male family members with the girl surrendered her at gun point.

US fans have alleged Banky W and his EME team of defrauding them of their hard earn money over the sudden cancellation of EME US tour that should have been held in California in August.

As we gathered, after Banky W cancelled his show in July 2011, efforts by some fans, who had earlier bought ticket for the show, to get refund of their money or get the show rescheduled as promised by EME has been successful.

The 2011 tour was then organised by Royal Entertainment. After much hype made on that concert and the almost sold out ticket for the event, and its eventual cancellation, no refund was made. Reason for the cancellation, according to reports then was that Wizkid and Skales were denied US visas.

This was followed by an apology released by Banky W which reads; "As far as the EME tour goes… it hurts me to say we tried our very best to pull it off. We did everything we were supposed to. Twice.

Truth is, there were some issues that are beyond our control, and we kept pushing, trying to resolve 'em. We worked hard and spent a sh*t load of money in the process… but it wasn't under our control.

In anycase, we're STILL working on resolving said issues. And the minute they are, we'll launch a couple of make up dates immediately. I want to give a shoutout to all the fans who have been so patient

The Northern States Governors Forum recently set up a committee to look into the state of insecurity in the region. The move considered belated in some quarters, is the first overt move by the northern governors to stem the crisis that has turned the region into a theatre of war.

THE decision of the governors of the 19 northern states to set up a 41-man committee to address the spate of bombings and other terrorist actions in the region came out of the blue. For long the governors had kept mute on the issue with many of them skirting around calls for decisiveness from the populace.

Their silence and that of other notable northern leaders at one point forced the President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, to chide them over what he insinuated was either cowardice or cringing fear.

Speaking during an Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, summit in January, Senator Mark berated Northern leaders over their inability to condemn terrorism in the region. He had fumed: “Won’t we be able to condemn current degree of insecurity in the North occasioned and heightened by Boko Haram? Are we afraid to openly condemn Boko Haram either for political reasons or out of fear of possible attack by the sect? ”

Despite this challenge by Mark and several others, nothing much came from the northern leaders and governors except, calls now and then, for dialogue with the sect by a few northern radicals such as Alhaji Balarabe Musa, Alhaji Ali Monguno, Shehu Sani and the Arewa Consultative among others.

The 41-man rescue squad: The seeming quietness inevitably sent signals of acceptance of the actions of the Boko Haram group by the northern leaders. Even when northerners and Muslims were the subject of the attack as it happened in Kano last January, not much expression of revulsion was expressed. It was as such not surprising that some alleged that Boko Haram had become a tool by the north’s elite to negotiate power ahead of the 2015 general elections.

The Committee is expected to be inaugurated next Wednesday in Abuja.

A young Nigerian football, Henry Chinonso Ihelewere on Sunday slumped and died while playing for his club Delta Tulcea in Romania.

The 21-year-old striker suddenly collapsed with no one around him after 15 minutes of the game involving division two teams Delta and FC Balote?ti. Medics battled for an hour trying to resuscitate the player, he never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
