Hi everyone I need some clarification regarding spousal sponsorship.

My wife applied for visitor visa 3 years ago and did biometrics.

She was rejected for the visitor visa then.

Now we are about to submit her pr application for her spousal sponsorship.

Do we need to still pay for biometrics since the biometrics she took for her visitor visa is not expired ?

Also I have already paid 1,205cad for the application, in case she needs a new biometric am I to pay the extra 85cad for biometric and attach them to the application ?

I am confused here... Thanks

After submitting your application you can do upfront medicals or wait until it is requested.
Upfront medicals means taking your medical exam unprompted, before they ask for it as part of your application. Usually medicals are requested at the very end of the processing time, and is usually a sign you are about to get approved. But, you can go to a recognized IRCC physician and take medicals. The advantage of taking medicals upfront, is that it might reduce your processing time a little bit.

I completed upfront medicals yesterday Thursday March 12th. This morning I received a request for a medical exam on my portal, but I guess it was triggered by my upfront medical. And my spouse received an email showing her eligibility to sponsor is passed

I don't think you need to worry too much about this. I think you must just include as much evidence as possible that the relationship is genuine and legal. You can also include an LOE as the reason why your parent couldn't attend the wedding. Worst case scenario is that you will be called for an interview, which I doubt. Goodluck.

U guys have a young marriage....u should be settled in Canada now where u both wont have residency issues....and can both work...

maybe u are not looking well...There are tons of course she can do as masters that's also related to her bachelor's .... ...

I'm not understanding why ur wife is thinking of UK for a masters degree? Why can't she do masters in the country where u are a citizen and u both won't have worry of residency

Yeah your suggestion would have been the best option, but getting admission for her programme in Canada would not be easy, I have looked through most schools and its just few schools offering her discipline at masters level (agric) .

Also, the admission requirements and visa process seems to be quite hectic since she will be considered an international student compared to the easy process of UK.

I am trying to get her into UK for a graduate programme, then if I can also get a job in the UK, we spend 2 years working and visiting Canada, so crossing to Canada after her programme will be easier that way than crossing from Nigeria considering the little snag we have in the spousal sponsorship I wrote in my previous thread.

I am a Canadian Citizen, married to a Nigerian.
My wife is thinking of applying for a masters degree programme in the UK.
I do not want to be away from her as the marriage is still relatively young.

Now that the dependent visa is cancelled, as a Canadian citizen, I am allowed to stay in the UK for 6 months.

Is it possible to search for a job within this 6 months, get an offer and convert my visit to a work visa ?

I do not need a visa to enter the UK as a Canadian citizen.

I work in IT as a Network and Cyber Security Analyst.

Thank you, honestly was just super worried that my parents not attending would cause a lot of problems in the application, thank you for your input.

not an issue, i know someone who had same issue last year. Parents also wanted him to marry their friends daughter, they did only court . His wife is in Canada with him today. Just provide evidence of chats with your wife or parents talking about the family disapproval. No issues.

Can you please confirm if he ticked parents as absent during the wedding on that form and provided an explanation?
Just want to hear from a real story and experience so I can be properly guided.

It's good a church wedding was involved as Church weddings always have pastors and church venue, and church members u didn't invite, which gives ur wedding an element of originality if u have pictures to show....

.u also have registry document to combine with your church wedding.... So I don't think u will have too much issues with CIC if u tell the truth..... Oyinbo knows not everyone are in good terms with their parents

U can back up with pre wedding photos, .what's app chat since u were dating....proof of money exchange and so on....

Hi everyone, I need some good advice.
I am a Canadian citizen who relocated back to Nigeria in December 2022 and I started a relationship January this year.
We got married in September and currently about to apply for spousal sponsorship.
I am staying in Nigeria until the sponsorship is approved although we are also planning to apply for trv after we get AOR for the spousal sponsorship.

I am going through the forms now and I am in some kind of a dilemna ... I found out in form imm5532e that I am supposed to indicate if my parents(sponsor) attended the wedding.
Due to some differences and misunderstanding, my parents did not attend the wedding (they were not in support) but my wifes parents were in attendance and fully supported the wedding.

Can someone who has some experience about this educate me on how to handle this area ? I am a little worried that stating that my parents did not attend the wedding will be a red flag and I am not sure how to handle that.
