Thanks bro. That was a very matured critism OluDare01: owenlinks, congratulations to you. On a quicknote, you kept on repeating the same thing. The question " why this school" is very sensitive. There's over 1000 universities and colleges in the US, why did you choose A and not B? Alot of people talk about a particular research going on somewhere and funding. Mehn! I really salute you, you were determined but you should have worked on your flaws earlier. Welcome to the volunteer state, I am sure you will have a good time in JC. Cheers. |

Silent reader here. Visa approved on the 4th of January and it was my 4th attempt after 3 denials in 2016. But I just have to give back to those preparing for interview as much I have gained immensely from this forum. So I'll start from the very first interview because I believe you actually learn more from denials.
1st interview: female Vo (1st person in line ) Vo. Good morning Me. Good morning (Nervously) Vo. Pass me your 1-20 (I did) Vo. Where are you going to? Me. I'm going to east tennessee state university at johnson tennessee Vo. How many schools did you apply to? Me. Well I applied to east tennessee state university, florida international university and new Jersey institute of technology. Vo. Why etsu? Me. Because I promised a graduate assistantship by Dr. *** Vo. Did you write any exams? Me. Yes i wrote the graduate records exams (passes her the printout - wrong move. Don't present extra documents unless you're asked) Vo. When did you write this exam? Me. I was frozen (for my mind i don Bleep up!! I was actually expecting her to ask for my scores and i wrote it awhile back and have totally forgotten the exact date) And she denied me straight and went as far as saying she thinks it might be a fake result (for my mind, I say see gobe) I was really down for a couple of months.
2nd interview: female vo (Person before me got his visa to study at etsu for that matter lol. Same course too) Vo. Next please Me. Good morning Vo. 1-20 please (passed it) Vo. Why did you choose etsu? (Typing at the same time) Me. Well I wanted a program that focus on managerial development as well technical development and after doing my research on Google etsu came up. I delved in further I realised that etsu offered courses that were focused in areas I needed development. Vo. Sorry I can't approve your visa right now and hands me the denial slip (I could tell she felt bad about it but I knew it had to do with my first denial. The previous Vo probably noted down all my Bleep ups )
Interview 3: male Vo Vo. Good morning Me. Good morning sir Vo. Why etsu? Me. Well technology is a big deal right now and I feel this experience and degree will give me and edge in the competitive market. The tuition is affordable and during my admission process. I was in contact with etsu and thr other 2 universities by making constant enquires about my concerns, and etsu were the most responsive so I was really impressed by that (I could swear he was about to grant me the visa) Vo. Did you take any standardised test? Me. Me yes I took gre (reluctantly because of my earlier Bleep up from first interview) Vo. Can I see it (passed it to him. He kept typing for awhile then stood up to enquire from the very first Vo that denied me. For my mind I say eeeh!! E don set again oh jesu. After a couple of minutes she came with him and they were both looking at his screen then she left. He kept typing then handed me the dreaded denial paper. I could hear someone from the line say eeeh behind me because i guess they expected me to actually get it too) I was down too but got over it quickly.
26th December 2016. I was just at home after plenty enjoyment and chilling on my ps4 and thought to myself if not for denial I for dey etsu now oh for my studies. Then I decided to give it one last shot!! Before my i-20 expires. I reasoned did not want any regrets for not trying this last time and start thinking what if? So I reluctantly paid the visa fee (54,400 nor be beans) I actually travelled without a complete application lol. I was yet to take a new passport photograph, I haven't even printed out the appointment confirmation, ds 160, visa fee slip (i paid online because gt bank had network problems) completed everything a day to my interview. To be honest I did not care because my mind was 50-50. I told God 'father let your will be done. If i get it fine, if i don't I won't stress. I will go back home and watch my Naruto jeje and play ps4 on top. You know best'
4th interview: female Vo Vo. Good morning, sorry about that (previous guy got denied but stood there for awhile. Oga nor gree comot oh but i understood his pains) Me. It's okay (I didn't feel like smiling. Someone else's misfortune should not be something to smile about) Vo. Tell me about your study plans. Me. Well I'll be going to etsu for my *****( named some courses and highlighted how they would be important in my development) Vo. Why etsu? Me. Well technology is a big deal right now and I feel this experience and degree will give me and edge in the competitive market. The tuition is affordable and during my admission process. I was in contact with etsu and thr other 2 universities by making constant enquires about my concerns, and etsu were the most responsive so I was really impressed by that. Vo. Are you married? Me. I'm engaged (strong home ties) Vo. Where do you work? Me. Told her Vo. Who's sponsoring you? Me. My mum ( told her what she does and that I also have my personal savings too for any additional expenses I might accumulate during my stay ) Vo. What will you do after your studies? Me. I will be returning back home and utilize the skills I have acquired in work because quite frankly, with all that experience I will be a hot cake when I return. (Next thing I knew. She don give me white paper and send pick up your visa in 3 working days. I was dumb founded because I was not expecting it. I just wanted to give it one more try and fulfil all righteousness.
I went through the effort to write this for those going for interview. Don't make the same mistakes I did. Rather learn from it, one silly mistake can make things really difficult. Visa denial is not the end of the world, just have that at the back of your mind. If it happens refire and prepare better. Vo's have few minutes to make decisions, their jobs can't be easy. For those who got it without stress should thanks their stars and those who struggled like me will understand the dissapointment before the joy. Perseverance is key, don't give up on your dreams. God bless you all |

Youngpo413: Apple are not their mates, nobody can compete with Apple, they are always 10 steps ahead of any rival. And what are you basing this on? You do realise samsung phones has consistently had the better specs, better camera, better screen and so on. They have consistently had apple beat in every area except the operating system. And the only reason apple has that advantage is because their ecosystem is more enclosed and they're more restricted. Only apple products run ios. While android covers a wider range of more devices like samsung, Sony, nexus, htc, etc. So the android os is not as refined as ios. But it's getting better. @op it's simply s7 and s7 edge. Not s7 mini |

For some reason i don't enjoy playing FUT, still wondering what all the fuss is all about. Even if you have ronaldo, messi, and all the best players in your team you will still get beaten if you meet a better player. I normally play online seasons instead, and work my way up to division 1. jmaine: Do not be mistaken, the speed dribbling online is back with the no touch dribbling. [b]Krasi even made it worse with his speed boost exploit which renders the ultra alert defenders stranded.
I seriously struggled in division 7 FUT before getting relegated , in H2H, am doing pretty great it takes time to adapt to this game from the FIFA 15 mechanics but all is now well.
The no touch dribbling and fake shot is OP . Mastering it execution and defense is key. |

Konga finally delivered my ps4 copy on monday, Been playing it since. My Thoughts: The graphics looks a better than 15, although the animation can still seem robotic at times. The ball moves slower, you need to use the passing with purpose technique (R1) to speed it up and the players takes awhile to control the ball depending on how hard you hit the ball and their direction with the incoming pass. Their stamina drains faster too and they get tired easily. For some reason fast attackers (with the exemption of Ronaldo) can get caught by defenders which can be a bit annoying. Lob passes (Up through pass) has been downgraded while crossing is over powered. Legacy defending has been downgraded, it just draws your players out of position while your opponent picks you off, so I switched to tactical defending; not very good at it yet but practice makes perfect (besides you can only use tactical defending for online matches) More emphasis is placed on passing the ball around the pitch. So all you speed junkies, myself included can't just pick Real Madrid or Barcelona and run all over the pitch. Overall it's better than 15, it's more realistic and plays less arcadey. It can be a bit frustrating the first few hours, but once you start getting the hang of it, you will appreciate the realism EA is going for. PS: Had to completely change my playing style from fifa 15. |

This whole argument about Fifa vs Pes is getting old, just play the one you enjoy. I play fifa because I enjoy the gameplay, it has better commentary, better presentation, and I can't stand my beloved manchester united being called man red like in pes. I do wish the champions league mode was in fifa but I guess we can't have it all and I doubt pes will relinquish the license anytime soon, it's the only major license they've got going for them. Just ordered my ps4 copy from konga, I wish they would get it to me sooner ( I can't stand the wait anymore). Hit me on psn - Naija_Ninja007. Warning: I kick ass |

Ojukwu had balls, your so called new crop of ojuwu's are nothing but cowards (yourself included). And you didn't survive the war, you were beaten with your tail between your legs and you surrendered like cowards. xtrorse: Scallywag, you shall continue to bark and bark like the braggart Bode Thomas on Igbo issues.
These are notorious acts of Edo people:
1. International prostitution Fact# 2. Wicked juju-enslavement of girls Fact# 3. Barbaric witchcraft and ritual practices Fact# 4. Credit cards scammers Fact# 5. 419 business Fact# 6. Greedy treasury looters Fact# 7. Saboteurs and treacherous backstabbers Fact# 8. Executors of genocide on Anioma people Fact#
If you talk about any positive human endeavour Edo people are nowhere near the Igbos. In education, Igbos are highly schooled and have the highest number of professors in the country. The Igbo child would need to score higher than his/her Edo counterpart to be able to secure admission into unity school. This wicked quota system is one the evils that gives you the boldness to rant stupidly and carelessly online.
In the last war Igbos defended themselves against world powers-backed Nigeria with Egyptian bombers, against over 200 ethnic nationalities in Nigeria and survived. But right now you have with you a new crop of Ojukwus who are ever ready to whip silly out of your smelly ar$es.
Never again shall the blood of Biafrans be wasted on the dirty streets of Nigeria in vain. If you you think otherwise you can start from Lagos... |

Dimwit, let me spell it out for you. The chinese produced lower quality products because your greedy importers asked them to. You produce fake beer and drugs killing thousands because you have no disregard for the lives of your fellow man as long as you're making money - fact 1 You people are generally known for being ritualists - fact 2 Drugging traffickers - fact 3 You produce baby factories - fact 4 You're cunning, greedy and self entitled - fact 5 You send your kids to learn trading because you can't be bothered to send them to school (modern day slavery a.k.a houseboy/housegirl) - fact 6 Your brothers kill each other because of a pieces of land, they probably inherited - fact 7 You don't give out your daughters in marriage, you sell them to the highest bidder- fact 8. For every single vice you name about we the binis, i can name a million to one for the igbos. The irony of this whole thing is the fact that you even come on Nairaland to spew rubbish, an online community created by Seun Osewa, the very same yoruba you claim to hate. Honestly, you're nothing but a bunch of keyboard warriors who can't seem to enjoy peace, you went to war before and we know how that ended for you. If you're so tough, why do you have to run abroad before you fly the biafra flag, why not fly it here in Nigeria so we'll all know how serious you really are. Heck, you can even nail it on your door post or stick it to your cars. Like i said, cowards. xtrorse: Give up frustrated bigot, Igbos owe you nothing! Stop being unnecessarily envious of the Igbos. This is a free world of association. Nobody compels you to patronise the Igbo traders. You don't expect to buy a quality product at a reduced price except you're a confirmed dullard. If you have the right money to purchase an item go into a good shop and buy your good. The electronic gadgets you are using and your wears, are they not from the Igbo importers? Why don't you blame the Chinese for having different qualities for an item? Stop fooling around and be apportioning the blames on Igbos.
If you're not lazy, get up, dust your bum-bum and go into import business. Nobody is tying you down, you sluggard!
What about the collaboration of Edo elites as stooges to their slave masters in the continual injustice and evils perpetrated in the land? You think Igbos don't know how your Edo people as sasaboteurs collude to loot the treasury and still expect the Igbos to remain with you in this cesspit.
Are Edo people not in the same Lagos you are accusing Igbos? Did you give Igbos lands for free in Edo State? So, what's biting you? Are you normal at all? Or you just want to be fooling around to be noticed?
If Edoid groups are hardworking and not hateful you wouldn't be so restless creating many threads online and releasing unprovoked insults on Igbos. Igbos are not your mates.
There are a million and one things wrong with your people, ranging from juju-enslavement of girls, international prostitution, dubiousness, scammers to 419 business. Virtually all the culprits caught disgracing Nigeria abroad in international prostitution and juju-enslavement of girls are of Edo origin. Fact#
The Igbo's quest is not for lazy cowards who have only survived by being stooges. Igbos hate nobody except you are a sworn enemy to truth, justice and equity. |

Every tribe in Nigeria have one distinct characteristics but I bet we can all wholeheartedly agree that igbo's are greedy.-i'm bini and we edos are very open to other tribes hence the reason why edo state is very diverse. Can the igbo's boast of that? Yes we travel abroad a lot because we're naturally hustlers, we don't sit on our laurels and hope for manna to fall for heaven because we feel we're entitled and it's our birthright like some of you claim. Igbo's have always been driven by money and personal gain. 80% of Nigerians being sentenced to death in malaysia for drug trafficking are igbo. Igbo's are the only people who will use even their own mothers for ritual. When you want to marry an igbo woman, Her parents would charge you like they won the lottery without thinking twice how you will feed and manage your home after matrimony. News flash: she's your child, you're obliged to cater for her as a parent. They claim to hate the yoruba's yet the first place they run to when they leave the village is lagos (even your igbo dramas portray that) Igbo's are the reason we are struggling with low quality goods and contraband in this country. They've flooded the market with cheap goods all because they want to make more money. Aba clothes, china phones, fake drugs e.t.c I can say a million things wrong with igbo's. You may hate the yoruba's but they are most respectful and open people I have seen. A good leader stands infront of the fire line. Nelson Mandela went to jail because he fought for what he believed, Gandhi too. Ojukwu might have lost, but he is still respected till this day because he fought for his people and took the fall. This your new leader (whatever his name is) is hiding behind radio waves and social media is a coward and can't be taken seriously. I still don't get why you lot are so filled with hate. |
