No fewer than 11 Bachelor of Technology students of the department of Urban and Regional Planning, Cross River University of Technology, Calabar; escaped death recently while on a practical tour, Owojela's Blog learnt.


The vehicle conveying the students to Akpet Central during a practical tour was involved in a ghastly accident along Akamkpa axis of the Calabar-Ogoja road.

According to a source named CrutechPress, it was revealed that the accident occurred at 11 am along the Akamkpa axis of the road. However no life was lost in the incident.

Speaking to a source, one of the victims attributed the root cause to the bad state of the vehicle saying “The accident happened due to the unhealthy condition of the vehicle which led to the dropping of fuel on the exhaust”..

Another fresh cult clash has occured in Calabar South local government area of Cross River State and no fewer than two persons were reported dead.

The clash occured recently on Saturday between suspected cult groups, Klans and Axe members which led to the death of two persons.


Owojela's Blog gathered that the brutal murder occurred at Mayne Avenue by Ekpo Abasi and Abasi Edem streets.


An eyewitness, who craved anonymity, said one of the victims was identified as Last Born while the other’s identity was unknown at the time of filing this report.

“We were at Mayne Avenue by Ekpo Abasi on Saturday night when we saw people running and shouting, and of course, we are used to it in this location (we even call it Temple Run), so we took to our hills after hearing sporadic gunshots.

“When the atmosphere became calmed a little, I heard people shouting and some jubilating that, ‘him cup don full’ and as people were trying to aid the victim, they realised he is a known cultist who goes by the name Last Born.


“Before we could say ‘Jack Robinson’, the police swung into action and the whole place was deserted. However, they (Police) later recovered the corpse of Last Born from the roadside”, he said.

It was further learnt that the death of last Born extended the pandemonium to Abasi Edem Street, where another person was shot to death.

Some residents of the area have attributed the renewed clash to last month’s fracas that claimed one victim, known as Change. The clash was believed to be a retaliation of the death of Change.

Alternative singer Adekunle Gold, has explained the reason behind him reaching out to former MTN Project Fame Winner, Olawale, who was seen riding an Uber.


Few weeks ago, Olawale was spotted driving an Uber and some Nigerians mocked him on how he went from being a winner to a driver.



Adekunle Gold in a Chat with Cool FM disclosed why he reached out to help him;

“So there’s this guy called Olawale, he won Project Fame and I can’t remember which year.

When I saw his video that went viral talking about him doing uber and how people have abused him on how do you go from winning Project Fame to riding Uber, and he was just being honest.

He was just saying I can’t steal, I don’t know how to steal, a man has to do what he has to do to fend for himself. And that touched me because that’s everything I’ve always been about.

A former presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria,ACPN and a former minister of Education, Dr Oby Ezekwesili has called out popular human rights activist, Segun Awosanya aka Segalink as being a fraud.


Owojela's Blog learnt that Ezekwesili said this while reacting to Segalink’s response to President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on New Media, Bashir Ahmad’s “attack” on Omotola Jalade, Nollywood actress — Over her statement calling out the present administration on the state of the nation.
Segalink in his response took a swipe at Bahsir for the statement for ‘insulting’ Omotola and Ezekwesili wasn’t pleased.

According to the former minister, Segalinks behaved just like that to her in 2015, when she led a protest demanding that government brings back the abducted Chibok schoolgirls.
