"I hope you didn't leave anything behind Janet ?" , her mummy said looking at her with a beautiful smile,
"No mum" Janet replied closing her dad's car boot with a little too much force, causing a loud slam ,she looked up to her mum, she was going to miss all her pampering and petting , she was going to miss sitting on her laps and playing with her fingers and her lovely stories most especially about "ijapa" the mischievous tortoise who uses it,s wisdom to get the best for itself at the detriment of others, she wanted to hug her but it wasn't time to say good bye yet but Mrs adebowale read her daughter's mind , "I will call regularly I promise" , ooh mum!, Janet exclaimed hugging her tight with hot tears swelling in her eyes just then her dad walked out through the front door cutting the emotional scene short.

The news spread like wild fire, it was all over the broadcasting stations, the talk of the social media. Torrents of tears rolled down unstopped,paving down Janet's cheek diverting halfway into her a gaped mouth. Her tongue salty..


Oh God! Why?!, why me?!, how did i end up like?! this she shook visibly disturbing her baby,s sleep.
She stared into her eyes, her baby girl.
Here she was with a new born baby in hands, this should be a day of joy, this should be her day of joy! , but instead she was trapped in the clenching fist of sorrow . Back as oau aspirants,we've all being hearing from many of our seniors about the poor state and condition of the school,s toilet on various social media mostly on WhatsApp ,nevertheless we were excited and anxious about resumption and as at April 30 2016 ,students from various part of the country stormed into the school for the beginning of a new semester and this was emphasised  by the heavy traffic where personally i spent close to an hour just from the school gate to the sub ground ,and another additional 3o minutes to my hall(Angola)the bedrock of oau militancy of which i proudly reside .
The day,s stress was yet to end as we had to cue to pay our student union fee of six hundred naira !!! Before we were let into the hostel ,this i judge as unfair because not all paid this due and were allowed to enter without obstruction.

Back to school,s toilet, personally, because of the disruptive news have heard about the state of toilets i did not use the convenience for about 3 days .when at last i could no longer cheat nature, i was compelled to make use of my block,s toilet(k7).

On entering into the toilet i was welcomed by the strong smell of urine ,with the floor wet with unclean water .now this was nothing compared to the toilet sink(wc) where about 4 out of 5 were filled with  faeces with flies having a nice time buzzing round them.
The flushers were also not functioning and neither was there water supply. I wasted no time in easing myself, flushing and getting the hell out. I concluded that the school had not being trying enough
About the state of the school,s toilet.

But i also noticed as weeks rolled by ,that the maintenance of a neat and hygienic toilet is a work to be done by both the school and the students.
Faeces did not just appear from thin air into the toilet sink, someone had to be unhygienic and naughty enough to use the convenience without flushing .
Students should endeavour to flush the toilet properly after usage and the school management should also do a yearly renovation of the hostel toilets most especially those assigned to fresher's as we all know the popular saying "first impression lasts "

"oba awon university".
The sun was shinning brightly like a happy face on a happy day.
And there it Was!,
Standing gallant and beautiful as a glorious knight,the great gate of the "oba awon university".
With the sculpture of our great ancestor oduduwa displayed gracefully as a swan,my heart filled with pride my blood risen .
Looking out through the car window
I could see the beautiful green pasture spread wide by the roadside.
And the road,the road seem like an infinite straight .
Oh such beautiful sight!, have you seen the tall mountains and the white puffy clouds on top?
Great Angolans!,the bedrock of Oau militancy occupied by bright intellctual males, the strongest and fittest.
The chilling breeze at night, the warm weather during the day
Relentless ever pushing forward students of our great citadel
Obafemi awolowo university,"oba awon university".
The center of excellence and culture,the best among the rest
The stronghold of great learning and uptmost academic excellence

Black is beautiful

She was made up of blinding colours of violet and blue
Her black skin shone brightly in the morning sun
Her shoes golden and bright like the fairy princess of a faraway land
Her face displayed a set of snow white teeth as her smile stretched to our cheek
Her black curly hair,
She walked past me,
Tempting,
Like a mermaid sitting on the surface of a running river
