The fact that uve managed to use the oil money to develop some few places in nigeria doest make it developed. Only 0.00005% of nigeria land mass is with few nice buildings. The rest of nigeria is like a zoo.SLUMS,MUD AND WOOD BUILDINGS EVERYWHERE. |

Zakkyoz: Some years back, i was planning to further my education in Ghana but had a change of mind cos of inherent hatred Ghanaians have for us. Why so much hatred on Nigeria? You don't even accept the fact that we are giant of Africa. If u call yourselves giant of Africa on merit of your overpopulation then that's up to u.Apart from that u people are giant in foolishness. |

Waspy: This shld make FP. The Op is matured and sensible. The thread promises great info. I've always taken Gh as a sister country. I was actually afraid, my immature Naija goons might show up throwing tantrums and their folly hence embarrassing the country.
@Op, who exactly is Charles (Charlie) and what makes him popular over there. We hear virtually all Ghanaians call him?? We use charley to address ourselves in GHANA because we see ourselves as one.We don't like to discriminate. |

Some sought asylum in Brazil while some renounced their citizenship due to hardship. I didn't lump the two stories together, so STFU.
Ghanaian football fans seek asylum in Brazil
Hundreds of Ghanaian football fans travelled to Brazil to follow their team in the World Cup Brazilian federal police say that some 200 Ghanaians have requested asylum after entering the country on tourist visas to watch the World Cup. The Ghanaians say they are Muslims fleeing inter-religious conflicts in their home country. They have filed their applications in the southern city of Caxias do Sul, in one of Brazil's most prosperous areas. The BBC's Sammy Darko in Ghana's capital, Accra, says the country has no recorded religious conflict. Ghana is seen as one of the most peaceful and prosperous countries in West Africa. The Brazilian authorities believe many of the Ghanaians are looking for the right to work legally in the country.
817 Ghanaians renounce their Citizenship
The Ministry of Interior has revealed about 817 Ghanaians denounced their Citizenship in the year 2013 as against 39 foreigners who applied to be Ghanaians. This was made known when the Ministry took its turn at the meet the press series addressed by the Minister in charge of Interior, Kwesi Ahwoi in Accra on Monday. According to the Ministry, 538 applied for German citizenship, 233 sought Dutch, Norway 32, Denmark 7, Austria 5, Hong Kong 1 and China 1. The Ghanaians stated among other things, good economic conditions, high wages and salaries and other incentives associated with their profession in their countries of choice as reasons for their exit from Ghana. Out of the 817, 450 were females and 367 males. The Director of Migration at the Ministry of Interior, David Agorsor, described the situation as ”alarming” because the persons involved were highly skilled professionals. “Recently, we have noticed that the number of Ghanaians renouncing their Ghanaian citizenship is on the increase and in very much alarming and the caliber of Ghanaians who are renouncing their Ghanaian citizenship … are health workers, doctors and all that who find it very easy to work there, and the remuneration that they also get there is much more better than when they live in Ghana and work,” Mr. Agorsor indicated. Nigerian's Begging For Asylum In Greece by thameamead( f): 2:48pm On Oct 31 , 2009 Did anyone watch last night's Unreported World on Channel 4. It was about Afghan's languishing in over- crowded jails just like Nigerian's in Libya, Towards the end of the progarmme there was a scene where both afghan's and African's were begging for asylum in the rain. i was able to pick up two nigerian accents from a lady and a man. Why are our people going to places like Greece to seek asylum, these people are ill-informed, i know how bad things are in Nigeria but i know Greece is worst. Uk, Holland and Us is much better, at least you can work illegally if know the right people here in the UK, If anyone out there in Nigeria is reading this, pls stay away from Greece and Libya, try the Uk and pls be here before the next election when the "we shall deport all illegal immgrants and bogus asylum and refugee & scrap the human right's bill" party(conservatives- tory toffs) win the election,. |
