Nigerians should wise up and stop making the same mistakes they used to make in the past. There is hunger in the land.

I stumbled across this interesting story on social media.Below is what Tony wrote....

'ALEX EPHRAIMS

The story of Alex Ephraims will do no less than inspire and excite every sound mind. He was one of very few competent modernized and automated mechanic workshops in Owerri.

His exploits were so much that IMO state government of Rochas Okorocha entered into a deal with him (back in Rochas' first term) to do all kinds of things that would have transformed the state to a large extent under the auspices of ICAPS. (Well, government eventually frustrated the deal and Engr Alex pulled out).

The foreign-trained automechanical expert relocated to his own base here in Owerri and continued pursuit of his dream.

As soon as I returned to Nigeria from a business trip a few months ago, I was invited to see what he has been up to. What I saw left me thoroughly impressed.

In a private workshop of no larger than two plots of land, he had set up a car manufacturing plant here in Owerri. And he already had a finished product sample.

That's not the best part. What he does is akin to what a tailor does. He has a catalog of various car designs and specs. You peruse the catalog, choose any design you like and he produces it for you with any type of facilities or utilities or technology you desire, be it reverse camera, or air conditioner, or speed control system. His is the first known car manufacturing firm with well developed customization services in Nigeria.

He has a team of young men he picked and trained. They are specialists in their various fields of auto mechanical craft.
*Good*
No material is a waste. He runs a very efficient recycling process.

Recently, he carried out a road test of his sample car. The IMO state commissioner of Police refused to deny himself the opportunity of seeing and testing the vehicle. The crowd that trailed the road test from his workshop to certain parts of Owerri was massive.

Alex hails from Nwangele LGA of IMO State'.

Just look at the gravel road and it's tiny width with no gutters. Only God knows its length.

Anyhow, tell this guy to invest in agriculture, poultry and build small agro-based factories to employ youths in his community. That will help develop his place much faster than the
100 short gravel roads

Properties / Nigerian Government Pledges To Complete Construction Projects In Three Years by OYELLOLO: 11:48pm On Jun 19, 2016

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, says the Federal Government is committed to finishing all ongoing projects within three years.
Mr. Fashola gave the assurance on Saturday evening after inspecting work at the Loko-Oweto Bridge over River Benue. The bridge connects Loko and Oweto communities in Nasarawa and Benue respectively.
He said the Federal Government would make funds available to pay contractors as soon as they delivered completed projects.
“The Federal Government of Nigeria and President Muhammadu Buhari have expressed very clear commitment to finish the ongoing and abandoned projects.
“We are focusing on completion of ongoing projects; this is one of the many ongoing projects.
“Lagos-Ibadan expressway is one of them; Kano-Maiduguri is one of them; Ilorin-Jebba is one of them and the Second Niger Bridge is one of them.
“All those projects now, the contractors are moving back to sites and work is beginning. Gradually over the next three years we would complete many of them,” the minister said.
Mr. Fashola expressed the confidence that the resumption of construction activities would stimulate expansion of infrastructure, create jobs and generate commercial opportunities for the people.
He said when completed, the Loko-Oweto Bridge would boost socio-economic activities in Nasarawa and Benue.
“You will see those who lost their jobs; they would come back to work. You would see increased merchandising and supply of building materials.
“When this project is completed, it would open up these communities; connect Nasarawa State and Benue; farmers would benefit from the movement and transportation of their farm produce.
“I am optimistic that we would get this project completed in 2018,” Mr. Fashola noted.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Loko-Oweto Bridge contract was awarded to RCC Nig. Ltd. in November 2011 at N36. 1 billion with original completion date of Nov. 15, 2015.
The project was stalled in 2014 due to lack of funding and currently, at a revised contract sum of N51.6 billion, the project is scheduled for completion in 2018.

1 year of APC's government is far better than the 15 years of PDP's

How?. Is it with the fuel scarcity we have been witnessing, or the current hardship in the country, or the removal of subsidy, or the lack of job, lack of electricity and increase in tariff and security challenges not to mention others. I am sure you are one of the very few beneficiary of this government and your view does not represent the majority of the people who are suffering. I pray as a concern citizen that God helps this government to get it right.

Honestly I am beginning to feel that this government is confused as this is exactly what they should have done before this pipeline destruction that has further brought more hardship to the people
It's Nothing New cool cool cool cool

80% of Nigeria income was from crude oil, now oil price has dropped from $140 to $40... We are surely paying the price of our past and current political leaders for not diversifying our Economy.

This is just basic secondary school economics cool cool cool

It's now left for Buhari to improve on what we have and try diversifying into Agriculture and other sectors of the economy cool cool cool

We must not depend on oil money before we can diversify. The right economic policy is just the trick. Many developed countries like Japan don't have mineral resources not to talk of having oil, but see where they are today
Politics / Re: Fulani Herdsmen Kill 40 In Enugu by OYELLOLO: 9:24pm On Apr 26, 2016
This is totally un acceptable. Where were the security personnel when this herdsmen were moving about with dangerous weapons? Honestly there is a lot of probing that needs to be done. Our president and government together with the security operatives have failed in their responsibility towards securing the lives and properties of innocent people. Please wake up and stop this unnecessary bloodshed.

obailala:
Still on external forces mounting pressure on Nigeria to devalue its currency. Since the 80's this has always been the advice to African countries. Nigeria has devalued and devalued and devalued from N1 = $1 to the present N200 = $1 but has all these devaluations in the last 30 years ever helped Nigeria?

And you think devaluing will miraculously take care of the sufferings we are subjected to at present because some oyibo economics textbooks says so?... How much foreign investments can possibly come in instantly to counter the prevalent scarcity of forex?.... With sky-high oil prices and excess forex in the NIgerian system between 2010-2014, how much of forex was really introduced into the country by these 'foreign investors'?.... If they couldn't help or impact so much in Nigeria when the going was good, how are we so sure that if we devalue , enough investors would rush in to help the Nigerian economy now that things are bad?

Are you not aware that the naira is indirectly devalued with prices of essential commodities skyrocketing by the day. Who and who has access to the official exchange rate being discussed here? Please let's stop deceiving ourselves.

And why should a male doctor operate on a female patient in the first fûcking place

Why do we have female doctors?

Go to any medical school in this country, the population of female medical students is always 50% or higher to the male's population.

I CAN NEVER ALLOW MY WIFE TO VISIT A MALE GYNECOLOGIST.

WHERE ARE ALL THE FÚCKING FEMALE DOCTORS?

What about if the female doctor is a lesbian
