Gionee has officially announced the Mini variant of its flagship smartphone, the Elife E7. The E7 Mini comes with a rotatable camera module, which was first seen on the Oppo N1a while ago. The folks atFoneArenahave managed to get their hands on the Gionee Elife E7 Mini and you can check some live photos below.
The Elife E7 sports a 4.7-inch HD display and is powered by the MediaTek MT6592 chipset with 1.7 GHz octa-core processor and 1 GB of RAM. The device features a 13 megapixel swivel camera, 16 GB of inbuilt storage, dual-SIM support and the usual set of connectivity options.
Gionee's latest addition packs a non-removable 2,100mAh battery and comes to you with a price tag of about $307.

The wait for Samsung to officially announce the first Tizen smartphone might be over soon. The Korean company, in cooperation with Intel (also a member of the Tizen alliance) have sent out invites for a press event in February. More specifically, it's going to take place a day before the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona officially kicks off.
The invite doesn't specify the type of device that both companies will unveil, but it does say Samsung will show off Tizen OS running on actual devices. The event will also offer a glimpse at "the major milestones that the Tizen project has hit since last year's event."
According to analyst Geoff Blaber ofCCS Insight, Samsung has to show commercial devices at the Mobile World Congress. This would solidify Samsung's mobile foundation, and give it a backup to its smartphone business in case Android takes a turn for the worse.
Back in November, 36 companies chose to back Tizen, including Panasonic, eBay, Sharp, McAfee, and Intel just to name a few. For a look at Tizen OS and what sort of features it brings to the table, you can check out this developer hands-on video.
We'll find out more about what new stuff Samsung and Intel have been cooking up on February 23 when the event is scheduled. Mobile World Congress 2014 will take place in Barcelona from February 24 through 27, so be sure to check back with us then for full coverage.

Facebook has introduced a new set of stickers for the Facebook Messenger service. These are all variations of the famous Facebook Like icon showing a thumbs up gesture, with the hand showing other gestures, including a much requested thumbs down or Dislike gesture that Facebook would probably never implement on their site. So you can’t yet Dislike a post but now you can at least send them a sticker on Messenger.
For those not aware of Facebook stickers (or are possibly embarrassed to admit), these are small static or animated images that you can insert in your chat. They come in packs with a particular theme, such as the Pusheen pack or the Cut the Rope pack and you have to download them from within the Messenger app to use them in your chat. This feature isn’t particularly new and several IM apps have been using it for a while now but Facebook only introduced it earlier this year.
You will find the new Likes pack in the store section of Facebook Messenger sticker drawer.
