Despite the financial strength and political machinery on their side, they still lost.

This time around, it would not be politically strategic or wise for him to accept a nomination unless there are clear, realistic calculations that point to a genuine chance of victory. Otherwise, it may be better for him to maintain his 'CHAMPION' as a respected statesman.
