Selena Gomez may consider getting back together with Justin Bieber after her split from The Weekend, multiple sources exclusively tell Us Weekly. “The ball is in Selena’s court right now,” a source close to Gomez reveals. “She was happy with The Weeknd but Justin always has the biggest piece of her heart. This situation is a heartstring type of thing. She has to figure out what she wants.” As for Bieber? “Justin really wants to get back with Selena,” a second insider tells Us. “He has been texting her nonstop and hangs out with her whenever he can. Selena insisted that they were just friends and that The Weeknd had nothing to worry about, but she can’t deny that she still loves Justin. He had such a big piece of her heart and was such a huge part of her life for so long. She can’t just let him go.” The “Wolves” songstress, 25, and the “Love Yourself” crooner, 23, have been spotted together on several occasions in the past week. Sources previously told Us that they rekindled their friendship a few months after her kidney transplant earlier this year. However, Us confirmed on Monday, October 30, that Gomez and The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) had called it quits after nearly 10 months of dating. Though “Selena was happy with Abel,” the first source tells Us, “Justin always had her heart and attention. He was always her soulmate and her one true love. Selena and Justin realized it was time to grow past their history and move on. They’ve grown up a lot in the past couple of years and are mature about the situation.” While things are still platonic right now, things can “change at any moment.” Meanwhile, the “Same Old Love” singer is also busy focusing on her health. “I don’t think her mind is on dating again right now,” a third source says. “She has no intentions of going right into another relationship. She’s really happy right now and in a good place. But of course, Justin and Selena have a special place in each other’s hearts.” Because of that, Gomez isn’t rushing into any decisions just yet. “It’s definitely a possibility that they could get back together,” the first source reiterates. “It’ll be a long situation and there wont be a decision made tomorrow, and It’ll be a lot of back and forth, but ultimately, they’re friends think it will end up in that direction.” Gomez and Bieber dated on and off from 2011 to 2014. Prior to his romance with the “Bad Liar” singer, The Weeknd, 27, dated model Bella Hadid from May 2015 to November 2016. http://www.streetfolded.com/2017/10/selena-gomez-believes-justin-bieber-is.html?m=1

Star artist Davido has come under fire over the mysterious death of three of his crew members. He lost one of his crew members, Tagbo Umeike on his birthday last week Tuesday the 3rd of October 2017. About 4 days later, two of his crew members, Chime Amaechi and Olugbenga Abiodun were found dead in a BMW car in Banana Island Lagos. The mystery surrounding the deaths of his 3 crew members has forced critics to accuse him of using them as human sacrifice. The last two victims of untimely death in Davido’s camp were said to have vomited blood, which raised another suspicion of occult killings. All these mysteries happened several months after Davido was caught wearing a jacket with “ all seeing eyes” a popular Illuminati symbol in one of his videos. Days after the mysterious deaths, Davido won the artist of the year award while his song ‘IF’ was picked as the song of the year at 2017 Africa Muzik Awards and Music Festival that held in Dallas Texas. Autopsy is still being conducted on the deceased to determine the exact cause of their untimely deaths. http://www.streetfolded.com/2017/10/davido-accused-of-using-3-of-his-crew.html?m=1

Hot Citizen TV news anchor Lilian Muli has sparked heated debates online after publicly declaring that she cannot date a man who already has a baby. According to the beautiful Citizen TV news anchor,Men who have kids from their previous relationships only bring baggage and a lot of drama to deal with, major among them-Baby mama dramas. In a long Instagram post,Lilian said she cannot deal with men who have baby mamas since she has no time for constant competition with the other woman. The revered TV journalist could not wrap up her post without advising fellow ladies over the same.Lilian Muli urged fellow ladies to avoid such men at all cost, claiming it would save them unnecessary drama and stalking. However,Lilian Muli's post did not settle down well with a cross section of Kenyans who held that she was wrong.According to most of them who commented on her post,no one should be discriminated against because of their children. Quite a number used her as an example by asking her what she would have done if her new man had the same mentality. From Reports earlier,Lilian Muli began a new relationship with a man who we are yet to put a face to. It should be noted that Lilian Muli is a mother of one having walked out of her marriage where she cited irreconcilable differences. With that said, her statement just acted as an insult to herself. http://www.streetfolded.com/2017/10/citizen-tv-lilian-muli-explains-why-she.html?m=1

The Initiator and Chairman, Movement for Nigeria’s Total Transformation, Chief Areoye Oyebola, has decried the non-responsiveness of Nigerian federal lawmakers to the widespread call for the downward review of their “monumental salaries and allowances.” According to Oyebola, the recent criticism of the federal legislators by the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), was just one of many criticisms that had trailed the lawmakers over the years but to which they had turned deaf ears. He recalled that he had raised the same issue in a publication, tagged, “Grave Issues Nigeria Must Tackle,” which was publicly presented at a gathering that had in attendance eminent Nigerians such as a former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola(SAN); human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN); and Prof. Pat Utomi. Oyebola had, in the presentation, decried what he described as the insensitivity of the lawmakers, who he said, were living large in the midst of widespread poverty in the country. He noted then that the earnings of the United States of America’s President were far lower than what a Nigerian lawmaker took home. He had said, “It is also strange, unthinkable and very disheartening that a senator, not minding the grinding poverty of Nigerians, earns $1.7m a year, which is far higher than the $400,000 yearly income of the United States’ President, whose stupendous country is the richest in the world. Even a member of the House of Representatives also earns more than the American President. What a tragic and pathetic situation! “Worse still, each of our National Assembly members earns more than the British Prime Minister, while the pay of a member of Ghana’s unicameral legislature is a very small fraction of our House of Representatives’ member jumbo pay of more than N10m in a month, let alone the monumental quarterly allowances that have led to serious public outcry. http://www.streetfolded.com/2017/10/nigerian-senators-earn-more-than-donald.html?m=1

In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said Nigerians should disregard the report which, apparently, is being spread by some unscrupulous persons to fit into a sinister agenda. ”The Federal Government has not conducted any free medical service or care in either Bayelsa or Rivers state, as alleged in the fake report being circulated. So that could not have been the cause of the outbreak of Monkey Pox in both states. “Monkey Pox is a virus found only in monkeys and it is rare in human beings. It belongs to the same family as Chicken Pox and Smallpox. ”It is suspected that someone may have contacted it by eating monkey meat, thus triggering the current outbreak,” the Minister said. He assured that no effort will be spared in curtailing the spread of the disease. http://www.streetfolded.com/2017/10/fg-denies-injecting-of-monkeypox-virus.html?m=1

Alhaji Ibrahim Jega, Executive Secretary, Abuja National Mosque Management Board, on Friday urged the Youth not to support anything that would divide the country. Jega gave the advice shortly after a Special National Prayer organised by the Forum of Chairmen of States, National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN) at the Mosque in Abuja. The executive secretary also advised them against being used as thugs by desperate politicians who would do anything to get to positions of authourity. He stressed the need for leaders of all youths organisations to make concerted efforts toward ensuring that they remained united for the peace and development of the country. “The youth should not support anything that is intended to divide this country or any community. It is God almighty that put us together and we will continue to be together. “ My advice to you is that you take into consideration all that you have to do to get the youth united for peaceful coexistence and development of this nation. “ God almighty in his own wisdom put this country together. I don’t believe in the assertion that Nigeria came into being by accident; it is not true. “ It is by divine design. It is the creation of God to put Hausa, Yoruba, Ibibio, Efik, Ijaw, Tiv, Kanuri and Fulani together. “ It is not an accident for us to come together, God created us to be together and so shall we remain,” Jega said. The executive secretary also urged the youth to prioritise their educational pursuit that would make them to be useful to themselves and the society. “What I mean is that the youth should work for the certificate in which they will be awarded. “ For instance, if you have first class in Chemistry let it be first class Degree in Chemistry when it comes to putting things into practice,” he said. Similarly, the cleric urged the youth to shun drugs or substance abuse, adding that drug abuse was not just destroying the youth but also destroying children. Jega advised all relevant government agencies saddled with the responsibility of fighting drug abuse to be more proactive in tackling the menace of substance abuse. "Any nation that doesn’t control drug abuse or rates of drug abuse by the youth that country will never develop. “ There is no country in the world that can neglect its youths in whatever affairs and make progress as a nation,” he said. Mr Sukubo Sara-Igbe, Chairman, Forum of States Chairmen, National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN) called for love and tolerance among diverse ethic nationalities in Nigeria, especially the youth. http://www.streetfolded.com/2017/10/jega-advices-all-nigerian-youths-not-to.html?m=1

The Aids Health Care Foundation (AHF), an NGO, said on Saturday that it would distribute 330,000 sanitary pads to young girls in six states of the federation including FCT. The NGO said the distribution of the pads would be done in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs. Mr Steve Aborisade, Advocacy and Marketing Manager of the foundation, who disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, identified the other five states as Benue, Kogi, Nassarawa, Cross river, and Anambra. Aborisade said the distribution would begin on Oct.11 among young girls in rural communities, schools and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in commemoration of the International Day of the girl-child. NAN reports that the International Day of the Girl-Child is celebrated on Oct.11 annually. He noted that the gesture by AHF was aimed at empowering and supporting young girls while developing their capacity and leadership skills as most girls in Africa were extremely disadvantaged. Aborisade said: “In AHF, we believe in giving every child every means necessary to reach their great potentials. “Most often young girls in Africa have to skip school and stay home simply because they cannot afford to buy sanitary pads during their menstrual periods. “Something so natural and integral to a growing woman’s development should not be a barrier to her success or meant as an embarrassment or shame.” He added that the empowerment of young girls could have a long-lasting impact on them in relation to their studies, health, and lifestyle. http://www.streetfolded.com/2017/10/ahf-to-distribute-330000-sanitary-pads.html?m=1

The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo, yesterday, said restoration of Biafra is not an Igbo agenda, insisting that restructuring of the polity remains the position of Ndigbo in the ongoing debate about the future of Nigeria. He made this known at Umuahia, in his address at the third inauguration of the state and local government executives of the Abia State chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. The position of Ohanaeze as expressed by Nwodo, is at variance with that of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), which is campaigning for the restoration of Biafra through a referendum for self-determination. The Ohanaeze leader said restoration of Biafra was “a tall order” given the constitutional roadblocks and would not be in the overall interest of the Igbo in their socio-economic and political relationship with other Nigerians. http://www.streetfolded.com/2017/10/restoration-of-biafra-is-not-igbo.html?m=1

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office says they have made an arrest in a burglary dating back to mid-March. Investigators got some lab results back from testing that, they say, confirms the thief’s identity. James Marlon White, 35, is charged with burglary, and is being held on $10,000 bond. Investigators were called to Section Line Road for a burglary on March 16th. The homeowner told investigators White forced his way through a walk-out basement door and took a shotgun he found in the home. The homeowner confronted the burglar, and the man dropped the gun and ran out of the basement door. Investigators say the man vomited on his way out of the house. Investigators sent a sample of the vomit to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for DNA testing. The results from that test, received by the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, confirmed the burglar’s identity as James Marlon White. http://www.streetfolded.com/2017/10/thiefs-vomit-in-alabama-burglary-leads.html?m=1

The Southeast should forget the agitation for Biafra, Ohanaeze Ndigbo said yesterday. The Igbo should work towards the restructuring of Nigeria. “We should forget Biafra and insist on restructuring. There is no Igbo person that is happy with the situation of things in Nigeria. We must seek peaceful ways of resolving the issues,” Ohanaeze President John Nwodo said. He spoke in Umuahis during the inauguration of the state and local government executives of the Abia State chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. Nwodo said elders warned Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu against the manner he was going about his agitation for Biafra, but he did not listen. To the Ohanaeze leader, restoration of Biafra was a tall order, given the constitutional roadblocks which, he said, will not be in the overall interest of Ndigbo in their socio-economic and political relationships with other Nigerians. He said while youths were justified in expressing their anger at Ndigbo’s marginalisation in national affairs, Nwodo said they should moderate their actions and words. Hate speeches would not resolve any problem, Nwodo said. The Ohaneze leader spoke of how elders told Kanu and his other IPOB members to tone down their words and desist from denigrating people and groups. He also said Kanu was told that his insistence on Biafra and boycott of the November 18 election in Anambra State were not acceptable to Ndigbo, hence he should abandon his rigid position and join in the quest for restructuring. Nwodo justified the proscription of IPOB by the Governors Forum, explaining that what the state chief executives did was to stop IPOB from engaging in its public activities that could spark fatal clashes with security agencies. He said without the action taken by the governors of the Southeast, that the zone would still have been engulfed in bloodshed, adding that he would not sit by and allow the youth to be cut down prematurely. Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu said Nigeria and the world were passing through perilous times, hence the need to seek peace. Ikpeazu said: “We believe in justice, equity and fairness. I believe in ‘live and let live’, as nobody delights in being oppressed.” He advised Igbo youths to respect leaders and listen to advice of elders instead of embarking on agitation to express their frustration. Ikpeazu said henceforth, youths and any Igbo person or group with grievances should complain to Ohaneze which is in a position to take the matter up with the appropriate authorities. Abia State President of Ohaneze, Mr. Chimaobim Ajuzieogu said the organisation would “no longer sit on the fence; neither shall we continue to observe as spectators in the affairs that affect us”. Ajuzieogu said the new leadership of Ohaneze in the state would strive hard to restore the value system of Ndigbo through massive media campaigns, adding that Nwodo should be praised for the “revivalist strategy” he had adopted. Elder statesman Emmanuel Adaelu, who chaired the occasion, called for unity among Ndigbo, saying that the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo should be recognised as the voice of the Igbo and no group should try to usurp that authority. Nwodo also expressed dismay over the spate of hate speech on social media platforms by Igbo youths under the guise of agitating for Biafra. He said making inciting speeches was capable of causing crisis which could lead to mass violence in the nation, adding that it was pertinent to respect constituted authorities. Nwodo said the first hand experience that he had during the civil war had given him an understanding of the throes of war, adding that no nation had fought two wars and survived. “There are 11.6 million Igbo people living in the North and it will be wise for Igbo people living in the South-East and elsewhere to put them into consideration while speaking or engaging in certain activities. “I urge Igbo youths to desist from activities and comments that could spark violence in the nation. At the moment what Igbo people need to fight for is restructuring of the nation. “Ohanaeze is in an era of transparency. I assure you that we have not relented in speaking for the Igbo people, especially in the area of restructuring for the benefit of Igbo people.” http://www.streetfolded.com/2017/10/the-igbos-should-forget-biafra-and.html?m=1

A former Publisher of Newswatch, Mr Ray Ekpu, says the discovery of crude oil in Nigeria 61 years ago in the old Rivers State is the root of the country’s main problem. He said this known while speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s breakfast show Sunrise Daily, two days after the nation marked its 57th Independence anniversary. “In 1956, we had a good fortune or so we thought, of discovering oil in Oloibiri, present day Bayelsa State and two years later (1958), we started exporting oil. “I think that is where we started courting trouble because we had easy money. We had some white people who came to dig the ground, bring the oil and sell it for us and we did nothing after that.” The veteran journalist, who observed that Nigeria has an advantage when compared to other countries rich in both natural and human resources, called for the revival of agriculture. He said, “We still have so much (resources). There are not many countries in the world that are as rich in mineral resources, solid and liquid and manpower as Nigeria. “If I take a historical approach to our trajectory as a country, I will say in the immediate pre-independence period, we were self-sufficient and we only relied on agriculture. “We fed ourselves, we even exported cotton, cocoa, palm oil, kernel, rubber and so on. We employed 80 percent of our population.” Unfortunately, the good times during which General Yakubu Gowon as head of state “had to pay salaries for workers in the Caribbean” didn’t last according to Mr Ekpu. “Today, we are looking for who will pay salaries to our own staff,” he said. “About 13 states cannot pay the salaries of their staff and the pension benefits of their retirees. So that is the irony of our situation,” lamenting that the nation has spurned the sector.” The former Newswatch boss wondered why issues of agitation would arise across the polity considering the large deposits of resources. It's because of the catalan independence crisis |
Barcelona will play without the backing of their fans for a second successive match over ticketing problems ahead of their La Liga clash with Atletico Madrid. Amid growing tensions between Spain and Catalonia, La Blaugrana issued a statement on their website on Wednesday evening revealing that "logistical problems" meant their away following would not be able to buy tickets to watch their heroes in action at Wanda Metropolitano. Barca and Atletico are due to face one another in the Spanish capital on 14th October but, following their clash behind closed doors against Las Palmas last Saturday, the Catalan giants will not be vociferously backed by their supporters for yet another league encounter. The statement read: "Due to logistical problems in the new Wanda Metropolitano stadium, Atletico de Madrid cannot supply the tickets previously offered to FC Barcelona supporters clubs ahead of La Liga match on Saturday 14th of October (8.45pm CET). "Therefore, all FC Barcelona supporters clubs ticket applications for the above match have been cancelled." The issue is the latest in the massive feud currently being played out on the world stage between Spain and its north-eastern territory of Catalona after the latter held a referendum - deemed illegal by Spain's courts - over voting whether or not to claim independence from the rest of the Iberian peninsula-based nation. Around 750,000 Catalans protested on Wednesday after violence marred the actual vote taking place on Sunday as Spanish riot police tried - and somewhat successfully - prevented some Catalans from voting 'yes' or 'no' at a variety of polling stations in the district. Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont has clashed with King Felipe of Spain and the country's prime minister Mariano Rajoy over the validity of the referendum, and the former has already stated that Catalonia will secede from Spain and their rule in the coming days. Barcelona, who played on the day of the referendum, had attempted to postpone their game against Las Palmas but, after that request was thrown out, secured a 3-0 victory in an empty Camp Nou stadium as a result. Brazilian investigators claim Nuzman helped arrange a $2 million bribe to get the games for Rio de Janeiro. Leonardo Gryner, a former director of the national Olympics committee, was also arrested in a new phase of the so-called Unfair Play investigation, the police said. In September, police raided Nuzman’s home, accusing him of conspiring with politicians to buy the right to host the 2016 games. A Houston man who authorities say had repeatedly assaulted his mother remained in jail Monday after prosecutors allege he decapitated her and inflicted several nonfatal stab wounds on his father at their home, where he was barred from being. Kyriakos Savvas Georghiou's mother had a protective order in place and he wasn't supposed to be at the parents' house, prosecutors said. He had been accused of punching the 76-year-old woman in the face in April. His attorney, Jeffrey Wilner, said Georghiou's parents posted his $10,000 bail in the assault case last month and were getting him mental health treatment at a facility in Houston. Georghiou had been in jail since June for the alleged assault. "The mother loved him. His dad loved him. ... I'm just in shock," Wilner said Monday, adding that he "would have called the police and told his dad not to bond him out" if he had any idea that Georghiou would be a danger to his family. Georghiou, 27, allegedly went to his parents' house on Friday and started stabbing Jane Georghiou, said Carvana Cloud, a prosecutor with the district attorney's office in Harris County, Texas. When Costas Georghiou tried to protect his wife, he was stabbed several times in the face and chest, Cloud said. Kyriakos Georghiou left his parents' home and his father went to get help. But Georghiou came back with a second knife while the father was away, the prosecutor said. "He continues to stab his mother to the point where he kills her and her head is severed from her body," Cloud said. Georghiou's father was hospitalized in critical condition after the attack. His condition has been upgraded to fair, hospital officials said Monday. Georghiou is being held without bond on charges of murder and aggravated assault on a family member. He has a court appearance scheduled for Thursday. At the time of the stabbing attack, Georghiou's bond had been revoked by a judge after he missed a court hearing last week in the assault case in which he faced a charge of injury to an elderly individual for allegedly punching his mother inside his car in April and knocking out one of her front teeth. It was the second time that Georghiou had been arrested for an assault on his mother. In 2014, he was sentenced to three years in state prison after pleading guilty to a charge of injury to an elderly individual for punching his mother, leaving her with broken teeth and a swollen left eye. He also had prior arrests for drug possession and aggravated robbery. Wilner said Georghiou "loved his mother" and that his parents had struggled for years to get him help for his mental health issues. "They tried everything they could for him," the attorney said. Georghiou's parents bailed him out of jail on Sept. 6. "I thought everything was OK when he bonded out," Wilner said. Cloud said investigators are still determining a motive for the stabbing attack. Although Georghiou's parents posted his bail, Jane Georghiou had a protective order in place that barred him from the mother and father's home. "Obviously we can't be with every victim throughout the day or night or when they are having interactions with family members or loved ones," Cloud said. "We don't have a crystal ball." http://www.streetfolded.com/2017/10/man-decapitates-mother-and-stabbed.html?m=1

Three college students were killed by an express train Tuesday while taking photos of themselves on a track in India, the country with the world’s worst record for selfie deaths. The three were photographing themselves on a railway bridge when the train hit them in the town of Bidadi in the southern state of Karnataka, police said. “We found their mutilated bodies on the track and investigations have been taken up,” R S Bylanjaiah, a local railway police officer, told AFP. He said the three had parked their motorbikes on the embankment below the 30-metre (100 foot) bridge before walking to its centre to take pictures. Last month a man was crushed to death by an elephant when he tried to take a selfie with him in the eastern state of Odisha. A study by scholars from Carnegie Mellon University and Indraprastha Institute of Information Delhi found that of 127 reported selfie deaths worldwide from March 2014 to September 2016, 76 of them occurred in India. Last November three students died while trying to take a selfie in front of an oncoming train in northern India. Another student died while clicking a picture on a cliff edge that broke off, sending him plunging to his death into a ravine. Last year the federal government asked states to ensure there were warning signs at tourist spots deemed dangerous for selfie-lovers. India’s financial capital Mumbai declared 16 no-selfie zones after several deaths at those locations. http://www.streetfolded.com/2017/10/three-students-crushed-by-train-when.html?m=1

The candidate of the United Progressives Party, UPP, in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State, Osita Chidoka, has called for the creation of one more state in the South East. This was part of a statement made available to newsmen by his campaign Director Media, Viola Ifeyinwa Okolie, where he also declared that there are no terrorists in the southeast. According to him, people of the region do not feel terrorized. During his statement he said“My election as governor of Anambra State will start off with a single agenda; an agenda to secure a new state for the southeast region to bridge the disparity we face. “We will immediately, upon inauguration, in line with Section. 8 (1) of the 1999 constitution get our National Assembly members from Anambra state, our elected House of Assembly members, and local government chairmen to sign a request to the National Assembly asking for a referendum for the sixth Southeast state. “We will vigorously engage our friends from other states in the National Assembly and other states House of Assembly for a new state.Nigeria must take a decision on the issue of additional state for the southeast before the end of tenure of the 8th Assembly and the 2019 election.” The governorship aspirant insisted that there were no terrorists in the southeast, adding that the nation should not regard the Igbo’s quest for self determination as terrorism. “We cannot build a great nation without unity at home. We cannot be a nation where people are hated, branded and then hounded and ostracized. “We stand here to declare that there are no terrorists in our state; there are no terrorists in our region and we do not feel terrorized as a people. “Indeed, without further argument, we do not believe that those who are asking for a restructured Nigeria or even for dismemberment of Nigeria are terrorists. “No! They are not.” Source: http://www.streetfolded.com/2017/10/the-nation-should-not-regard-igbos.html?m=1 |
