My purpose of visit was to visit my sister and kids who recently just got PR and I could not see them while they left because I was studying in the United States
Plus lots of prayer

You stand a Good chance based on what you submitted but the ultimate decision lies in the VO.

Your purpose of travel, i.e.. flight and accomodation booking , how long did you propose to stay? did you book return ticket ?

At first I didn’t add the bank reference letter in my application when submitting, will printing out the same bank statement alsongside the public notary be sufficient to convince the consular my account is legit in this case?

Please I just got a passport request for my mum in Port Harcourt. What are the documents needed to be submitted to the VAC in Abuja?
We would like to mail the passport to them. So which courier service do you think is better for this and does VAC send back the stamped passport to her? If yes, do we need to pay anything for this service or we just attach a return envelope to the passport when mailing it out?
Please note the only option we have now is to mail out the passport.

DHL or UPS to send to VAC

Go to VFS global site to book the courier service to send passport to your home when done. and yes it's not free, try and contact vfs by email, phone or webchat before doing this.

Is it possible for one to go for biometrics without international passport cos Passport is with another embassy. She has a copy of the data page. Anyone?

I think they still need to sight your passport, normally you go with your passport and coloured photocopy, they give you back your passport and photocopy after biometrics has been completed. this is for online application, however, it's not out of place to try going with the photocopy provided it's legible enough, who knows, having explained yourself genuinely the officer in charge may pardon, since details needed are on the photocopy as well

it was my agent that filled it for me.. my purpose of visit is Christmas vacation. my bank account and reference letter is legit from first bank... with 9million on it.

Probably, your agent didn't know you have been denied before, so he filled in No, you should fill the form this time, and write a letter of explanation, how the agent filled it in error, and also explain reasons US denied you last year.

Hello House, I applied for travel visa since Jane 1, 2019. I'm yet to hear from them. I sent mails, I was told to be patient. So I decided to withdraw the application. Is there any consequences in future if I want to apply again?

I dont want to think there is any consequence other than you may have to explain why you withdrew your last application when next you are applying.
It maybe be a red flag if you withdrew your application before the average processing time back then, however if it was withdrawn after the normal processing time then you don't have a problem

I submitted an application for my mum to come visit on the 4th of Nov and she got the biometrics request letter on the 5th. She did the biometrics on the 12th and yesterday she got an email from VFS that reads :
Visa application, tracking ID No. has been received at the Lagos OC VAC on 2019-11-14 09:57:28 AM GMT Standard Time and is on transit to the IRCC Office in Lagos OC ,for processing. Please note this is an auto generated e.mail. Please do NOT reply to this email.

It's confusing because she hasn't submitted her passport neither has she gotten PPR. I'd appreciate it if anyone who has experienced this will help me out.

I believe you are on course, you don't need to panic, this may be a new development from the November 2nd update on their services.

What steps should I take to follow up with VFS?

So sorry to hear, this purpose of visit as a reason for refusal has been reoccurring too much on this forum, if we don't mind, all those who got visas going for conference or other purposes should contribute so that it will be a thing of the past.

@Enick was it a conference or tourism or something else? did you submit any invitation letter ? was there any other information submitted under invitation ? Was it an online or paper application?

Startup visa is the best canada visa, a very good pof band 5 is all thats needed.

They give pr within weeks

Its for big business peeps with about CAD $200,000 minimum for Venture capital for example

Hi nairalanders, hope our day aint stressful, so I have another update on my application.

I got 3 ghost mails yesterday. so I went down for passport collection. I have picked them up.
Things to note, @Angie32, it was London that processed the application however it was stamped in Lagos.

*How do I know this, London is boldly written as place of issue.
*Secondly, why I feel it was stamped in Lagos is because, Vfs sent mails saying passport was sent from the VAC to Lag office, and when it was stamped they sent it back to the VAC.
*Then the visa start date is the day your review of eligibility ends and the visa spans till a day to passport expiry.
*submitted passports Nov 6, picked up on the 13th.. which is 8days rightly, or 5 working days cos Saturday and Sunday is weekend and Monday public holiday.
*So in total this online application took 57days.

Hope this helps us all, especially online applications.

I've been trying to start my online application,when I get to the point to acces the application form,it says my Mac os can't access it,do I need another computer to be able to access the form?
Secondly... my husband is the main applicant(he has everything they may require for home ties e.g., good job,land and house papers),me being the spouse and not working,(unemployed)does that affect our home ties? If so what do i do to show that I'm coming back,I mean home ties,I'm running my business but nothing official(no cac document)

@fatima, do you have children ? if yes, are they in school ? if yes, you can upload as supporting documents, a family pic, evidence that they are in school , maybe tuition reciept or report cards, their birth certificates, you can upload your Nigerian school certificates , is your business viable, if yes, show statement of account, get customers to write a letter of acknowledgement or sales invoices etc, then finally a letter of explanation stating why your business isn't registered and how you are about to register it. you could say it was very small and you were testing the waters before it's started to blossom, stuff like that... good luck. basically your aim is to convince the Vo that you have something to attend to here in naija than to remain over there.

As for accessing the forms download the latest pdf, I dunno of mac, but for Windows adobe x will do...

These are just my opinion, hope it helps....

You are right this ppl are just bully around what is the diff between 63 & 72 when student visa process now is 6weeks ....imagine what are they process when someone wait for 90days still know result yet what kind of verification is that chai I don't trust our Kenya VO at all abeg London VO take over oooooo

I taya for them, the reason TRV visa takes more scrutiny is because many violate the visit visa policy, when peeps no see headway, for PNP, EE, AIPP, etc dem go come get TRV to see whether dem fit use am jakpa...

But still, it's not meant to take long....

Yeah, very true. I believe the timing only improved with online applications so far. It should get better I think cause a lot of people do not necessarily want to travel during winter hence reduction in applications. #myopinion

Really, it's good the timing is coming down but is this thing actually realistic ?
Its true that the pace has picked up but we are still seeing paper applications of 90 + days, maybe this represents online applications only....
I hope it drops even more to 15 - 20 days just like other countries.
