Hello House,

My name is Nnamdi, I studied Petroleum Engineering in Nigeria, I am currently doing my masters in Oil and Gas Engineering at UWA, I have been reading this trend for a while and I have really enjoyed the way we help each other on this platform, Anyways I would like to get an advise as to how I can go about with my PR plans.

Three weeks ago, I noticed that Petroleum Engineering was added to MLTSSL but @bellong and others explained that it doesn't mean we can apply as skilled independent (189).

So my question to the house is please, what other way can I go about this residency issue.....I appreciate any opinion.

Thanks guys

Thanks for the info bruh!! I just have to questions

1) in the event where you are apply for a course without prior knowledge about SOL list and you so deep into the process (paying tuition and applying for visa) only to find out your course is on the CSOL list but not the SOL list although it's a 2years offer. What do u advise? No hope for PR at all?

2) please what's the exact amount/fee for student visa.

Regarding your first question, when you want to apply for PR, you can use your bachelor that is if it is in SOL list, but contrary to that, Just give it a try hopefully you will get work visa (4 years) and can apply for PR in the second year of your work visa. That's after your done with your plans. You can also ask some of the guru's here on nairaland.

2) As of the time i applied it was about 97k naira. but that was before July1st. So i don't know the current price.

But i thought aged care is not available again for international students or it's a lie?

It is still available in some states, not Western Australia.

Yeah, I am in Perth and have lived here for about 5 months now, and I think it's time to give back to this forum that helped me when i was in Naija.

If you have any question regarding life in Perth, feel free to ask me, and to my guys in naija planning is key, I advise you to plan yourself well especially (financially) to do some certification course like aged care, so you can be able to cope with expenses here in Australia.

Check SOL list before choosing a course for masters.

If your plan is to hustle, your best bet is join TAFE, forget masters (Nursing is the best Tafe COURSE)

And finally never give up on God, hand over your plan to Him and his directions.

Good morning people I am new here,I want to make inquiries,I would like to apply for masters in Australia,I want to know if they are schools that accept second class lower(Cgpa 3.46),also I want to know if they would require an application fee ,and if it is also possible to use my cousin accout as sponsor for visa application. Thanks.

I think most schools accept a CGPA of 65% in their scale, You can convert ur's by dividing (3.46/5) then multiply by 100, which means u have about 69% CGPA... You can apply in most schools. i had a similar GPA and got admission in UWA./

Sports / Barcelona Pays Tribute To Real Madrid Fans Who Died In Terror Attack by paka2016: 11:12pm On May 13, 2016
Following the appalling incidence that occurred today in Samarra by ISIS terror group on some Real Madrid supporters that has left 16 people dead and about 20 injured comes the tribute from their fellow Spanish football club Barcelona.

Barcelona might be a football rival to Real Madrid but a terror attack is an attack to humanity and all club stands against it.

“FC Barcelona expresses its sympathy for the victims of the attack in Iraq on the members of a Real Madrid supporters club,” the Catalan club said in an official statement.

Sports / It’s Shameful That Real Madrid Gave Alvaro Arbeloa Better Send Off Than Casillas by paka2016: 11:36pm On May 08, 2016
After Sunday evenings La Liga games, Atletico Madrid fell out of the title race meanwhile Barcelona and Real Madrid continued the race.

Barcelona thrashed neigbours Espanyol 5-0 while Real Madrid scaled through Valencia with a 3-2 victory.

Barcelona still have the edge in the title race but will have to win at Granada on Sunday to be crowned Champions however Real Madrid plan to upset the odds by winning Deportivo next week and hope Barcelona losses.

On the contrary that’s not the topic of the day, the main attractive talking point of Real Madrid’s win was the awesome send off they gave Alavro Arbeloa.

Arbeloa will not be renewing his contract with Real Madrid which will expire at the end of the season so he had a massive send off this evening.

Firstly he was greeted with a huge shirt by the Real Madrid support in the stands and when he came in for Cristiano Ronaldo in the 79th minute he also received a bump from his team-mates after the game.

Whilst we can understand that Arbeloa is a popular figure at Real Madrid, where he has been a true defender of the shirt, both on the pitch and social media, many have wondered why Iker Casillas got such a poor send off in comparison.

One of the stand out goalkeepers in Real Madrid’s history was forced to hold his own farewell press conference and was ushered out the door by Los Blancos.

Sports / Carles Puyol Picks The Most Intelligent Player He Played With And It's Not Messi by paka2016: 5:51pm On May 07, 2016
Known as a ‘one-club man’ after dedicating his entire career to Barcelona despite interest from several top clubs, Carles Puyol is a figure that is still greatly missed at the Camp Nou.

With over 700 games and at least 21 titles won during his time at Barcelona, Puyol won the hearts of the Camp Nou fans and is one of the true legends of both Catalonia and Spanish football.

Puyol spoke with The Players Tribune in a recent interview and one answer he gave to a question has really shocked the Barcelona fans.
The former defender was asked to pick the smartest player he has ever played with and considering the great stars he played with at Barcelona (Ronaldinho, Iniesta, Messi and so many more) you would think he would choose one of them. But instead he opted for his rival and Spanish national team-mate Raul Gonazalez.

Here are some of the questions and answers

The smartest guy I’ve ever played with is:

Raúl González.

The best penalty kick taker of all time is:

Ronald Koeman.

The weirdest instruction a manager has ever given me was…

I cannot tell you.

The one player I would have loved to play on a team with is …

Maldini

The funniest guy I’ve ever played with is

Gerard Piqué.

If I was not a footballer, my dream job would have been…

Sports Director.

Sports / The Reason Behind Aleix Vidal And Luis Enrique’s Cold War by paka2016: 10:12am On Apr 28, 2016
It’s now becoming glaring that there is something behind the constant exclusion of Aleix Vidal from Luis Enrique’s 18-man squad list irrespective of the full backs fitness level.

The last time Aleix Vidal was included in a squad list was on March 20 against Villarreal after which he picked up a slight injury which prevented him from facing Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad but since then he has recovered and trained well but instead of seeing a squad inclusion, Enrique decided to add Rafinha who just came back from a long term injury.

This Tuesday, the journalist Javi Miguel explained the reason of these absences as culled from Weloba , The origin can be found in the injury that prevented Vidal to play against At. Madrid and R. Sociedad. One the training session on April 4 ended, the first after the defeat against Real Madrid, some players (like Aleix Vidal or Jordi Alba) stayed on the pitch kicking a ball to score baskets, an activity out of control of the staff members and in which players bet some money.

After 4 or 5 shots, Aleix Vidal felt some discomfort and ended injured. Just one day before match vs At. Madrid and the trip to Anoeta to face Real Sociedad. So, one of the worst moments, with all the season at stake. When Luis Enrique knew it, he got really angry due to the absurdity of the injury, and decided to put Aleix Vidal in theblacklist.

http://www.soccerinfomania.com/reason-behind-aliex-vidal-luis-enriques-cold-war/

Apart from this episode, according to Javi Miguel, Vidal’s performance in the trainings after the injury dropped, something which doesn’t help recover trust of the coach.

Barcelona’s next game is away against Real Betis and that presents Luis Enrique with another opportunity to add Vidal to his 18-man squad list.

Sports / Barcelona Out Of Europe And This Is What Luis Enrique Had To Say by paka2016: 11:30pm On Apr 13, 2016
Atletico Madrid beat Barcelona 2-0 (3-2 Aggregate) at Vincente Calderon to pull through to the Champions League semi finals, a game that saw Antoine Griezmann score a brace to help the Madrid team through to the next round.

This is second time Barcelona are being eliminated by Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals in the past 3 years , Koke was the hero of the previous game back in 2014 while today Griezmann took over as the man of the match.

Luis Enrique didn’t have much to say but he insisted that ”Atletico Madrid deserved to win and that Barcelona have not had their best day, but in the second half we have had chances. It was not to be“.

Speaking on the unreachable treble, Luis said: “it was on objective that excited us, but we have to accept the defeat and move forward”

Finally he concluded by saying he won’t blame his players who has failed to prove tough in crucial times: “I can’t say anything bad about the attitude of my players”

Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu also commented on the defeat saying: “It was not to be, so no we have to switch our focus to the upcoming objectives”.

However the Champions League semi-finalist for 2015/2016 season are: Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

Sports / Karma:you Won’t Believe Pep Guardiola Tried To Sign Antoine Griezmann In 2011 by paka2016: 11:19pm On Apr 13, 2016
Antoine Griezmann who demolished Barcelona’s treble dream was on the radar to join Barcelona back in 2011.

Griezmann’s brace at Vincente Calderon was enough to eliminate Barcelona from the Champions League but the weird part of it is that Barcelona had the chance to sign the French striker back in 2011 when he was in Real Sociedad.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Pep Guardiola wanted to sign the Frenchman, who was then at Real Sociedad, for the Blaugranas’ reserve team.

In the summer of 2011, Guardiola managed to contact the player and Barça negotiate with his entourage. The problem was that Griezmann didn’t want to play for Barça B but for the first team. But Guardiola and the club had already agreed on a deal to incorporate Alexis Sánchez. Eventually, instead of signing Griezmann, Barça signed Kiko Femenía, a move that ended up being a total failure.”

Barcelona has finally paid the price for making such a wrong decision.

Sports / You Won’t Believe Jonjo Shelvey Of Newcastle Earns More Than Neymar by paka2016: 6:45pm On Apr 12, 2016
This news comes as surprise to me as a writer and as a football fan but funny enough it is true.

A news popped up on BBC’s daily gossip page with reports that compared the weekly wage of Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey and Barcelona striker Neymar.

The BBC’s website reported the following:
Newcastle would have to pay their 24-year-old midfielder Jonjo Shelvey £80,000 a week in the Championship, as they did not agree a wage cut in the event of relegation.

Neymar’s Barcelona contract has been leaked and it shows the 24-year-old Brazil forward earns £77,000 a week and has a £153m buy-out clause.

Jonjo Shelvey who according to Telegraph earns the above stated wage has played for both Swansea and Newcastle this season with just 1 goal in Premier League, while on the other hand Neymar, has scored 27 goals for Barcelona this season, and 11 just in this calendar year.

Maybe it’s because of the Tv right the Premier League get that made Jonjo earn more but it doesn’t make any sense in all ramification.
