So after lying grossly and hurting GTB's reputation, Innoson is retracting their lies because they fear that contempt of court charges for defaming the Supreme Court may be brought against them? This is so unprofessional and Innoson should pay grossly for this. #Innosonlied |

We all know the YBNL star as a talented singer and musician but what are the things he did to get him to where he is now? We had a brief chat with Adekunle Gold, and here are seven crazy things he did before becoming big. 1. While growing up, Adekunle sold his dog for N700 to buy a Mario game. Trust his African parents, he was beaten to a pulp. 2. He once sold CDs in traffic when he was part of The Bridge group. 3. He had such a crush on Tiwa Savage and Tolu ‘Toolz’ Oniru that he decided to Photoshop himself with them. 4. The first time he went to a club, he went along with gala and bottled water. 5. He once trekked from Maryland to Ikeja in order to save money for a studio session 6. He left his salary paying job (as a Brand Manager/Director) to pursue a career in music. 7. He paid a taxi driver man to pick up a lady to the movies while he trekked and was beaten by rain. After the movies, he had to call another taxi driver to pick up the lady while he took a bike home. http://thenet.ng/2016/07/7-crazy-things-adekunle-gold-did-before-making-it-big/

NET has exclusively gathered the real reason for the drama at the residence of Psquare this morning. As we reported earlier, policemen stormed the Square Ville residence of Psquare in Omole Lagos this morning causing a scene. Now we can exclusively reveal to you that there are no more policemen at the scene but we now have officers from the Ikeja High Court Lagos. Leader of the delegation who agreed to speak to NET anonymously said 'we are here to carry out a court injunction. Psquare were paid over 8million Naira for a show and they didn't show up for the show. Our job here is to enforce the court injunction and retrive the cash. Right now they say they are trying to transfer the money and that's why we are waiting'. They however refused to show our correspondent the court injunction or reveal the name of the client. This is coming on the heels of bitter social media fights between Peter Okoye and his brothers Paul and Jude. Many insiders have alleged recent events may lead to the end of Psquare as we know it. We are working to get comments from Psquare and their reps. www.thenet.ng

A DESPERATE SOS TO MR PRESIDENT Good day sir, We are using this medium to pass this message across to you because all other options of getting our message across have been exhausted. As you are aware, Nigeria is facing a big fiscal crisis due to falling oil and gas revenues and it is important now more than ever before to expand other sources of government revenue to make up the shortfall between revenues and government budgets. It is against this backdrop that a ruthless group of greedy and unscrupulous elements are attempting to drive the country over the financial precipice, with the unwitting or deliberate support of the Central Bank of Nigeria whose Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele has promulgated a number of policies that are destructive to Nigeria’s economic interest and financially ruinous to an already impoverished populace. Right now as you are reading this, there are several vessels at the Lagos port loaded with rice awaiting the CBN FORM M which is mandatory for large-scale forex transactions. These vessels will generate Customs revenues in excess of =N=6B, but the Emefiele-led CBN has refused to approve the FORM M Non-Valid For Forex. The automatic result of this is that these vessels will proceed to Cotonou in the neighbouring Republic of Benin and discharge their consignments. These consignments will then find their way back into Nigeria because Nigeria is the only country in West Africa with a high demand for parboiled rice. A lot of commodities that are supposed to be imported legitimately into Nigeria via the ports are being diverted to ports in Benin Republic and then brought into Nigeria through land borders such as Seme and Idiroko where Customs are conniving with agents to under-declare goods. For example, a truck loaded with 45tons of rice is to pay =N= 2.1M as Duty, but it will be rotated 4 times with just one Duty receipt. If the CBN will not allow Nigerian businessmen to conduct legitimate trade through our own ports which create jobs for millions in Nigeria, why are these commodities being allowed to find their way to Nigeria’s corrupt and porous land borders via Cotonou? Our investigations show that Stallion Group which owes Nigeria over =N=20B in unpaid rice Duties currently has four vessels discharging rice in Cotonou. This rice will eventually find its way into Nigeria after being massively under-declared at the borders, swindling our country of billions of Naira in revenues at a time when Nigeria is facing harsh financial austerity due to weakened government revenues. We strongly suggest that all businesses owned by Stallion / Popular Foods /Mascot Agro should be immediately shut down and investigated for corrupt and treasonous dealings. Nigerians are suffering. An already impoverished populace now has to contend with a 200% increase in the cost of a gallon of vegetable oil due to poor CBN policies, and the same is applicable to rice and other essential commodities. Various goods and commodities, which have been foreign exchange earners for Nigeria are no longer being exported due to the bad policies of the CBN. By incompetence or by active collaboration, Mr. Godwin Emefiele is enabling serial economic predators to destroy Nigeria’s economy and place the Nigerian people in even more difficulty. Stallion Group and other economic saboteurs who have made a business model out of cheating and stealing from Nigeria should be thoroughly investigated and the appropriate action should be taken against them. Mr. Godwin Emefiele should also be fired due to bad policies that are affecting the human security and economic well-being of all Nigerians. We trust you will do the right thing. Kind Regards A Group Of Concerned Nigerians |

A British Airways flight was forced to return to England because of a 'smelly poo' left in a toilet. Councillor Abhishek Sachdev, from Hertfordshire, says he was on the BA flight to Dubai when it was forced to return to Heathrow. It is understood that cabin crew unsuccessfully tried to fix the problem, but the flight was forced to turn around when the odour became unbearable for passengers. The Tory councillor, said the flight departed on time Thursday night and everything seemed fine until the captain made an announcement about 30 minutes after take-off when the seven-hour flight was over Belgium. Coun Sachdev told the Mail Online: "The pilot made an announcement requesting senior cabin crew, and we knew something was a bit odd. About 10 minutes later he said you may have noticed there’s a quite pungent smell coming from one of the toilets. He said it was liquid faecal excrement, those are the words he used. He said it’s not a technical fault with the plane, and he was very adamant about that." Passengers were then told that the plane would be forced to return to London for health and safety reasons, said Coun Sachdev. It is believed that passengers were due to board another flight, but what was due to be a three-hour wait turned into a 15 hour delay. A British Airways spokesperson told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: "We’re very sorry for the discomfort to our customers. We provided them with hotel accommodation and rescheduled the flight to depart the following day’s lunchtime on an alternative aircraft." Source: UK Mirror

I have decided to lend my voice to the call for sanctions against Dstv in Nigeria, despite the fact that I have been cautioned by a couple of entertainers that speaking up against the almighty cable network may result in the banning of my works on its network. Yes, it is true that challenging these multinationals in Nigeria attracts sanctions especially for entertainers, but I have decided to speak up because I am one of the millions of Nigerians affected by any increment in subscription charges. Moreover, what’s the point of having my works on a platform that my fans can’t afford? Every entertainer who’s chickened out of this campaign for his/ her selfish interest should know that the continuous indifference of Dstv to our plights over the years is a slap on the face of every Nigerian, inclusive of the entertainers themselves. These are the same entertainers that have complained of being shortchanged by Dstv for many years. Nigerian movie producers have complained of receiving peanuts for their works on the same network. Nawa ooo! Should anyone be afraid to express his/her dissatisfaction with a product he/ she is paying for? Let’s make Dstv understand that it is licensed to do business in Nigeria for none other reasons than providing value and the value it delivers has to justify the price charged. Otherwise, we will be persuaded to look for alternatives or invent our own like the Alaba boys are doing. No business can leave out customer value and satisfaction for ever, not even a beast like Dstv. Enough of its appalling pricing strategy. Heck, they have given us a truck load of reasons to boycott their services and it is incredibly ridiculous that NBC which is tasked with the responsibility of protecting our interest has chosen to stay mute even with all our complaints. This is one of many reasons why this country sucks. Dstv reception is so damn terrible that spitting on the floor where its dish is pegged instantly scrambles the signals. The long rebooting process is another chapter in a voluminous book of frustrations. I wonder if the authorities of Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation are not experiencing this same horrendous customer service and monopolistic tactics that we have forever complained about. Well, I won’t be surprised to hear that Dstv has special packages for NBC staff. Or how does one explain why its bad PR and continued price hikes haven’t crippled its business in Nigeria? Can Dstv subject South Africans to such substandard services? It has a very unique and annoying way of practising price discrimination, by selling the same product at different prices to different groups of consumers. What’s most annoying is its refusal to communicate any valid reason for this exploitative act. This warrants for a total boycott of its services across the country. Now that it has seen that we have started complaining and threatening to boycott its services, it will quickly roll out a new promo and a small discount on a new package to keep us on board. Nigerians should be smart this time around. We shouldn’t accept anything less than a revert to the old price. For Christ sake, must we consistently haggle Dstv to keep prices down or treat us equally with people in its homeland? Sad thing is that our efforts don’t necessarily ensure rates won’t continue to rise because the regulators who are supposed to keep it in check have been compromised. With all the illegalities perpetuated by these multinationals, isn’t it a miracle that none has been sanctioned? I once asked a Chinese neighbour if he has a permit to drive in Nigeria and the goon waved a N50 note at me saying, ‘this is my driver’s licence.’ These foreign investors use paid lobbyists within our corrupt government to ward off sanctions. I am sure that with this ongoing campaign for Dstv’s sanction, some government officials would have received bogus cheques to turn a deaf ear to our cries. I don’t even want to think of its endless promo offers and how it makes it extremely difficult for me to know what I am paying for and what services I am actually receiving. Not mentioning the complex pricing schemes that make it almost impossible for anyone to figure out how much any of the bundles it is offering actually costs, especially once the promo is over. Dstv can’t tell us it doesn’t know that the absence of simple, transparent pricing reduces consumer confidence and increases distrust but it has deliberately chosen to capitalise on the monopoly status given to it by our corrupt government to deny us the benefits of simpler pricing, fewer plans, and greater transparency. Maybe it is so big that its competitors will have to attack multiple markets to fully take it down but it should also know that if a company’s success routinely sacrifices the satisfaction of its customers, it inevitably becomes more difficult to sustain growth and generate revenue. The question now is, when will NTA and other local stations make use of innovative methods and bypass their old ways of doing things so that if Dstv doesn’t attempt to change and provide efficient customer services, its future in Nigeria will no longer be as bright as it thinks. – Punch |

33 year old Jessica Kilde, of Ogema, Minnesota, has been charged with murder after she admitted killing her boyfriend by tying him to a truck and dragging him along a rural road. Jessica pleaded guilty at the Becker County District Court, to second-degree intentional murder for the death of her boyfriend, 41-year-old Richard Baity. According to prosecutors, sheriff's deputies found the body of Baity on the road about 50 yards from his driveway, which is located on E. 370th Street in Maple Grove Township. Police discovered a piece of rope around his neck. The rope around his neck and the piece of rope on Kilde’s van matched. They also found skid marks on the road, leading back to Baity’s home. Kilde told police that she and Baity had a disagreement at home that night, but it was nothing serious. According to police, the two had been drinking alcohol and were smoking methamphetamine in the home earlier in the day. Kilde remains in jail pending her sentencing. Her criminal history includes convictions for drunk driving, domestic assault and disorderly conduct. Source: Worldwideweirdnews.com

Today, a joyful Mr. Suleiman is excited that his young daughter has broken the cultural barrier that often hold girls from her region back from acquiring higher education. The Executive Secretary of PTDF, Femi Ajayi, explained that the aim of the scholarship is to create capacity for the Oil and Gas sector and that with the support of President Goodluck Jonathan and the Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Allison-Mudueke, the agency is fulfilling its mission. Helicopter pilots are key professionals in the Oil and Gas sector. Corroborating the Executive Secretary, the head, Industry collaboration Unit of the PTDF, Barrister Timipre Wolo said before the establishment of the agency, the industry was dominated by expatriates. “The country needed to build its indigenous capacity to make sure it fills up the available vacancies. “Mostly, oil and gas activities in Nigeria are offshore and even those onshore; one has to fly to the locations because of the terrain of the Niger Delta. So helicopters became the major means of transportation,” she said. Another beneficiary of the scheme, Angel Odumodu from Port Harcourt in Rivers State said he was shocked when he got the call from the PTDF. “I wasn't expecting it but now I am a pilot and the whole family is excited”. Also Ogoromsi Apiri from Ogbia in Bayelsa State, a beneficiary, said he had always been curious to know how jets and helicopters fly, but that his dream of becoming a pilot seemed impossible when his father died. But the PTDF came to his rescue with the scholarship. From Kaduna is 18 year-old Tosin Ajibola, an indigene of Kwara State who is one of the 20 children of his father with four wives. He said: “I wanted to be a pilot but I realized it will cost me between 12 to 20M Naira to study abroad. My father who has 20 of us to take care of would not be able to afford the cost, so I told myself that I may has as well let go the dream”. Today, he is grateful to the scheme that has made him Nigeria’s youngest pilot. And from Zaria in Kaduna State is Jesuleke Elizabeth Babatunde, an indigene of Ondo State who disclosed that she and her husband had searched on-line a fruitlessly for such a scholarship until PTDF offered her the lifeline. With the success achieved with this first batch, Mr. Ajayi, PTDF's Executive Sectary believes that this is a dream come true for the trainees as the agency has given them a rare opportunity to improve their lives
